  1. From the comments in the Russian POW video:
  2. That should be a few billion in fines and forced retirement of all execs and some criminal charges.
  3. Something like that. noun noun: derelict; plural noun: derelicts a person without a home, job, or property. "derelicts who could fit all their possessions in a paper bag" a piece of property, especially a ship, abandoned by the owner and in poor condition.
  4. Was at my buddy's lake house up on Cedar Creek reservoir since Thursday for a golf weekend. We were pouring drinks and lighting cigars at 7:55 Sunday morning to get ready to watch the Monaco race when the wind started picking up. Looked at all of the weather apps and none of them showed or mentioned any type of storm for the day and wind forecast was 8-10 mph with 15 mph gusts. By 8:03, when the F1 race started and they had the crash that halted it, the wind was probably blowing 30mph. Within probably three more minutes it was blowing 60+ and we watched the neighbors dock get destroyed. Finally, a 50ish foot tall tree fell onto the porch of my buddy's place. If I tried to round the corner and walk the direction of the wind, it would stand me straight up. Then, probably after 10-12 minutes, it was over. The Country club reported 10 destroyed docks, 4 derelict boats, and hundreds of trees down. Now, I can't find any news about it or find out what the maximum wind gusts were.
  5. Nothing to see here. Just another accidental drowning caused by intoxication. Case closed.
  6. Ironic that the view of the capitol in this most recent photo is obstructed by buildings, yet there is a sign locating "Lady Bird Lake"* in the foreground. * It will never be Lady Bird Lake. Ever.
  7. My buddy and I used to take his '64 Chevy C-10 down to Congress for the Lone Star Roundup Hot Rod show every year. He had a gun rack in the back window and he'd put a Daisy Red Rider in it for the car show. Inevitably, every year, for like 7 years running, a group of foreigners would be walking down the sidewalk and shout "OMG...he has a shotgun right there in the window", which would be followed by how crazy America is.
  8. A pimp's love is very different from that of a square.
  9. The bigger problem on Lake Travis wasn't drunks falling out of bars, it was drunks falling out of boats and drowning.
  10. In Philadelphia, it's worth fifty bucks.
  11. LCRA used the term "Rain Bomb" during the 2007 event over Marble Falls. https://hydromet.lcra.org/Documents/2007_flood_report.pdf
  12. Hello, soon to be neighbor. Moving to the 78628 in a few weeks.
  13. It's the only way to be safe. Turn around, don't drown.
  14. 1/2” rain and as a special bonus, it knocked out the last remaining oak pollen remnants lingering in the trees.
  15. That guy is a fucking cunt and I hope that place burns down.
  16. Hopefully. But really, who cares? He won't be fighting any more either way.
  17. Petition to remove Garza https://www.kxan.com/video/petition-to-remove-travis-county-da-josé-garza-granted/9624161/
  18. The light at old spice wood springs and 360 has been ill timed since November. It basically rotates through every scenario in the rotation, every time, regardless if anyone is waiting in one of the directions. I had an hour long convo with a very helpful woman from txdot that leads the 360 construction project back in February and she was more than willing to help. The next day she told me that COA is actually responsible for all lights on 360. I put in a request to COA online. It was immediately marked as closed and nothing has happened in 3 months. Good luck.
  19. Well, to be fair, the hiring of Cronk was an even bigger shitshow than the firing of Cronk.
  20. If it hits anywhere near Houston, it won't come anywhere near Austin. They need to hit the Texas coast between Corpus and SPI to get to the Austin area.
  21. Been 7-8 minutes of solid rolling thunder above my house near 360/2222. Like nonstop steady roll. Rain just started.
  22. You say this, but I can tell you that my MIL asked me last night, in all seriousness, if she needed to get some eclipse glasses to watch the event on TV?
  23. She is at Hofstra University in Hempstead on Long Island. I admittedly do not know where the epicenter was.
