Sark needs to learn how to utilize two RBs on the field at the same time. We'd be unstoppable.

In his defense he ran that awesome play with Bijan at RB and Rojo at FB where Rojo went for like 30 on a dive and promptly fumbled....

The fact that Brauinger and Liucci do not think NIL is the overwhelmingly #1 issue in recruiting is proof of the point I've been passing on to the board here about ATM not taking NIL seriously. They really do not want to engage in legitimate NIL effort and they do not understand that they're rapidly becoming the last guy selling buggy whips. It's awesome. It's part of their psychological insecurities. If Fisher, the staff, the $$ and the $9.95ers admitted that they needed to embrace NIL and showcase it, they'd have to turn their backs on the money laundering operation they've painstakingly put together over the last 4 cycles. Whoopsie!

The other factor at play here is that joining the NIL fray means they'd have to expose their flank about the 2022 and just how that "NIL" actually worked.

We could not be looking at a better moment in time for UT relative to ATM. If Seven Win Steve can close out this season in a big way, ATM has never been weaker. Texas has a strong NIL program turning into a well-oiled machine. ATM has nothing on the NIL front. Texas is winning. ATM is falling apart and they can't do a fucking thing about their head coach. Let's fucking go.

If they ever go NIL Fisher loses control of it and the leprechaun's ego aint letting that happen...

As for turning their back on bags for NIL

I guess Sharp's has never fought for success of the athletic department?

I didn't say he was good at getting things done. I said he was good at destroying people he gets crossways with.

Ask Robert Duncan about it sometime.  Or Lois Kolkhorst.  Or Doug Steele.  Or Ray Bowen Loften. Or etc etc etc.

I have seen him bring legislators to heel and am thankful that while he knows who I am, our dealings don't put me into a position of conflict and will leave it at that.

@TexasRenegade, you may want to change your password. I'm pretty sure the aggy athletic department has hacked your account.

Afraid not. I give the devil his due.  Not many people in my life I have encountered that would scare me to be on the wrong side of.  John Sharp is an individual who very much meets that description.

it's crystal how much this make sense.  it's a tactical nuke but it's less expensive than a $120m walkaway check.

there is a 49% chance sharp has already decided this path but he can't launch until bowl eligibility is gone.

but sharp also has a problem in that they can bury the $9m salary in their annual AUF shell game.

the source and G/L debit entry for Nine Figures is going to be a bitch to scrub for FOIA.

that's why this would be beautiful beyond compare because it would crack open the subject of State of Texas Constitution diverstiture of aggy in the lege when they are forced to show how they appropriate the AUF payments.   since aggy are a branch College of the UT System as they are today according to the Texas Constitution they have a specious argument to maintain their 1/3rd annual share of the AUF.  paying out jimbo could truly be a 100-year decision.

    +++

there is another edge case i haven't seen anyone postulate.....

jimbo could use his own money to hand out bags to seniors, upper classmen, recruits they are not in for at all right now, the portal, just go wild

hand out $10m of his money

what does he have to lose?

if that bought him 2 years, he's $10m ahead

the pirate put tech on the map and they broke his contract for bullshit

jimbo is erasing aggy from the map and has the CW fLOU incident, an actual, real, case of shenanigans

was it steelshank that posted "sharp has been awful quiet lately"???

I will simply say from experience and knowledge of the man...John Sharp is not an individual I would want to be in direct conflict with.  The man knows how to work people including the legislature.  He very much puts me in mind of Frank Erwin with how he deals with people who cross him or that he sees as an adversary.  Be they Vice Chancellors, Unit directors, boosters, or members of the legislature.  That man knows how to ruin people who cross him in a very old school political way.

If Sharp decides Jimbo is gone....

So if we get Vasek, our two year running edge class would be: Burke, Tapp, Finkley, Bledsoe, Walton, Vasek and Gullette (LB/edge hybrid)

Compare that to the previous two year running edge class (2020 and 2021 classes) of: Prince Dorbah, DJ Harris, Sorrell and I guess David Abiara (don't know if the plan was for him to spin down to DT since he left so quickly)

Well at this point I'm half expecting Shelby to be in town this weekend.

  7. "Then again, if Jimbo makes the right moves between now and, let's just call it, Jan, 1, the talent on hand is more than good enough for an immediate reversal of fortune. Snag the right OC and keep Weigman, and the Aggies could enter next season positioned better than at any point during the current head coach's tenure."

What the heck is Lucci on.  An OC a d Weigman is all they need?

This. And even then, I might feel bad - that is, if I didn't see some variation of "Whitman should've gotten more of them!" on the rare occasions I'm bored/self-loathing enough to venture over to texaggy.

So we're in kindergarten here.  They say mean things so we say mean things.

Good grief, we're not responsible for whatever classless drivel they day, but mocking the deaths of kids I'd beyond the pale.  I know surly....whatever.

There is no remote comparison between the two. Both were tragic, needless losses of life. Only one happened because there was no adult supervision at an “institute of higher learning.”

Responsibility isn't the point.  Making light of people dying to make fun of people is.  There are plenty of thing to tease aggies about without stooping to this level of crap.

Scipio tells the story (I forget to whom he attributed it) that after firing Akers in 1986, Texas was in serious talks with John Cooper at Arizona State. They got down to time to make the offer, Cooper was very interested, and they slid the amount written on a piece of paper across the table to him. Cooper looks at the piece of paper and says “this is what my offensive coordinator makes.”

And that’s how they ended up with David McWilliams.

Ehh.....McWilliams was hand picked by Royal.  He was supposed to heal the fractured fan base and was a tieback to our glory years....and he beat us his 1 year in Lubbock.
