  1. TMSQR sucks. period. One visit is enough. I thought that in '93 when I first visited NYC and living here the last 19 years I can assure it, it's a fucking pit. Lovely for tourists but annoying as shot for those that live here and need to access places in it or adjacent to it. this really stems from my overall anger at people that are: spatially unaware, loitering in places of ingress or egress, aimlessly drifting about amongst those who are walking or moving with a purpose, taking what will be really shitty pictures, and looking up at generic architecture.
  2. funny cuz its true? the mute button is my jesus
  3. Disposable prepackaged TV remotes for every guest would be a winner. Maides don't clean them enough and people....well they touch them, they touch themselves....do the math

  5. One of my uncles has the same condition, hits close to home.
  6. Nope, NY. the seller "got the house" in her divorce and when the husband left he apparently took all the documents. She can get what she (we) need from the previous lender but they have little interest in doing this quickly, she should also be able to get this "satisfaction" info via a title search if I'm not wrong. We wanted to clone on Monday but now that's basically blown as I have meetings on Monday, we need to do the walk through first as well. it's a day for the walk through and day for the closing. (we currently live in the city and the house is in the burbs). Our nanny has a doctor appointment on Tuesday so that's a blown day. I don't mind moving the close if I could just get her, to get her shit together so we could commit to the dates.

  9. Ann Richards on ecstasy at the Eagle's "Hell Freezes Over" concert at Texas Memorial Coliseum 1995. She was seated in the same row as my group was, somewhere in the front rows. I was out of my gourd on X, I lean forward and look down the row, and there is Ann Richards looking right back at me. Needless to say it's something I'll never forget.
  10. Scooters: apparently this shit is all over San Francisco. I look forward to the mass carnage if attempted here in NYC.
  11. this is really the way to go. I used to have a deal with the neighborhood Starbucks back in my hard boozing days where they would give me sleeves of small coffee cups and lids and I used these for roadies of Jameson, see a taxi cab won't let you bring an alcoholic drink into the cab but no one cares about a coffee.

  16. shit that pisses me off...seller of the house I'm buying cannot find her mortgage satisfaction letter, which we need for me to get my mortgage and close on this house. who loses/misplaces shit like that? Her old lender is moving slow to find a copy as well.
  17. Broke a finger playing flag football. no big deal...well sort of. This wasn't a typical joint break or middle of the bone break. This was a top to bottom (the pad side of your finger tip) of the tip bone break where the tendon was pulling the bottom of the tip bone down thru my finger. Good times. Had to have the tendon cut, the bones pinned together (still have the pin) and the tendon reattached. The bone and my nerves in that finger have never been the same, took maybe 10 years to get 100% mobility back and the fingernail (where the pin went through) is now denser and different. the bone is thicker than the same finger on my other hand and more sensitive.
  18. people who put away the laundry
