  1. Taco's are insanely expensive. 215K is a lot of miles, even for them. Can he handle a full size? Neighbor just picked up a Nissan Titan. Have another friend with one as well. They are great, great trucks with that big 5.6l engine. Does he "need" 4x4?
  2. Don't you know, ag arrogance is only a thing vs Texas. Ask Tech fans back in the day how the ags treated and looked down on them?
  3. What the actual fuck is that garbage? Good God, I can't unsee it.....is that ketchup?
  4. It's situational. Outside, open parking lot, nobody else around - you can keep your distance. Crowded store, apartment, kids in close proximity, changes the calculus. At the end of the day they need more training across the board. I have a friend that does training with many precincts. Many of them are 6 month classes (for the cadets to become cops). Many of those months are doing paperwork and other administrative stuff. They're not trained on what to do when somebody puts their hands on you. De-escalation training, etc. It falls to the training officer...who you HOPE knows what they are doing, etc. This is also why the advent of the SWAT teams came to be - front line dudes didn't know what to do, have the right gear, and again, training. Whitman in a tower, sure. Anyone remember years back that lady that drive a semi that was hijacked in DFW? Big OJ-esq chase down the freeway. SWAT dudes everywhere. What happened? They finally spiked the tires, and this scrappy old bird wrestles the gun away from this crackhead, and jumps out of the cab. The end. What did SWAT do that any well trained officer couldn't? Another dude I know is a cop in small-town, AL. They don't have much of a budget, so most of the policemen are also SWAT trained. They do some wild stuff, that nothing a "dedicated" SWAT team would be needed for. Few examples he told me: Trailer part. Old disabled vet had his grandkids over. Dude had a live grenade (Vietnam maybe?). Little kid finds it, goes outside, pulls the pin, chucks it. Goes maybe a few feet. It smokes, by the grace of god doesn't go off. Primer corroded. They roll in, just dig a hole, fill it with det cord, have their little robot thingy push it in the hole. Boom. Live video feed from outside a house. News is there for a "most dangerous" fugitive on the run. Most wanted kind of stuff. You hear a loud bang in the background. They set det cord on the front door, breached from the back. Grabbed the dude. The end. Not Jason Bourne shit at all. Another trailer part. Another old vet. Another kid involved. Can't make this shit up. Alabama football (pre-Saban) is losing, and this old fucker in a wheelchair shoots the TV. Teenager comes in, he starts popping rounds off into the ceiling from his old service-issue 1911. They come in. First question. Does he keep any other mags with him? They count the shots. Then calmly walk in, flip the chair. Cuff him. Off they go. None of this is sexy or wild. Spend the budget on situational training and stress inoculation. Not on fucking MRAPS and .50 BMGs that they never use. And get some of these fat fucks a gym membership. Jesus, some of these dudes would pass out trying to tie their own shoes.
  5. If it's policy, then fine, but that old FBI 21ft thing isn't really a thing anymore.
  6. IF, IF, IF....If MI was even remotely close to what they were last year? If OU didn't suck a big bag of dicks? If LSU wasn't as bad as they've been in a decade? If MO wasn't vastly overrated and collapsed in on themselves? How about IF the ags actually put up some semblance of a fight on their own field the outcome might have look different. We can play this stupid game all night.
  7. I've been mixing in larger pieces of wood lately and less lump. I'll take a piece of cured oak, cut a section about the size of a large coconut, put it in the middle of the bowl and ring lump around it and light on one side. When I take the food out to wrap, I can reevaluate how much more wood to add. Bark's never been better. You can also add different woods later like pecan chunks to mix up the flavor profile or go sweeter for pork like apple/cherry.
  8. They can, but much less than a semi, especially using subs intentionally.
  9. Or just use a revolver? Anyone who's had to clear a jam under duress knows your fine motor skills go to shit. That's what I can't wrap my head around. Dude was just too calm and collected to be a "normal" guy unless he has a background in this? And if he has a background in this, why use a jinky ass pistol that doesn't cycle? Whole thing is just odd.
  10. Correct. Three live rounds found and three spent cartridges. Live rounds seems weird? A "pro" seemingly would be better prepared, but man that dude was calm and collected in the video.
  11. Just saw this. He's manually ejecting each round into his left hand. Not sure why the pistol didn't eject them automatically? Watered down hand loads? It obviously was a hit, just not sure if it was a disgruntled dude or a pro? He sure seemed calm and collected. You can practice for years at the range, but most still get the yips in high-stress settings.
  12. Just saw this, see my post above about the problems with using 22 sub's in a semi. They don't produce enough pressure to cycle another round and that's exactly what it looks like is happening in the video. Not seeing him pick up his brass, was this stated as what happened?
  13. Same benefits of a revolver. No identifiable brass that can be tied back to the pistol. In this case, sub-sonic 22's are basically an empty shell case with the primer providing the gas pressure. It's enough to fire, but "normal" semi-auto's won't cycle the round and it can jam inside the gun. You also have sound concerns. The cocking of a revolvers hammer and the striking of the firing pin. The cycling of a semi-auto bolt is actually not all that quiet either.
  14. You always need a bevvy of different sized foil boats. If you have one that fits, fill it with sand or water to act as that thermal barrier. I ran dozens of smokes with a foil wrapped metal pizza tray over the fire. Then on the lower rack I had a square foil boat with water/beer/etc. Turned out great.
  15. If you need it now, I've used foil/metal pizza trays and they worked well enough.
  16. Anyone lamenting private healthcare should have something major done at the VA.....whew boy...... Not me personally, but I've seen family/friends have to deal with that nightmare.
  17. Saw a "Dallas Chicken" in London. Did not sample.
  18. Thread, country, and civilization needs saving. Korean hotties to the rescue No, more.....!!!!
  19. GOOD! Fuck those mean ass, cobra chickens!
  20. Hhhmmmm. Couple of things. Coat doesn't look like an Ocelot, but maybe it's the distortion of the pic? I "think" I see a longer tail, so that rules out a bobcat "if" that shadow is a longer tail. So maybe it's a big ass feral cat.
