  1. Not at all. Family went to our old church, so we still new a lot of the people at the service. Lots of kids know each other. Friends of friends. Lots of older (relatively), ranch style houses in that part of town. Few McMansions. Many more apartment complexes. Just "normal" as it gets I guess?
  2. Yep. "old" Frisco is just as blue-collar as anywhere. Lots of new apartments as well all over to allow people to take advantage of the school districts without having to buy a house.
  3. Yeah, that would make a hell of a truck/hiking/camping/HD option for all the reasons I mentioned above with the Ruger carbine, but in an even more compact option.
  4. No sir, that .22mag is fun as hell to shoot and would ruin someone's day if you had to use it. The Ruger carbine is fantastic. It's my top suggestion for HD for a new gun owner. You can load higher cap mags, minimal recoil, less report than a 5.56 and much less concerns of wall penetration and because you can anchor it to your shoulder and get two hands on it, it's more accurate for a newb to use. And they are fun as hell, which promotes more familiarity and competency with it
  5. They brought in as many kids as they could, but once in the "pipeline", they found certain specialties were better suited for certain jobs. Deflection shooting is hard to learn and hard to teach, especially with bombers clustered together. They tried to mitigate this by staggering the planes vertically and laterally, but it was what it was. To teach it, many services started gunners with shotguns and clay targets - which as you can imagine, a certain segment of the population was more comfortable with than others.
  6. Haven't watched the video yet, but I read that they targeted lots of rural and Midwest kids that grew up bird hunting because they understand the concept of 'deflection shooting', ie. leading your target. Same reason mechanized units loved them, as they grew up around large farm equipment and knew how to work on them, fix them, etc.
  7. I'm pretty close to this and the parents put out a statement earlier indicating that neither boy had any prior contact with one another and there had been no earlier altercations. This could be a giant smokescreen to try and downplay any indications that this was premeditated. We'll have to see this play out.
  8. We do have a grocery store with a bar inside. All the gray-hairs hang out there and the bartender knows my beer as soon as I walk in and starts pouring it so I can walk around with a drink
  9. It’s godundme. They can use the money on strippers and blow if they want.
  10. Maybe from the family themselves As stated. They are claiming threats and online harassment so they are moving to a gated community and stating that they need additional security.
  11. i thought this was common knowledge? As a father of two, one of the kids that had a friend with ADHD, was put on meds, and he's now tiny. What I always thought was that it severely inhibits your appetite - which causes the slower growth cycle, not the actual meds themselves.
  12. New word is the family is using a large portion of the gofund me money and using it but a 500K+ house. Claims of threats, etc. It's their money, they can do what they like with it, but from a legal perspective, does this seem wise? There is also word they changed lawyers yet again - this time it's Kim T. Cole of Next Generation Action Network Foundation.
  13. Can you sensitive twats take this quote in context. This was a question to the lawyers that love to opine on just about everything on an actual legal question: switching legal teams this early in the process. Is this usual, or a result of now having deep pockets, going after an expensive ringer?
  14. How do you know someone is vegan, a cross-fitter, or a lawyer? They'll tell you.....over, and over, and over.....;)
  15. I can tell you from local feedback many don't understand how bail/bond works and there has been concern that this is somehow an indication of reduced charges/leniency which is simply not the case. I had the conversation with my daughter on the drive last night from a game that innocent until proven guilty is a statute that everyone receives. This is not an indication of the trial, but pre-trial processes that are afforded to everyone. She gets it, but it was of course reactionary from someone in the impacted community.
  16. Does the amount of the bond also have any relationship to the means of the defendant and/or their potential to flee the country/state?
  17. Lol, same. We had to have a fire source near it, and even that didn't do much - but when gas it contained and ignites it has a thermobaric effect
  18. I've always heard to open all the doors and windows, call 911 and then spark a fat cigar and throw it in the direction of the house.
  19. OR....back to crazy girlfriends, "The housewives debris in low orbit" has a better ring to it. Bezos back a the launch command
