2025/2026 TDAY, XMAS, NYE, NYD Menu/Pron Thread

WE are usually in Aruba for T-day week however I am homebound for another two months recovering from my Kidney Transplant, very thankful for that! So it's just me, the wife and the 8yo twins along with my MIL/FIL. We are making the following: Turkey, Mashed taters, MIL's stuffing ( she adds nions, mushrooms, celery) and I will make a second Cornbread & Sausage stuffing (b/c I can and I want it), I will also make a small hunk of ham (b/c I can and I want it), and something green thats TBD. MIL is making an apple or so I have been told and I want a pecan pie. It's overkill ad I nave all sorts of dietary concerns w/ my recovery and food safety concerns but my headspace needs this. -
thx, I'll keep that in mind, I have Cigna and they have been great so far. I was maxed out w.r.t "out of pocket" early this year and so far have not had to outlay much short of a Co-Pay for Tach from the Hospital, not sure I;l have to ay that again as those were does to leave the hospital with and now the drugs come from a Cigna designated specialty pharmacy.

So I got the transplant last week, crazy shit my peeps. Went in on a Tuesday afternoon and home on a Saturday by noon! Procedure itself takes about 2.5 hours and start to finish ius about 3.5 hours. Got an incision about six inches long across my abdomen with some discomfort. Kids have ben great but I know they worried and are it pains them that I can't snuggle, hop in bed with them, get close or do all the things we used to do together. I'm basically segregated from them due to *YO's being germ boxes, so no driviing them, no going to their stuff, no play dates at out house sucks. This will change and go back to normal in 5 or 6 weeks but it sucks for now.

neither! my best friend in Austin is donating one and that's getting me one from another person. it's like a MLB 4 players trade.

Kids are amazing. We just told our 8YO twins that I'm getting a kidney transplant. They seem to be handling it well. They don't understand it beyond face value nor should they. The whole thing is complex as are the root causes behind it and there a moments where they ask things about "genes" and your taken back think, shit maybe they are listening and understanding it all. My daughter us processing it better than her brother. She asks questions and is seems to be most concerned about how many days I'll be out of the house and my son, he's more quiet about it It's interesting as he's very empathetic but also emotionally immature...boys. I suspect facetime & ohone calls from the hospital will help them and presuming I get home quickly will help. the recovery at home anbd new protocols will be hard on this as much as they will be on me/us. Got some un-fun road ahead for my little peeps and shit Dad's gonna miss for a while, no sports, no Girl Scouts stuff, they willl have to go out for play dates (not really dreading that). I think they kids will do better than me but thats the way it goes most time, kids are tough and resilient.

I had a job that was just down the road form the OG Dot's and we'd hit that once a week for lunch, got nothing done those afternoons.

Take a Ronkonkoma train to Farmingdale Station. Transfer to the complimentary shuttle service, which will transport Ryder Cup attendees to the Main Entrance. The LIRR will run extra morning trains from New York City to Farmingdale for this event. For those traveling from Suffolk County, all Ronkonkoma Branch trains will stop at Farmingdale. Check the TrainTime app for all your options. Taking the first early morning train from Grand Central to the Ryder Cup? Make sure to access the terminal from the 1 Vanderbilt building, located at 48 E 43 St, directly to the west of Grand Central Terminal on the corner of E 43 St and Vanderbilt Av, which will open at 4:30 a.m. Give yourself added travel time to get to track level during these early morning hours before the larger Grand Central complex is fully open at 5:15 a.m. After the matches, extra trains will be on standby to take riders to Jamaica and Manhattan as needed. Farmingdale Station is block or so from Main street which has many bars and restaurants.

thats dumb, the renovations are great and it far less confusing for a visitor than the labyrinth that is GCT LIRR, also going vua GCT generally means transfer at Jamaica

first train from Penn to Bethpage is at 3:38 AM, runs twice an hour. get the MTA Train Time app, gives you realtime schedules and ticket purchases.

if there was a High Speed Rail option.....

it's like Czechoslovakia

Why do you "have to have them" cars? I take the train from NYC to BBS, BOS, and RTE128 as example and find Ubering from the destination station to my meetings to easy and efficient. I do this going into Philly and DC as well. I sometimes Uber to the LIRR which is 6min from my house to take a LIRR to NYC to catch said Amtrak
