  1. Ok after a few hours of thought and time to process the Baylor....I can say it isn't so bad...it's worse.

We're good and truly fucked chaps.

I could stomach OU because I thought we had things to build on from that...but no we're getting worse. Ya'll are still worried about recruits....I'm worried about Bijan and Worthy hitting the portal...

The bad news is we are struggling in the big 12, we will possibly go winless our first year in the SEC....I guess the bright side will be Sark can't possibly survive that.

Fuck Eltife and Delconte, they ended up hiring a worse coach than Herman.  He may be more likeable, but he is worse overall. We berated Herman for bringing his friends, but apparently his cougar high staff was still better than the pieces of garbage we are currently paying....Who knows, maybe Sark is the best coach they could find to take our money. We know Urban said no, but the only excuse I can find for this is Matt Campbell and a bunch of others told us to fuck off and we panicked.

All concerns about whether or not OU was embarrassing will shortly become moot because next season Saban is actually really coming to Austin and he's bringing hell with him.  Bama will do to us on our home field what we all thought they would do to A&M.....route 66 against UCLA will be a fond memory.

(So this is what it's like to be CTJ and Satyanash...)

We’ve addressed this in this thread within the last 3-5 pages. No one. After Meyer, I was fine with Herman being gone and then figuring something out. I honestly didn’t believe that hiring this guy was a legitimate possibility.

Honestly though, what difference does it make? If people wanted the guy and were excited by the hire, good for them and no source of shame in my book. I laughed when USC hired Pete Carroll and thought Justin Fuente would crush it at VT. Predicting shit is hard, seeing shit for what it is, is not.

As I recall, you have previously on this forum in 2019, referred to Matt Campbell as a homerun hire.......

Where did I type that? Oh, I didn’t.

    Try again?

I'm sorry that was inferred.  Our issue with receivers is largely their route running and ability to create separation....

So your solution is to line someone up who is slower than any of ourother wide receivers and hasn't learned to run good routes at wide receiver?

Maybe I should reevaluate that receiving only tight end idea....

    But hold on -

He was a 5 star and had unbelievable highlights catching the ball in HS. I don’t think we’d be asking him to block as a tight end.

What if we had an innovative OC, known for his play calling and scheme, suffering from a lack of quality pass catchers - could he “possibly” find a way to get someone with those kinds of skills on the field?

So your suggestion with our Swiss cheese oline is to use a te only on passing plays and not ask him to block?

Opposing d coordinators would support this strategy I am certain.

"Worn down" by a team that averaged 3.3 ypc against Tulane, 2.0 ypc against West Virginia, and 4.1 ypc against Kansas State. Right.

blOU is a very average rushing team this year and they ran over us for 339 yards at 8.3 ypc (150 yards and 6.8 ypc in the 1st half our defense was rested and our offense was holding up its end of the bargain). This defense couldn't stop a basic GT counter and it's not going to get us to the Big 12 title game without huge improvement.

Huh it's almost like we are implementing a radical defensive system change with players that aren't the best fit for that system...who were recruited and coached by idiots.

Heck, the players were in the position to make the tackle at the line plenty of times and blew it.

So yeah missed tackles leading to big gains repeatedly tend to wear down a defense.

Someone talk me off the ledge. We have a lot of returning talent on defense and a staff that is widely recognized as one of the betters staffs in football yet we made the 1997 Texas defense look like the 1999 Baltimore Ravens. Tell me we are going to be flooded with a lot of blue chip recruits who can turn this thing around. Because right now it feels like we have another Tom Herman as our coach.

Seriously?  This staff schemed to get their players open and exploit OU weaknesses.

We got worn down and out athleted by a better more experienced team.

You're a dumbfuck. The team snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. It was courtesy of players and coaches alike.

Sarkisian did not adjust his offensive playcalling in the second half.

Special teams were not coached up to take the touchback on the kickoff.

Defense held until they broke - we saw a very similar script against TCU. Texas was lucky to win that game.

And somehow your blind, ignorant ass says the 'coaches literally schemed their way to almost winning that game.'

Fuck you, you're no renegade. Change your handle to TexasRetard you dumbfuck.

Yes the mature response of some blowhard dumb ass that thinks Texas should win just because they walked out on the field.

Here's something you might know had you ever played football.

Play calls and schemes by the coaches can only do so much.  Yes the Texas coaches schemed us to our lead but then halftime happened.

You know what halftime adjustments typically really are, the favored team adjusting to whatever the underdog did in the 1st half that they weren't expecting.

It's hard as an underdog to make halftime adjustments because you already sprang the surprise.

Yes we had a big lead....in the 1st quarter. We were down by 21 to Tech a year ago in the 4th quarter. There was a ton of football left.  We scored on big plays and off of turnovers.  Very little evidence of us physically dominating OU....

You know why?  Because they have players who fit their scheme and have been in it for years.  They have better athletes who fit their offense and defense.

They kicked our ass on the lines even when we were winning big.

Scheming by the coaches is the reason this game wasn't 54-17 OU.

  8. Fuck all ya'll. The team played its ass off. The coaches coached their ass off.  It's stinks losing to OU, but the coaches literally schemed their way to almost winning that game.

Our 2 biggest playmaker are a true freshman wide receiver and a sophomore running back.

We have an oline that is held together by bailing wire.

And a new defense that is making due with I'll fitting parts from the previous regime.

Again it sucks to lose this one, but the team and coaches showed a hell of a lot to like.

You're worked up over 20 pounds? Looks like he ran a 4.49 before his junior year. He's probably a lot faster than Cook.

Seems like a unique player in terms of how he would fit into the defense.  247 compares him to Myles Jack.

Who is worked up?  I admitted I don't know pks defense.

My main point I don't recall a 210 lb nickel before.  It was just an observation.

Spiller is generally thought of as RB1 in this upcoming draft.  If aggy is on their way to a string of losses, and Jimbo is going to continue to fuck around with the RB rotations, I don't see much reason for Spiller to stick around.

Hell after the shafting that Jimbo is giving him, I hope for his sake that Calzada transfers out.

Someone googled anthony cook and just ran with some random dude's measureables instead of just checking our roster or 247. The two guys are actually built similarly, but Perkins is taller and twitchier.

Excuse me then...6'1" 191 lbs according to Texassports as opposed to his wikipedia page which was the 1st result that came up.  So he is still 20lbs lighter than Perkins which was more my point.

If Perkins has the ability to do it and wants to do it fine.  Semantics aside, it just sounds wierd to have a 210 lb nickel back, but PK's defense isn't the most traditional in many ways so if that's what Perk wants and will get him to sign then do it.
