  1. Seems really clear, what he's saying... Equating success as a band (money/records sold etc) to being a "good" band is regarded.
  2. I actually met him a few weeks ago at a work thing. Nice guy.

Posted in the general bbq thread, but should've posted here. Made it out to Corkscrew in Spring. Got there around 1:00ish maybe a little before and the line took about an hour to get through. Not a fan of their ordering process. Wait in line for an hour, get to the front and place your order, then get a ticket...so you go sit for longer while your order is prepared. We probably waited another 20 min after ordering. I'm a lightweight these days and always get a sliced brisket sandwich. Sandwich was great with a mix of lean/moist. Wife got a "Bob-Bert" sandwich (1/3 meat, pico and green chile ranch) she got chopped brisket, which I tried to advise against, but it was fucking delicious. Potato salad was fantastic, super creamy with a tang. Mac and cheese was solid, but pretty standard. Apple Cobbler we took home and had later that night. Really solid place if you're in the area and have a couple hours to spare. Old Town Spring seems like a neat little place and is just what it sounds like.
  5. It was there in the mid-late 90's and around for longer than a few months. Many a Hand Grenade were consumed. We even bought a pack of Hand grenade mix and turned our home ozarka machine into a dispenser 🤣
  6. 1000%
  7. Heading out to Spring for something and wanted to stop by Corkscrew. I won't get out there until 12:45/1:00pm...are they going to be out of a bunch of shit by that time?
  8. Looks like I'm a few years behind (and it was recently added to Netflix) but I just started Your Honor with Brian Cranston. Great cast and I'm a sucker for crime dramas
  9. You misspelled 85 years
  10. Just sales shenanigans. We would leave notes for one of the reps to return the call of a prospect Pete Zahut- then the # of a local pizza hut We had a girl call the Houston Zoo asking to "speak with Mr. Lyon"
  11. Hopefully Helobius
  12. The brave fans, donning their maroon Magellan fishing shirts for what could be the last time as they head to the front lines to take on their orange nemesis. It's a fierce firefight through the concourse as both opponents advance toward the coveted "foot long" hotdog stand. It will be a battle of wills. "Give me army full of West Pointers, and I will win a battle. Give me a handful of Aggies, and I will win a war."
  13. Imagine being on summer vacation (I assume) and dressing like you're going to a fucking tailgate. WTF
  14. Seeing "Davis" reminded me when we fleeced the Orioles for Pete Harnisch, Curt Schilling and Steve Finley for Glenn Davis. 😆

Longtime (41 years) Mandola place Damian's in midtown is closing in August.
  16. This post got me thinking... Is this...or what is the biggest/longest necro-bump in site history? Since I'm just seeing this thread, lets get it going again.. Anything black and white or old classics other than Wizard of Oz, Freaks, or It's a Wonderful Life. I've never seen Jurassic Park or 2001
  17. Krempin ain't easy. 255 lbs is something. This guy the 4* version of Max Merrill?
  18. www.cbssips.com am i right?
  19. He put pins in my hip in 5th grade. Great guy. Nice. Maybe that's his thing? I've got 2 small plates and 6 or so screws in the ol ankle Speaking of former QB's..Marty Akins' son was a fraternity brother of mine. Had a nice party out at his house in Horseshoe Bay
  20. He did my ankle surgery in 93/94 somewhere in there.. When I told my parents(both UT grads and football fans) who the Dr. was, they were both like "The QB?"
  21. I really don't know what that team in the field was even doing..
  22. We're still without power in Montrose. We seem to be in a weird little pocket as the only couple of blocks in the area without power. Slept on couch downstairs last night as upstairs was considerably warmer. This blows.
  23. That was intense. Got the weather alert about 6:15, no real time to do anything. Lost power around 7. We're in Montrose and was able to go to HEB to pick up something to eat, wine, beer and ice...so weird the blocks immediately west of us all had power...we're still in the dark. Luckily it wasn't blazing hot last night and could sleep with the windows open. Some of the videos I've seen of downtown are crazy. Wells Fargo building was shredded by what looked like a tornado
