  1. We went to dinner last friday at a local BBQ place. They have 6-7 stores in the OKC metro, been in business over 20 years. We go in and the first thing I notice is another family standing around. Usually you get seated right away, and there were plenty of open tables, so it was odd. We had to order our food at this walk-up counter and I heard the manager (I assume because he was the only one wearing a polo shirt) quietly tell my wife "We have no servers tonight". Our food was delivered quickly and it was fine, no complaints. I did notice the place was nearly empty. I have no idea if they're a shitty employer that is now reaping what they've sown or if it's just the way things are going.
  2. I worked there in the late 90s. It was a shithole even then. It got so bad that the county sheriff's office lost control of the jail and it was turned over to a trust. Nothing has changed. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
  3. I had a snafu with my insurance earlier this year, I didn't get a shot for 5 weeks or so. I had resigned myself to the idea that I was just never going to get it again. I didn't feel near as blah as I did before I started taking it but I damn sure didn't get hard at the drop of a hat like I had been doing. Glad to be back on the spike again.
  4. I asked my Dr about that and he said if I were to stop the injections, my body would eventually start producing on it's own again.
  5. Honest question: If this would work, why hasn't the US government dropped this level of aid on Detroit or West Virginia? Do we think the local authorities are any less corrupt than foreign ones?
  6. I actually saw that in the theater. Just to reiterate something we've all said on here a million times: teenagers are stupid.
  7. Here in OKC, it's been in the 70s and raining for the last few days. I don't know who ordered this weather trade but I for one would buy that guy a beer.
  8. His last job was at Domino's, delivering pizza. He straight up asked my dad if he'd get kicked out of the house if he were to quit. Dad said no, nephew quit. Dad said he worked long enough to save up for some video game system and then quit. I think it was the Wii U. His sister managed to get on disability for her supposed mental illness. His response was "Why does she get to not work but I have to?", so I'm not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt just yet. Maybe I'm biased because of my dealings with my ex-wife. She was always "too depressed" to go to work, but she could go out almost every night with her friends, smoke weed, etc.
  9. How do you convince someone to do a job that they think "sucks" or is beneath them? My nephew is 29. He hasn't worked in a few years. He lives with my dad as sort of a half-ass caretaker. My dad had a massive heart attack five years ago and it was damn good my nephew was there and able to take him to the hospital. He helped my dad with some household things while he reovered. But now that dad's pretty much back to normal, he won't work. He claims to have applied for jobs online but never gets an interview. He refuses to take a menial job, such as fast food. He told my sister (his mom) that he'd rather "eat a bullet" than work fast food. So he stays up all night, eating, watching anime or playing PC games; then sleeps all day. My dad doen't have the heart to kick him out. My sister pays for his cell phone and car insurance and considers her job done. I don't think he'd admit it but I'm 100% convinced he's waiting for my dad to die and my sister to buy me out of his house, then he'll live in the house rent-free. So he's 29, MORBIDLY obese and hasn't worked in at least 6 years. He's the poster child for the "I won't take a menial job!" crowd. He sure as hell won't try for a job in the oilfield or at a mfg plant. He wants to sit on his ass all day. If, for some reason, he was put out in the street, you and I will be paying for his life. My sister won't do anything about it, my dad is old and lost that edge that he always used on me (and I'm grateful that he did it). How many more like him are out there? What can we do to convince them that it's ok to break a sweat at work? Or to move heavy shit while you look for a better job in your downtime? I spent 17 years in warehouses and in delivery vehicles before I landed my desk job. Who wants to do that now?
  10. The company gave her the ID and password for the account, they're finewith her doing whatever. I think it'll work.
  11. My wife's company is no longer going to give them phones, they're just going to give her $90/mo to get her own work phone. She wants to port her work number to google voice and just use her personal phone (Galaxy S21) to take calls/texts on the work number. We looked at the GV page and it seems you can pay $20 and port the number over and that's it, no further costs. It seems too good to be true. What app would she use to make/receive work calls? Hangouts? And what about texts? I can't seem to find any specific answers.
  12. Do you honestly think that Heidi has NEVER ran a successful business, or even employed anyone, and has only worked as an economist? I mean, really!
