  3. I wake up next to a strange woman. She is the bartender at Katz's. She is not pretty.
  4. Dropped on the buttstock and the mountings on the scope were loose and shifter slightly would be my guess.
  5. Anti trans accusation maybe? That Kirk notices bulges in transwomen clothing and doesn't treat them as women but as biological men? I don't know?
  6. Kids father turned him in. Apparently drove shooter to the station himself. No
  7. Agreed. Not in the same universe of a rifle stock or any other type of weapon
  8. That 100% looks like racoon shit
  9. One, two, Freddy's coming for you.... Three, four, better lock the door.... I would say the OG slasher is still Psycho. Hearing from the olds, that messed people up. Like not showering alone in the house for weeks.
  10. OK, clarified it via the googles - they understood parachutes, they weren't afraid of jumping, they took the officer literally, and thought he meant jumping without parachutes - and five dudes still raised their hands. Maybe not true. Don't care. Still a cool story.
  11. Time to call in the Gurkhas Heard this story on a podcast a while back - let's assume it's true for the sake of how bad ass Gurkhas are. British army was spinning up a new parachute regiment and wanted to include the Gurks. They were asked how many wanted to jump out of airplanes! Five raised their hands. Officer was puzzled, as he'd heard the tales of how fearless these guys are. He talks to their commanding officer. He then understands that the Gurks didn't understand the concept of a "parachute", and these five tough SOB's took the literal meaning of jumping out of an airplane! When explained, of course 100% of them volunteered. Wild shit.
  12. I still remember the buzz around Blair Witch Project. Is it real? Who produced it? You HAVE to see it, it's all self-filmed, etc. It was marketing genius and spawned so many other 1st-person and/or paranormal movies.
  13. Recently new Nepali place opened in Frisco - "Base Camp". Been there a few times. Not too shabby.
  14. Batman was safe to take your kids to. Blade was not. That's the era it ushered in. The language. The violence. It was an adult-only film that many people didn't think was possible.
  15. I'd disagree. SM came out in 2002. Blade was already on it's sequel by then and has largely been recognized as the first Marvel movie that proved that comic adaptations could appeal to adults. Also the first black superhero actor, etc. If you want to talk the most influential Marvel movie, you have to give it to Iron Man in '08. There'd been multiple Super and Spiderman movies prior.
  16. Dude. Dewd. Dood......Blade is the OG. Started it all. It was the first bad ass, action packed hero Marvel movie that made enough money to spawn a trilogy. Further, it wasn't a kids movie. It was dark and gritty and proved the concept that there was a massive audience for this type of film. First one is awesome (special effects are a little dated). Second one was equally awesome. Skip the 3rd one. Warmed over kitten shit.
  17. If we're talking genre inspiring shit, and I'm going to pivot a little to directors, but John Hughes! 16 candles, then Breakfast Club, then Weird Science, to Ferris! THAT was my childhood. Then the whole Lampoons series (Christmas was the best. Don't even fucking argue)
  18. I love me some Pulp Fiction, but it was more of an homage to earlier movies than a genre defining movie in it's own right. Pulp Mags, crime stuff, and cheesy 70's movies. Same with the Kill Bill line and of course One Upon a Time in Hollywood. It was the dialogue that made it so great (IMHO).
  19. Didn't watch the AL/FSU game - had a strong feeling FSU was going to do exactly what they did. The MI coach is in over his head and it's showing. He's a good coach, but overwhelmed. It's not a good fit. MI/OU was also predictable. A freshman on the road with no real ability to stretch the field going against a team that is only good at stopping the run. The season will expose both teams as being meh....
