  1. We had a bad ice storm in OKC about 5 years ago. I debated on calling in but I was raised by hard-working parents that always emphasized working every day and not being a goldbrick. I was crawling down I-40 at 20-25 mph and I just spun out, hit the barriers and totaled the car. Luckily I didn't hit anyone else. Called work and told them, I never heard anything from them afterwards. No "Are you OK?", nothing. Ever since then, I say "Fuck you, not driving" anytime we get ice. They don't care if I get in a wreck? I don't care if shit doesn't get done that day. I'm fortunate that I work for the state and have leave I can use, a lot of people don't have that luxury. It's supposed to snow like a motherfucker on sunday/monday, so who knows when I'll be going back in?
  2. My dad was career USAF and I grew up overseas, hearing it all the time. Every time AFN started/ended their broadcast day; before any event on base. Shit, they play it at the movies before the film starts. I remember the first time I went to a movie after we came back to the States, I told my dad "Uhh, do they not do the anthem here?". He laughed. Having said that, I don't think it's a huge deal to play it or not. Each venue should make their own decision on whether or not to do it. The whole argument feels like a waste of energy.
  3. I seem to remember Wilson shilling for some "recovery water" with "nano-bubbles" that was supposed to keep him from getting concussed. Drink up, fuckface.
  4. Even better. Russell got 11 titles in 13 years. Fucking insane. Had two in college as well, just for good measure.
  5. I'm not trying to confuse anything. I'm saying either take the millions or don't. I assume he wants the cash because he signed the deal. If he decides that football isn't his thing, he can move on and do something else. IDGAF what he does.
  6. Would this happen to be "I Heart Mac & Cheese"? My daughter worked there a couple of years ago when they opened up in our town. It didn't last, prices were high and the parent company was always messing with things. Good food but my kid said most customers balked at the prices.
  7. The Giants didn't have leverage. San Diego drafted Eli, who said he'd refuse to sign. He would've gone back into the draft next year and SD would've eaten that pick. So Eli had the leverage. The NYG wanted him, he wanted to go there. They made the trade and he signed with NY. The real drama was from Phillip Rivers' agents. Because he got traded from 4th to 1st, they wanted him to be paid like the #1 pick.
  8. You can get one, but for less years and total money. Kirk Cousins got one. But they know they deal before they sign, it shouldn't take them by surprise. Roll the dice for a chance of a multi-million dollar salary or take a regular job like the rest of us chumps.
  9. He wasn't under contract. Doesn't mean it wasn't a bitch move, but it's not like he signed for 100+ million and THEN told SD he wasn't playing there.
  10. I take my Amazon returns to Kohl's, they handle that shit now. Easy as pie.
  11. He boxed the guy that played Horschach on Welcome Back Kotter. A much smaller and older guy. DD roughed him up. It was just all-around bad TV.
  12. Looks like it was all downhill after he won the Heisman. Sad.
  13. Ha, I thought about it for a second but I have a '16 Lariat and if I'm being honest, I like mine better.
  14. Sad truck story: My brother-in-law passed away last week, very sudden and unexpected. My sister is selling his 2017 Raptor. She had just bought a new SUV and has no use for it and the extra payment. He loved that truck. His commute was only 3-5 miles, so even though it's a 2017, it only has 21K miles on it. Selling the truck is the right thing to do but it's still just a kick in the balls to me. I miss my bro and I guess i'm just pissed.
  15. I'm not at home where I normally watch, any solid link would be appreciated.
  16. My brother-in-law passed away yesterday. He had some kind of cardiac event a week ago and stopped breathing, my sister was working from home and was able to call 911 & start CPR. They had to put him into a medically induced coma, as he wasn't getting enough oxygen and was having seizures. Things started to look like they were improving over the last couple of days, then they said that was it, they couldn't do anything to save him. I still don't understand what happened. The worst part is that he was only 57, he had so much life left. He was a great man. Loved and cared for my sister for 17 years. Served his country in the Marine Corps for 22 years. Busted his ass to get a masters degree and took every education/training course his job would offer. But he was so humble, you'd never hear him talk about himself or make himself appear to be some kind of big shot, even though he was. My sister didn't expect to be a widow at 50. She's handling it as well as she can but it's so hard. My dad is just crushed, he loved my BIL so much. They shared that bond that retired military vets have. I'm struggling with the reality of this, I just can't believe it happened. It feels exactly the same as when my mother died. This is a bullshit carnival ride and I want to get off.
  17. Man, that kick was loud.
  18. I never signed those release papers. They'll be hearing from my attorney, pronto.
  19. After my daughter tested positive, my wife and other daughter got tested and the results are back: wife is negative, daughter is positive. I got tested today but I think I'm in the clear.
  20. I really enjoy Rob Lowe's podcast. There's lots of "inside baseball" stuff about acting and hollywood, and all the roles he turned down/didn't get, that I find facinating. And he's pretty funny. The story of his "Footloose" audition is hilarious.
  21. My ex-wife and her husband tested positive on 12-22. One of my daughters goes back and forth between our houses, so she got tested the next day and her results were negative. The ex left town to isolate and my kid isolated in her room until we got the results bank. Fast forward to 1-1, she's got a cough, sore throat, and feels like shit, no fever. She isolates in her room, only comes out while masked, gets tested yesterday. Well, she tested positive. My wife and the other kid got tested today, as they spent more time together than I do. I'm going to wait a few days and see how I feel before getting tested. Now I'm working at home until further notice. Wife's been WAH for months now, no change for her. Kids can't go to work at all for a while. Fuck.
  22. I don't see why they'd put the final four in Lucas if there's no fans, why would they need all that room?. Having it in Hinkle would be amazing.
  23. First time I saw those ads with the "Capital One Cafe", I thought it was one of those Energizer ads, where the bunny would show up out of nowhere. Who wants to spend time in the fucking bank? I try to go as little as possible, I don't want to hang out and buy drinks there.
  24. It seems like Alec is trying his best, they have 5 kids. Maybe he needs to tag out and let someone else give it a try. I'm available most weekends.
