  1. yeah from Seward Alaska, a great place. They have an awesome mountain race every year around the 4th of July.
  2. Yes, I agree eventually that is the case. But I think the mega conferences will take several years to develop. The AAC is a landing spot for the immediate term. Baylor and Kansas might go directly into the ACC, especially Kansas. But it might take Baylor a year or two to land there. I wouldn't be too sure the PAC survives. If the B1G does expend, then its first targets will be UCLA and CAL and USC just out of association. They are very proud of their academics in the B1G and the research trust generates over 5x what athletics generates in grants. They won't share that with just anyone, hence why ou wasn't acceptable to them. They might also poach Oregon. I think a good number of the members of the PAC will be left like the Big 12 searching desperately for a new home.
  3. I think a lot of what's left ends up in the AAC. And it isn't the end of the world with the expanded playoffs. They'll turn it into a pretty good basketball league too if they Kansas and Baylor.
  4. Well at least we have someone who has wrecked shop on SEC defenses. he shouldn't be too concerned once he gets his athletes
  5. the horns down discussion is the biggest crock of bullshit out there. we don't give a fuck if anyone does the horns down. you settle that shit on the field
  6. don't think that's possible. it was a back end loaded contract and most of that money is probably gone. If ESPN allows that, then damn!
  7. Have you heard anything about Sark's reaction?
  8. Haven't seen this posted here yet, but I haven't been on every page.
  9. Someone a few pages back posted the yahoo sports podcast. it was a good listen. They said from what they've heard Sark had no idea this was coming. Does anyone have any insight into whether or not Sark was in the loop.
  10. True. what most people don't realize is how different the south is from Texas. Those of us who have live in the south have discovered just how different. They (the SEC) realizes individually that they aren't as strong as Texas, but collectively they know they can and will control things. They'll smile at you and slap you on the back and tell you what you want to hear, then when you leave the room they'll stab you in the back over and over again and do whatever they can to keep you subjugated to their rule. It's going to be a rude awakening for many.
  11. with a a 12 team playoff, they might drop the conference championship game, or the other extreme perhaps they have a semifinals and finals with the pod winners
  12. That would be the pussiest pod possible. good luck with that dream
  13. There is so much still to be determined from a cash perspective. Will the SEC share Texas' and ou's $76 million buy out of the TV deal? Will Texas just walk away from the back loaded LHN deal and leave another $100mm on the table. There are some real $s here that need to be worked out.
  14. aggie is pissed off enough that Texas is getting in, they will be super pissed if they go pods and their pod makes them play OU and Texas every year. If we go pods, I think aggie gets lsu and the mississippis
  15. We'll have to see what pod/division we land in. I'm sure that has already been decided. But, I bet you'll be surprised at least initially. A 12 week college football schedule is a grind. Marquee matchups will happen in the playoffs, especially going to a 12 team playoff. It becomes an IQ test at some point. The perceived quality of the SEC is enough, why do anything to tarnish perception by taking the chance of losing OOC. In the Big 12 we had something to prove, that is about to go away.
  16. Everyone is loving kicking Texas right now. Texas has been average, because we've hired average coaches. But during all the SEC bravado talk about how mediocre we've been since we won the title, we still kicked Georgia ass in the Sugar Bowl as a big dog. The SEC has moved a little bit offensively over the past couple of years, mostly because of Sark. They are going to learn that it's not easy to prepare for Sark and Riley in 3 days. Texas and OU will do very well in the SEC. You have to put us in the same division/pod. But think about it, Saban is old as fuck, he's not going to be there forever and once he's gone Bama will return to the pre Saban days and you'll have possibly the 2 best teams in the same pod/division
  17. I disagree. We'll have no need to prove the size of our dicks (or clits) once we join the SEC. As mdmost correctly stated it's also about home games and forcing schools to take a pay day. We'll see tOSU in the playoffs
  18. and we will be scheduling 3 cupcakes once we join, at least I hope we do. The SEC also has a 1 power five requirement that I believe just went into effect; I bet that is dropped with 9 conference games. we will be playing 3 cupcakes a year. That is so huge from a recuperation perspective throughout the season.
  19. Everything you said is spot on, but I bet it doesn't happen. It will be the placating item given to A&M.
  20. Pods are the better idea, we just have to convince the SEC to play 9 conference games, they've been skating by with 8 and 3 (sisters of the poor) +1 (power five bottom dweller)
  21. they will and in a way they deserve it after getting shafted for so many years in the sec relative to bama
