  1. Free Drivin N Cryin Show tomorrow in Houston at the Rustic https://www.prekindle.com/promo/id/530585115428728578
  2. Just finished Season 1 of Broadchurch. Solid British crime/murder mystery.
  3. Final iteration of One Fifth coming in March I can’t believe that we have only 18 months left at One Fifth Houston. What a ride it’s been. When we started this crazy idea, I said to myself that if we come out of this restaurant experiment with one concept, we succeeded. If we came out with two concepts that we want to run long-term, then it was a huge success. Well, we opened Georgia James and we are actively looking for a location for the Mediterranean concept which is awesome! With all of this being said, we need to figure out what the next concept is going to be here at One Fifth. This is where it gets fun. I woke up this morning and started thinking about the building’s wood burning oven—arguably the oldest wood burning oven in the city—and we have never cooked a pizza for a guest in that oven. No, I don’t want to do a pizza place for 11 months but I would do it for a few. Then I thought about that with a lot of different concepts and came to the realization: Why not do them all? Crazy, right? So here we go! On March 23rd we are going to close One Fifth Gulf Coast and move into One Fifth (for the lack of better words) Lightning Round. We will start with Vietnamese on March 25 and then move through other ideas and concepts without giving them a time limit. I want to try as much as I can but still giving each one our full devotion. This will be arguably the most challenging thing we have ever done, but the team is ready. We will not release what concepts are in the future, and we’ll give three weeks notice before we close a concept. I know it’s confusing, but I don’t want to end the 5 years and think “what if or why didn’t we” try something. One Fifth is all about education and learning and experimenting and exploring, and we have so much to explore in such a short time. I hope you all enjoy the ride with us and understand that this is insane in the best way possible. I wanna go fast. Who wants to ride with me? #AlwaysLearning
  4. Strake Jesuit and St.Thomas will no longer be playing each other. 55 years of history in Houston, down the drain. SJ is apparently going to start up a yearly game with Dallas Jesuit.
  5. Watched Joker on my flight yesterday. Damn. Phoenix was pretty incredible and worthy of all his awards.
  6. While I think he's Top 15 although he has plateaued this year...maybe even slid back a little. He's perfect for what the Rockets need him to do, but he's just not playing very well this year.
  7. Jesus, what an abortion. Sims was the best player on the court last night and you go away from him to set screens for the shittiest shooters in the country? Nice work, fuckhead.
  8. St Johns changed in early 2000's Westbury changed in 2014 along with the Lamar Redskins Flintridge Prep Paladins. that sounds cool.
  9. Seattle? Not sure about the racetrack part..or traffic for that matter.
  10. You should start your drinking day with a frozen Irish Coffee from Erin Rose. You can also score a killer po-boy from the back...you know as kind of just an appetizer with your drink.
  11. Hmmmm guessing maybeTyler Owens? He's got a pretty big frame that could add 15lbs or so?
  12. You can adopt a Golden. There are breed specific rescues you can use. https://www.goldenretrievers.org/ https://www.grr-tx.com/ https://gbgrr.org/about/ I think the reason people jump in, at least the reason I jumped in, was to present it as an option. Texas has a huge overpopulation/homeless dog problem. Houston alone has an estimated 1M homeless pets. When those dogs are taken to high kill shelters, 85% are euthanized. Obviously the OP can do whatever he wants and that's fine. Hell, my first dog was a pure-bred lab from a friend's champion bloodline.
  13. I didn't wake up but wife did....Montrose here too. Do any of y'all remember the Salt Dome explosion in the early 90's? I think it was in Brenham. That was 70+ miles away and rattled my windows in West Houston. Crazy.
  14. Yeah, they were really good. Had a great time.
  15. Just bought tix for this too. Wife and I are going in blind. Haven't heard one note, but a friend and his wife are going and they see all kinds of music, so I trust him. Will listen to some at work today Quite refreshing to be able to get 2 tickets for under $40. lulz
  16. Crawfish bread... Link to all the "night" shows. Lots of great shit that is added as they are booked. http://www.jazzfestgrids.com/
  17. Used to live there. Great skiing/boarding I would stay in Ketchum. Closer to River Run/Warm Springs lifts....plus all the bars and restaurants. Sun Valley is basically just the Lodge/Resort/Golf. Dollar Mountain is over there....it's beginners/kids hill and snowboard terrain park. Kneadery for Breakfast Sawtooth Club- "nice" restaurant on Main St. Casino- Dive Bar Grumpy's- Schooners and burgers Lefty's- was our hangout...beer/bar food/pool, good jukebox (at the time) Whiskey Jacques- Dive bar. Live Music Warfield distillery- It was something else when I was there, but there is a killer roof deck. There are probably a bunch of new places, but those above were all there when I lived there and are still going.
