  1. Yep. Had a friend with a 7mag "mountain rifle" that absolutely sucked to fire. It was so light the recoil/report was just not fun to practice with (I was thinking about borrowing). 30-06 with 180gr pills will take just about anything in N.America with decent placement.
  2. I still have the twitches from guys at open bay shooting ranges with muzzle breaks and magnums. So damn loud and the overpressure slams into you each and every time when they are next to you.
  3. And never, ever, ever sit next to me at the range.....;)
  4. Applewhite also had both knees shredded against the Pigs at the Cotton Bowl. He rehabbed throughout the year and was limited practicing with the first team - opening the door to Simms who the majority of the reps.
  5. Lot to unpack here. For a jack of all trade's rifle, caliber "up", meaning go big. In this case, 300 Winnie would make the most sense. It's also a fairly common round and access to ammo isn't as difficult as say Weatherby/Lapua. Especially if you are travelling. Of the myriad of rifles mentioned, you really can't go wrong with any of them. They are all high quality. If a carbon barrel is your choice, then that will narrow things down. I'd add the Savage Impulse. If you like Tikka, check out the t3X Lite-D-18. I'm a big fan of both lines. Christensen are basically semi-custom rifles and sweet shooters. At the end of the day, you will have a great rifle, good glass, and it will come down to practice and familiarity with the platform. Especially shooting with sticks, on the move, and with an elevated heart rate.
  6. Locked in the same vault as the Kennedy tapes
  7. He's kissing up to the inevitable after the rest of the conference has finally disowned them - atm is circling the drain and Texas just made the CFP. And they have to play Sark next season
  8. Okay boys, it's not a matter of "if" they get out, but a matter of "when" 43000 monkeys - Houston reminds me of the old game cam pic from years back that made the rounds
  9. There was a white elephant gift over xmas - a little cannon like that with a breach for actual black powder that fired BBs. Dammit I wanted it. Wife get another Stanley.....F me.
  10. All true, but I was more concerned about starting the game and gaining control of the pace and tempo. Early drives quickly stalled out. In fact, the first drive of the game, it's 3rd and 15, and Baxter converts. That was the lightbulb moment for me. We seemed to have a script that Sark wanted to stick to. I'm still hungover.....
  11. F'ing this. To see WA attack Texas' weakness and to not reciprocate was malpractice on the coaching staff. It was as if the team trotted out a roadmap of each play for each series and never deviated from it, despite all the evidence of what was working and what was not.
  12. I do like a return man with a cast on one arm….
  13. Over/under on Penix getting sacked or worthy catching a ball…..
  14. This. Shitty preparation. Shitty execution. Lack of any adaptation during the game to take advantage of obvious weaknesses in the WA team that were well known before the game. This is a fast, aggressive, but undersized defense. Grind them down, keep their offense off the field.
  15. Can this team not run of hurry up, run-heavy offense and wear WA down.
