    I will watch the game.

I could tolerate the Pats more because I was legit impressed by their excellence. The Chiefs just seem to barely squeak by everybody which is...tiresome.

Hate the Eagles though so, I don't anticipate enjoying this much either way.

But hey it is the Super Bowl. Any excuse for a party.

The Pats used to just run over teams, but never in the Super Bowl.

Easily could have lost Rams 1, Seattle and Atl.

We haven't had a good ass kicking dynasty since Cowboys and/or 49ers.

An idea of the depth as compared to the 6" inch.

Faucet protection working like a champ.  Wife just snuck a peek outside, she says it is still coming down.  I'll update later.

I grew up in Corpus Christi.  I'd never been to the mountains and had never seen snow.  First time I saw snow was a trip to Colorado when in 2007 when I was 27.

I got married in June of 2003.  Spent Christmas that year in Corpus with my family.  Spent Christmas 2024 in East Texas with my wife's family.  This was pre iPhone, so I was getting call after call from my parents, sister, aunts, uncles and drunk cousins saying how amazing it was to have a White Christmas.  In Corpus Christi.  Meanwhile, I was sitting in the living room with no snow, no TV, no music, and no entertainment with my wife's teetotaling family.  20 years later, and I'm still pissed about it.

That reminds me about another thing about that trip...we were visiting my wife's brother and his family along with her parents and grandmother. Everybody was cool with some winter drinking except grandma.

I was 37 at the time and had to go to the basement to sneak in some bourbon for my egg nog so grandma wouldn't see...and I too am still pissed.

That old bat lived to be 100, so that wasn't the last time Jiggy had to slink off for booze like a an underaged tennager.

I was reading (on the internet, so it has to be right) that many of the homes burned not from embers on the roof, but from embers being drawn into the attic through the airflow vents.  Once inside, there isn't much that could be done.  Does that sound right?  In looking at pictures of houses on fire, many seem to have fire resistant roofs like Spanish tile or composition shingles.  I know that fire resistant does not equal fire proof.

I'm not sure what they do in California, but a prevalent design in Texas is to vent the attic with an air flow from soffit vents which travels up and exits on the roof ridge  vent.

An exterior wood soffit and wood roof trim would burn and then travel rapidly into the attic via the same path as the venting air. It is a pretty vulnerable design for fire.

In the case of these fires, I dont think it matters much.

My own house has a closed attic with a metal roof and I have been considering replacing the wood soffit with hardiboard and flashing the exposed wood.  The rest of the exterior structure is stucco, stone, and exposed concrete with aluminum clad wood windows, so with the improvements, we could probably fend off a wildfire considering there are no other structures close by and minimal trees. You never know though. Fire is like water.  It finds a way.

  5. Red zone was actually good this game. I don't consider 1st and goal from the one a red zone stat...the hard part has been done already.

Short yardage killed us twice in this game.  No reason not to have converted and be talking about a win instrad of a loss. Furk.

I saw this, too. But this offset the terrible PI calls Penn St benefitted from that should have been turnovers in the endzone. Penn St scored TDs after these calls.

I thought the first call was legit and absolutely affected the route and the play overall.

    2nd call was horse shit.
