  1. I would do nothing for a whole lot less than $76 million. Can I sign up somewhere?
  2. With all of the concern about not being able to close out games (which I agree with), at least one thing is true: Our youngest players like Baxter, Hill, Manning, etc...all they know about Texas is that we have won 9 games out of 10 played. We have won nearly every close game. We have won on the road, at night, even in Tuscaloosa. That's going to pay dividends going forward. They are used to winning, and they expect to win, and they know what it takes to win. It's about time. 9-1.
  3. We're everybody's Super Bowl. We're also 8-1. Bring it on.
  4. It's okay, being a virgin is nothing to be ashamed about.
  5. Mine: Me: "I have a headache" or "My knee hurts" or "I didn't sleep well" Her: "It's probably cancer"
  6. the growing paints in college station are uphauling
  7. *pulls out the black light* Nope, no orgasms yet. My point was that this season so far has played out in reverse of so many other seasons, even those where we've beaten ou and then they go on to the conf championship game. I got so fucking tired of watching them luck into winning games like we did against Houston or K State the past few weeks. OTOH, they have dropped games they shouldn't have -- for so many years that has been our domain. For once we aren't looking up at the rest of conference standings, hoping that ou or someone else will lose so that we can get back into contention for a conference championship. Am I counting on a conference championship, or a playoff spot? Hell no, for too many years we've been really good at finding creative ways to fuck up our season. But we control our destiny late in the season, and that doesn't happen often. And ou is mired in sadness at the moment, hoping that various pieces fall into place for them. So hell yes, I am enjoying the fuck out of this season so far. If we do wind up winning out, then yeah, there will be a mess to clean up.
  8. Games like this give me stress, so I am going for a long hike tomorrow, recording the game, keeping up with the score realtime, and then either watching with content satisfaction or burning the recording when I get home. Much less stressful for me.
  9. But Colorado beat them! Miracle turnaround for the Buffs!
  10. Only surly could take a thread about Biff Poggi of all fucking people and twist it into a thread about the merits of a Pepperdine law degree. Well done.
  11. I didn't make it through much of that clip. I wish I still didn't know.
  12. Amazing Halloween night in our neighborhood, as usual. Some houses offered adult beverages to parents which was a nice touch. One woman in the hood is a university astronomy professor and had her telescope set so people could see Saturn and Jupiter -- pretty fantastic add-on to the typical Halloween festivities.
  13. It's an oline issue. Not sure who you switch to get some sort of push in the middle. Otherwise use Byron M as a fullback and put CJ back there to at least try to get something going. Running Brooks or Red 3 straight times makes no sense.
  14. The mysterious life of Dan S Delivery continues to unfold.
  15. If our neighborhood is any indication, trick or treating door-to-door is stronger than ever. Kajillions of kids walking around each year, parents having a great time, decorations everywhere. Honestly I love Halloween -- the one time of year we tell kids to go knock on stranger's doors, because good things are going to happen. Bring it on.
  16. He recovered enough to become a DoorDash driver. Did some reaction videos under the name Dan S. Delivery and played in some poker tournaments. Someone posted on one of his Facebook pages "RIP" in April but I can't confirm that. His last post on his most active page was in April. A life truly lived
  17. For some reason I can't edit my above post to show the Ricky Williams TD in that 1996 Missouri game, but Ricky will not be denied:
  18. Exactly what I was thinking. Mizzou punted from deep in their own territory when the storm was blowing in and the ball maybe went 15 yards because the wind and rain were so intense. Later Ricky Williams carried some poor Mizzou player into the end zone a la Earl vs SMU, which seemed to be a fitting metaphor for the game itself.
