  1. Nice. Driving back from Austin Sunday and got caught in the rain storm. Guy in a convertible C8 stopped under a bridge on the tollway near Mockingbird, engaged the retractable roof, stopped in a turn lane, then came roaring back past me and everyone else. Gave me a case of the happy pants....
  2. Simple, bulletproof, trucks. Not much else you need to say. You can expect 250-300K miles out of them with basic maintenance. No frills. Minimal tech. But they just keep performing YOY. I was always a Ford guy, but I also keep my trucks 9-10 years, and after 140k+/- miles each Ford started to shit the bed and the repairs got more and more expensive. This is why they hold their value so well The only "tech" I really need is Bluetooth. I run everything through my phone anyway (GPS, podcasts, etc.). Two things I miss: auto-folding mirrors and an outlet in the cab to plug in something like a laptop. I'd get a "cat" guard, as they are targets for catalytic converter theft (here), but other than that they are monsters. I got the 2019 TRD Pro, so it does have the leather seats. The stock Michelin AT2 tires are fine in town, but I had issues at the ranch so I upgraded to larger, Cooper AT tires. The bed is covered and full of soccer crap. Chairs, stadium seats, blankets, umbrellas, etc. The cabin is massive. We took a trip with both kids and both dogs and they all were fine in the backseat.
  3. I've used that line on a few coeds in my day...
  4. Another thing, the long latch above the tailgate - you pull the cord/string to unlock it and fold it back on either side. Don't slam that 3rd panel down when shutting. One, as noted it can will bend, especially on the edges/tips. Two, that release mechanism can detach over time. At the end, when I sold the older truck, the 3rd panel was bent and couldn't lock. I just hinged up/down. I never kept anything important in there, but it pissed me off when it broke. They're not cheap.
  5. I have that same bed cover. Had them on previous trucks for years and they work great for keeping crap in the bad out of sight and locked down. What I did learn is that those aluminum panels are soft. I got caught out in what i thought was a fairly minor hail storm. Zero damage to the truck itself, but that bed cover looked like someone took a ballpeen hammer to it. I never replaced it and it still functioned as needed, but aesthetically it was beat up.
  6. I interpreted it as most of the plains tribes saw torture as BAU. You just never gave yourself up, as torture was acceptable and standard for almost all of them tribes.
  7. Beat me to it - Wrath of the Khan's is to me, the single best podcast series I've ever listened to (Dan Carlin). Mongol's were a coordinated, orchestrated wrath of God. Comanches were early adopters to the horse, but nothing compared to the well trained, well discipled Mongol riders who would time their shots when all four legs of the bounding/galloping horse were in the air. The bows they used were also superior to the NA bows in almost every way.
  8. Yeah, have a friend with two of them and I've spent quite a bit of time with both. I really, really like them. Just have to keep your fingers away from the cylinders, as they are on the bottom and you will have some gas escape from both sides. One thing of note, see the flat sides of the cylinders? They sit flush in your holster and don't stick out quite as much as a traditional round cylinder.
  9. Yep, but unlike the Tesla that you can't take anywhere outside of a metropolitan area that has chargers, the Chap's actually work really well.
  10. Last week's "weather" system had the girls a little motivated
  11. On the wheel-gun side of the house, Chiappas are focused on the same ergonomics with the bore firing off the bottom cylinder and not the top. I really like them, they are just so damn proud of them.
  12. Meh, it's just what he is comfortable with. Most ranges have lots of options to rent. I tried with Glock43, just couldn't make it work. I also know more people carrying a Shield or Shield 2.0 than any other option. Check them out as well. My old girl
  13. I know where they came from...
  14. So many options, it's hard to know where to start. I went with the P365 because I'm a Sig fanboy. If I wanted to really look at the perfect option, the P365XL Spectre Comp is pretty slick. At the end of the day, it's the Indian, not the arrow. Just pick one and dive in after you shop around some. I'm not a huge fan of 1911's for carry. The smaller ones ( I have heard) have more issues that the full size frames in terms of reliability and they are much heavier than the polymer options. I keep my 1911 near the bed or open carry at the ranch.
  15. Not the most sophisticated fix, but I have a stock mount one of my rifles with a raised gel cheek pad. Might help bridge the gap between what you have and what are buying?
  16. Micah needs to get off all social media. Comes off a petulant child
  17. Yep. Campo was on the radio talking about how small the Dallas defense has been trending. They desperately need help at LB. Vander went down, Overshown got hurt, that fatty from MI was a bust. It's easy to neutralize Micah by running right at him. Injuries in the secondary If Dallas isn't up and putting the other team in passing situations, they struggle
