  1. IMO we need more war porn. Maybe it would help make people realize the literal hell that murderous authoritarian leaders like Putin are making their people and the entirety of Ukraine go through, and maybe help us avoid the same fate. JK we're fucked.
  2. I am a man cut from the know Rarely do friends, come and then go She was a girl, soft but estranged We were the two, our lives rearranged Feeling so good that day A feeling of love that day Twisting and turning, your feelings are burning You're breaking the girl (She meant you no harm) Think you're so clever, but now you must sever You're breaking the girl (He loves no one else) Raised by my dad, girl of the day He was my man, that was the way She was the girl left alone Feeling the need to make me her home I don't know what, when, or why The twilight of love had arrived Twisting and turning, your feelings are burning You're breaking the girl (She meant you no harm) Think you're so clever, but now you must sever You're breaking the girl (He loves no one else) Twisting and turning, your feelings are burning You're breaking the girl (She meant you no harm) Think you're so clever, but now you must sever You're breaking the girl (He loves no one else)
  3. After he’s dead, they could put green caps on his nipples. What a world.
  4. A lot of people also think our border is wide open. Well, there are a lot of people trying to come in. About the same amount as (checks notes), when GWB was president. Thanks Obama (lowest of the period shown).
  5. During the cold snap last week my wife opened up all the cabinets in our bathrooms. All of which are on interior walls with rooms on the other side. Also the kitchen faucet cabinets. Which are on an island. At this point in life I decided fuck it, it’s not hurting anything so I kept my mouth shut. Pick your battles.
  6. Hopefully they fortified the booths and chairs, things weigh more now than in 1985.
  7. Why not both? Roman both naochs, even the rock throwing douche could run this city better.
  8. If that happens to me, I generally hire a construction guy with a trailer to block egress from his house.
  9. 3.1” so far in south Austin. Have to go reposition the trash bins since the water in the gutter moved them.
  10. Too much 69ing! I had gotten rid of my '66 before I met you in 1998 or whenever it was. This was basically my car, except I had some hail dents from the 1993 storm.
  11. Pos rep for the Corelle leaded plate.
  12. @TexasEd would appreciate this, my daily driver at that time was a ‘66 mustang. Red with a black hard top. The gas gauge was crap and once I ran out of gas turning onto Mountain Ridge, managed to coast downhill all the way to our house.
  13. Yeah that was later, I lived there around 1989-90. Still, was a great neighborhood.
  14. Holy shit, I was across the street. You didn’t happen to be at the block party that one night where there were um, bad things, involving mescaline, mowing the yard at 2am and rolling a dude wrapped in a rug down the sidewalk? If that was you, apologies.
  15. We are kind of in the same boat, but as a soon to be retiree/investor, I kind of wonder what is going to happen to the service industry the next few years? That’s a huge part of our economy that is becoming increasingly unaffordable.
  16. What street were you on? We lived off Mountain Ridge/Smooth Oak back at that time. Man that was a great neighborhood to live in as a college student. We need a "places I've lived in Austin" map thread, that would actually be kinda cool.
  17. We should bury @HenryJames there, and declare it a historical site. Plus there would be lots of oil, he has it in his veins.
  18. I thought I was the only one who remembered that. WC Clark down by the duck pond was awesome.
  19. That’s not exceptional. I get that in any type of weather. Oof. 39 years in March.
  20. Winner of the REM Nursing Home Chronicles album cover.
  21. I was working outside and it was cold enough (14 degrees) that I when I farted, it felt hot at first, then cold down my leg. Figured I sharted, but went back inside to check my drawers and all was well. Crisis averted as of January 17. Tomorrow is another day.
  22. You're missing the spiral staircase!! As for the Pex - we put this stuff on exposed Pex water line under a house, and it works really well. Not sure that's feasible for yours or not.
