I think it's hard to distinguish vocalists and singers.. I like unique, raw, emotional vocalists. While they may or may not be "good" singers, they're fucking great to me. Dolores O'Riordan (Cranberries) Vedder Cornell (although he is an amazing singer) Cobain John Bell (widespread panic) Dr. John Tom Waits Jason Isbell Patterson Hood I think it all comes down to personal preference
  2. This, I get. I would do the same. These folks are exiting the freeway and getting right back on....They're trying to get around freeway traffic by "going around" it on the feeder and getting back on ahead of where they think they would've been....if that makes sense?
  3. Wife and I started and finished it over the weekend. Enjoyed it. Really loved the kind of side/background comments they sneak in. It's easy to sit watching it and think "this is so unbelievable" and a completely different thing to be in it in real time. Really well done though..
  4. The dreaded compound thigh hernia.. Ya hate to see it..
  5. I can't imagine more cars merging back onto the interstate they just exited will improve traffic flow..but what do I know?
  6. I live in Central Houston and work on the West side of town. I get on/off I-10 at Heights/Yale. On about 7:45 and off about 5:30-ish. EVERY DAY some dipshits exit the freeway, stay in that lane and get right back on. EVERY FUCKING DAY. What is the point of this? Are you "getting ahead" in traffic by that much? I don't get it...
  7. This is where we stay when we visit my in-laws. They live down the street. It's a great hotel. that being said, my wife is going solo in a couple weeks and they're completely booked..
  8. Once it gets cooler, wife and I will bike there. Fuck that lot.
  9. With those hours I wouldn't have made it either. Fuck that. I only worked special events/concerts etc. Didn't drive a route or anything like that. I did get to drive one of my managers and the Bud Girls around for the Super Bowl one year.. Packers/Patriots...96?
  10. @LTtxfan This one..sealing the W?
  11. It's 100% going to be "Try that in a Small Town" isn't it?
  12. I worked for Brown Distributing (Budweiser dist) while in school. We worked the Buffett show at Southpark Meadows mid 90's Those fuckers set a record with the amount of kegs we had to run and switch out. Fucking Parrotheads. I always thought I Don't Know (Spicoli's theme song) from Fast Times was funny. It's a Buffett song. 😆
  13. Went to Burger Bodega on Saturday. Cool little place, good burger. I could've eaten 2. Good smash style burger with crispy edges. Added jalapeños (fresh) Will try the Chopped cheese next visit.
  14. "Bro-Country" wasn't a term until 2013 and was more about who was singing and listening than anything to do with lyrics. Muscle-y, tanned, and tattooed "bros" singing about whatever is bro country...to me. But if you're going to retroactively apply it, you'd need to look at Toby Keith, not Alan Jackson or Brooks & Dunn
  15. Loved Platonic Rose Byrne is hilarious...her and Rogen make a good pair. Now watching Hijack with Idris Elba. It's ok. It's not believable or realistic at all, but entertaining enough...I guess. It's gotten more and more "dumb" as it's gone on...Think we're 5 eps in?
  16. Lol, what is happening in here?
  17. WTF? Is this a bit?
  18. Mo Blackwell Jr.
  19. Shocking Elon Musk made the same leap.
  20. Loosey goosey!
  21. Watched the first 2 yesterday. Will keep watching. Didn't know Morgan Freeman was in it.
  22. Don't get the Charleston hate either. Went in my early 30's and pretty proud we actually did some cool "grown up" stuff. Handsome cab history tour, open market, couple nice dinners. Of course the rest of the time we did drugs, went to a concert, got shitfaced/sunburned on Folly Beach and went to a crab boil at a friends house. It's good to have a balance of learning something with the dumbshit shenanigans.
  23. Maybe this is common knowledge here, but this is the first I'm hearing about it. In searching for #41's during my time on campus. Came across Mark Super. He was # 41. Googling him brought up some interesting images/stories.. https://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/crime/article243772462.html?fbclid=IwAR3WjXSEDiQBAedltiDF-ySVeLucw_LQc6s6_xCl9IjGf9NG_A0l1xPzc94
  24. I love ski towns in the summer, should be able to get to some around six hours with flight/drive combo if there's no direct flight. I'd 2nd the Seattle rec...you could go into Canada/Vancouver Toronto?