  13. You may laugh at this but I'm serious: When I was on 1.0, all I could think about was fucking. I couldn't concentrate on almost anything else. I was DTF at the drop of a hat. If I didn't get off at least twice a day, it was awful. My wife wasn't rude about it but she let me know that she could not keep up with that pace. We'd have sex and then 2 hours later, I'm rubbing one out because she wasn't going to do it again (I'm 47, she's 41 FWIW). If you're single, that's awesome and I hope you'll share your stories. If you're married, make sure you give the wife a heads-up that she needs to start taking her vitamins.
  14. I've been on TRT for a few years now. My initial test results were around 250. My Dr at the time put me on 0.5 ml, then increased to 0.75 after a while. Then he went up to 1.0 and man, I was rock hard pretty much 24/7 and I wasn't having ED before I started this. This just turned it up to 11. My wife was not amused. Then my Dr quit and I got a new one, he had me do bloodwork and I was at 1100. He dialed my dose back to 0.5 and now I'm running smoothly, wife is happy.
  15. I honestly don't remember, I think it was chicken. I do know that it was in the late afternoon/early evening and I did not order breakfast. Perhaps their breakfast would've been better? I doubt I'll ever go back, so that will probably remain a mystery.
  16. I went to Bob Evans a few years ago while visiting family in Bloomington, IN. I had never been there and had always wanted to go. It was fucking gross. I'd crawl on broken glass to get to Waffle House before I'd to to Bob Evans again.
  17. We also read similar things after a child is killed or abused, "I'd kill that muthafucka if he did that to my kid!", but that doesn't happen either. People like to talk big online.
  18. You take off your clothes and start walking. We need pics, ASAP.
  19. I walked by my coworker's desk as he's on a teams meeting. I hear a woman say "Whew, monday. I need a weekend to recover from my weekend, hahaha!". Rage.
  20. Had a bit of an angry meltdown yesterday. We left for a short getaway on wednesday morning. While waiting for the wife & kids to get their shit together, I decided to hop online. My PC wouldn't power on, it would try and then shut off. It finally said that I needed to reinstall windows. We were leaving in 15 mins, I was almost in a panic, this has never happened to me before. I decided to go ahead with the reinstall and hoped it would be ok until I got back on saturday. I arrived home to find that it was "working", as in it powered up but my PC was all fucked up. Apps were gone, of course, but it won't let me reinstall them. I can't figure out what's going on. I've had this PC almost 5 years and have been thinking about getting a new one anyway but I wanted to do that on MY terms, not because my old was is "broken". When I couldn't get my Plex server set back up, I lost it. Just started gorilla-bashing the keyboard as it sat on my lap, keys flew off and were scattered around the room. My wife was sitting next to me and was understandably startled. I threw the keyboard down and stormed away to my room and just laid on the floor. I was still mad but embarrassed as well. More like ashamed, really. I ordered a new PC on amazon this morning and now I'm trying to get past my outburst. I have already apologized to my wife, she was as gracious as ever. I'm lucky to have her.
  21. My wife likes to buy shit at Lowe's but hates driving my F-150 because it's size makes it hard for her to drive and park. I'm sure she's not the only one that feels that way. There's probably a lot of women that would find the Maverick appealing, and I don't mean that as an insult to any guys that would buy one. I'm way too tall for a midsize or below but I'd give it a hard look if I could fit comfortably inside. I'm seeing $26k for a loaded XLT, that's not bad.
  22. We had our performance evals done this past week (I crushed it, as usual). But when my boss emailed to ask if I had anything else to go over, I requested a meeting and got everything off my chest that's been bugging me for the past month or so. It feels so damn liberating to just unload that shit, even though I know it won't really change anything about my situation. It was almost like therapy. I already know that talking about things out loud really does wonders for me, but I need to figure out why it takes me so long to do it. My wife is more than willing to listen to me, I guess I feel guilty about dumping things on her. I need to be more open about it. If you're on the fence about talking so someone (friend, co-worker, therapist), please just do it. I can't guarantee it will solve all of your problems but it absolutely cannot hurt. And it might just make a huge difference for you.
