  1. I kid, I kid. It does beg the obvious question about actors that have stood up multiple franchises with multiple movies and done them equally well Stallone - Rocky, Rambo, Expendables Ford - Indiana Jones and Han Solo Arnold - Terminator & Conan Tom Cruise - Too many to count Keanu - John Wick and The Matrix I'm sure there are others
  2. Saw once - dang......so clean
  3. Yeah, I'd assume that it takes a few years in the pipeline just to be able to be a firefighter, here or abroad. Then you actually start doing the job. He could also apply his intellect at any number of non-profit agencies/shelters. He won't make much money, but it can scratch the itch.
  4. Does he know any firefighters? Half our family on the wife's side are in or retired FF's. They see some gnarly shit. It's not for everyone. One friend of the family saw his first family disaster involving fatalities and that was it. He was done. For many it's a calling, so I might have the candid conversation about whether this is you scratching the itch to serve, or is this something you can see yourself doing for an extended period of time. It's also very competitive. More and more are leaning this route vs LEO or military, so check up on who you are competing against.
  5. He has a gig
  6. You new here? It's like our thing....
  7. Flight to Vietnam years back - I'm tucked in and this sweet Asian woman and her very little girl take the seats next to me. I'm thinking fuck my life.....that little girl was the sweetest little thing ever. Never cried. Just sang, colored, read books, slept well. Had a few moments, but nothing wild. Mom didn't speak much English, but I think she got how amazing her little girl was when I was complimenting them both. Fast forward to a flight to Sweden - SIX screaming kids just in our section of the plane. One kid was in serious pain and mom's took turns holding and rocking this poor little dude. I fly quite a bit and I can honestly say I've never seen any type of blowup or altercation either on the plane or at the gate other than sometimes people bringing food that stinks up the place. Fingers crossed.....
  8. What's wild, is these early gas-operated rifles and how they operate have changed very little through the ages. Like most rifles, we are primarily seeing just advances in construction material and calibers. Take that rifle, shorten the barrel, add a high-capacity mag, and mount optics - and any competent QRC team could clear a house or take a target with it. They won't love it. It's heavier and probably not as robust in the field, but at it's core, it's not that different.
  9. Where do we start - you have the main players: Wilson, Nighthawk, Les Baer, Dan Wesson, and Ed Brown. Those are all 1911's. These are generational pistols if you take care of them. More accurate than they need to be and milled to exacting specifications (so keep them clean). HK 23 is a high-end "tactical" option that you can suppress. CZ Shadow is super clean and of course you have all the crazy modified polymer aftermarket options like Glock. If I was shopping for one, I have this love affair with the Dan Wesson bobtail with the 4.5 inch barrel.
  10. None of this adds up. He's been hurt every year he's been here. Can he last a full season? If he was hurt, where were the plays for Arch? If he wasn't really hurt, is he covering for bad play for his boy?
  11. That's a reach. Did you forget all the years Mack refused to play demonstrably better freshmen simply because they were freshmen? He had this bug up his ass for years about it, and if they did play, it was always after the RRS.
  12. That's on the coach. Get your players ready. It's a long season, especially in the playoff era. I know the list is longer, but from games I've watched it takes a set of marbles to put in the backup with the primary is struggling. Riles did it in the Cotton Bowl with Caleb Williams. Saban with Tua for Jalen, and Jalen for Tua. Sometimes it takes a spark to get things going. A wrinkle in the offense to keep the defense guessing.
  13. Agreed, Sark turtled and played it safe. What he could have done was mix in more plays for Arch. Get him on the field, and not just designed run plays/wildcat.
  14. dammit, beat me to it!
  15. VERY nice brand
  16. Hammered? So many... Caddyshack Three Amigos Hot Tub Time Machine Christmas Vacation Fandango Aliens All the John Wick movies Dazed and Confused Empire Strikes Back BOB Fury Joe Dirt
  17. This is the lunch you order when you have beyond a shadow of a doubt nothing needs to get done for the rest of the work day.
  18. For their football players? It's "your honor"....and often involves handcuffs and a rife in a car with red and blue lights.
  19. Great movie. Cast is wild.
  20. I love the knives. I do not love sharpening them. These days when I'm making a trip to Bass Pro, I pay the old dude at the knife counter a buck or two (no pun intended) to sharpen mine on the wheel/belt sharpener.
  21. There is a direct cosmic correlation akin to gravity and the laws of motion that the more expensive a pocket knife is, the quicker you will lose it.
