  1. Well this was not really about aggy recruiting the Houston area, but more about what enticement to B/CS offer to potential nbue blood ooc opponents when in the area for an away game. Ala one of the reasons why Texas plays Rice in Houston regularly. Whatever, not really one of my stronger points anyway.
  2. Of course it is. I was referring more to proximity to urban/suburban target rich environment vs having to hump all over east Texas specifically when playing in B/CS. Houston is 99 miles away.
  3. More like big OOC names don't schedule them. If there is a matrix or decision tree on scheduling optimal ooc match ups, aggy checks almost none of the boxes for big name programs. Aggy is just good enough to where they won't win, but will make your program worse by dragging it down to their level of play and making you look bad for the poles and fans College Station offeres nothing in the way of a cool road trip venue, which is actually hard to do. No big city, no majestic nature, no fertile recruiting grounds, no incredible historic campus. I guess they have hospitality going for them but that will likely be offset by the sweltering early season swamp like conditions. Rates low among "has been" programs like Minnesota, Syracuse, Army, etc Aggy brand not quite marquee enough, which is kind of a low bar considering Nebraska and Michigan St. are more attractive brand name match ups. Aggy could probably book some blue bloods, but only for an away game. Their problem is that they think they are good enough to leverage a home game out of the deal sine they think of themselves as an elite program.
  4. Reminds me of the short lived NBC " hit" Supercomputer, which ran from 1975-1975.
  5. Literally none of that came even close to happening.
  6. That int. may come back to haunt Clemson.
  7. So much was made out of those early season victories last year, especially TCU and Nebraska. But anyone with even a modicum of football knowledge could tell that was not a good team. Hell, even the pundits that were heaping praise in one sentence, would turn around and predict a 5 win team in the next. I guess there was some future trend extrapolation going since they were so shitty and in disarray the year before. Even before this game there was not a whole lot of new momentum with the program, just more of what they had last year with similar results to be expected. I'm all for coach prime to hype himself and the program to get some false momentum, but at some point that needs to turn into some tangible results, if not in the form of more wins, certainty in player acquisition and development, added program stability, and roster depth.
  8. While there are some things that administrations like to take credit for that they really have nothing to do with and also bad things that are thrust upon them, I will disagree somewhat with a few examples of both in no particular order. Clinton was the beneficiary of the peace dividend and a stingy congress. All he had to do was stay the course and ride the high. Carter and Obama were handed absolute shit sandwiches. Bush II absolutely had something to do witht he 2007 crash, even though deregulation over the previous 25 years was the main culprit. The Trump tax cut was absolutely a bad idea given that the economy was already recovering and guess what, we sure could have had a more effective stimulus for covid had we not done the tax cut not to mention all the magical thinking that went on wrt to covid. Im kind of rambling, but I hope you get the idea.
  9. From a morning stroll by this college relic of mine. FIGHT
  10. So about this, wrt KH: Where the fuck is this coming from? Is it just made up out of whole cloth because she is an attractive woman? That one relationship with Willy Brown? Is that it? Is there anything else? Fact is, it doesn't matter especially given Trump's actual documented numerous moral failings. (Cheated on all wives, civil rape conviction, acess Hollywood, pagent complaints, Epstein island trips, weird daughter shit).
  11. ...and that is just what is on the surface extracted with traditional primitive methods. Just wait until we start fracking for complete idiots who have no cell phones or computers to out themselves. There is simply no way to overestimate the reverves.
  12. N.O. is a national treasure. Killer Asimov or VanBuerin sideburns too.
  13. I fear something truly unprecedented and insane will happen between now and inauguration. If Trump wins, then after.
  14. I did. Dressed her up real nice too. I wanted her to go to a good home where she could live her best life. She was a bitch to wrap tho.
  15. Used to see her and DKR at the Jim's at the Y in Oak Hill back in the day all the time. I left them alone, but DKR was fond of the Frontier burger combo. Not sure on breakfast selections. Also saw Bob Weltlich at the Safeway on Bee Cave and Walsh Tarlton right after he got fired way back in the 80's. He was doing some light shopping and humming along to the Muzak version of Duran Duran's "The Reflex", and yes it was as pathetic as it reads. RIP Mrs. Royal
  16. CSB: Back in my post divorce days after I had moved into my new digs 25+ years ago, I thought I would mark the occasion by grilling some burgers with my kid on my custody night. Turns out I was a little light on cutlery after the divorce and had to wash my pvc plumbing saw in order to use it to cut the tomatoes for the burgers. I told my group of friends about the incident and being poor at the time, they decided to throw a "shit for jiggy" party. Along with pathetic divorced father gifts like tv trays and terrible wall hangings, I got one of the classic blow up sex dolls. Since I was a big George Jones fan, they named her Tammy KY. Well Tammy got folded up and put on the top shelf of my bedroom closet. I forgot to mention that, also being poor at the time, I had purchased a small farmhouse on 6 acres for my new digs. The property was nice enough, but the house had no heating or cooling and needed a lot of work(another reason I had no money). Anyway, about a year later, I had scraped together enough money to put in some central heat and ac that a buddy of mine was doing with some help from me. One of the grills needed a duct channel that passed right by (you guessed it) the top shelf in my closet where Tammy was. So my buddy is up there fishing around and moving stuff off of the shelf when Tammy falls off the shelf and opens her legs up on the floor. I was like: and proceeded to tell him the above story and he was like: ...Tammy eventually made her way to a white elephant xmas party.
  17. As I have said before: He herped his way down the field and then derped his way into our hearts.
  18. User name does not check out.
  19. Sometimes it's not the effort or the miles, but the time of day. I say that even though I do hill sprints at 6pm, but that is only s 45 min workout that is about 30 minutes of lollygagging or rest.
  20. I see he has already made friends with Mitch's wife.
