  1. To Ole Miss?
  2. I prefer starting a season hungry with a kick in the ass from the press rather than a pat on the back. Let's go!
  3. The play of the large guards we will be using to play point will be a big factor in our record. If they can get the ball up the court under pressure, play competent defense against smaller faster guards, and hit open outside shots at a decent clip, we could be in the mix for the top 1/3 of the SEC.
  4. that's a nice-looking Guinness pour!
  5. He looked like a young nervy QB in his first road game against a top 5 team in an extremely hostile environment with millions watching his every move… what was worrisome was the odd mechanics from the savant QB who has been closely coached by experts since he could hold a football. Assuming he beats up on the cupcakes coming up lets see if he has learned and put this game in his rearview once he starts again on the road in the SEC with almost everyone in attendance wanting him to fail miserably
  6. The one playing center for Miami is getting embarrassed
  7. So is he UTSA, North Texas, Texas St level or could he maybe start at Houston or SMU?
  8. Sacrilege these Iowa state fans sitting in the stands 2 hours before kickoff with hundreds of great Dublin pubs within walking distance to get some craic beforehand
  9. the main questions I have about this team are: can we defend a fast smaller guard? do we have someone who can bring the ball up the court against pressure? do we have someone who can reliably breakdown a 1-on-1 defender on a drive and cause opposing defenses to adjust/help when we need a good look? I’m hoping the kid from St Johns can be a reliable point man. We will need him and/or Pope to be.
  10. I like the physicality, rebounding, and interior defense this roster looks like it could bring. Give me one more guy who can handle the ball with some pace (a true point) for about 15-20 mins a game and I'd be super satisfied. I'm not sure Mark is someone I want bringing the ball up the court more than a few possessions a game to show something different to the opposing defense. Once we get into the half-court offense, I am cool with him getting some time running the point more. As it stands now, I am hoping Wilcher and/or Pope can be competent moving the ball up the court with confidence and pace against a pressing defense, cause it seemed like Mark had to turn his back and slow things down significantly at times when we asked him to do that near the end of last year. Even if we are done with roster additions, I like the changes. If think keys will be how well our guards protect the ball and how well our SFs/PFs can hit 3's when loosely guarded.
  11. Richards was good … can’t think of another USA guy who made an argument this game to be on the squad besides maybe berhalter as a backup
  12. Abyemang just got outmuscled by a 140 lb 16 year old … sub him now
  13. Abyemang seems like he wants nothing to do with this game … who do we have that can sub in for him?
  14. Good guys look gassed and panicked
  15. And Freeze plays stupid absent his PK showing last game
