  1. Don't go outside. Run middle screens and crossing routes.
  2. Not saying it won't be remembered. See my posts after.. Let's talk all time Texas pass play comparisons to 4th and 13 cause THAT is a fun topic.
  3. Peter mother fucking Gardere. A hero! OUSUX! Good memory on that one. This is a fun discussion!!!!
  4. Gotten Texas to a National Championship game.
  5. Well... you have to reflect back to the world at that time. We lose to OSU, we don't play USC most likely OSU or PSU gets slotted in above us. With a head to head loss, Texas isn't getting in over a 1 loss OSU or a 1 loss PSU at the time. So.. it sort of WAS a playoff game before the playoffs existed.
  6. That's a pretty solid list. I'd probably push the OSU pass into 2nd spot as they were #4 at the time and ended the season #4 with a convincing win over ND in the Fiesta. OSU's only other loss being Penn State (who ended at #3 with a single loss to Michigan and a win oved FSU in the Orange) that year. But 2 or 3, subjective. Just that game at OSU was a HUGE win early in the season.
  7. Well, counterpoint, if we DON'T have any of those struggles it begs the question why didn't start Arch o let him play second half vs Georgia1 or at least give him a lot more reps this season. There will be questions either way. I think it comes down to what many here have already noted. You can't game manage, play call, and head coach all at the same time. Further, a head coach needs someone they respect to question certain choices. Without it, it turns into a player fault issue in the coaches head. In my dream world we have Carol or Saban as an offensive and special teams "Advisor" or some such. It's still Sark's offensive scheme and plan with some "consultants" for game day calls.
  8. Fair point. Very fair point. And I'll accept that reality. However, while it wasn't for a National Championship it WAS for a Conference championship so.. I'll clarify, my bigger issue wasn't in historical longhorn lore. Rather the comparison to Colt and as to the gravity in the bigger picture of Longhorn lore. It's big, absolutely. And it was mad clutch. I just take issue with it being at a Colt or VY level, for now. Rather than James Brown level. I HOPE it gets to that level and if we proceed past OSU I really think it will.
  9. Go back and watch the 2005 and 2009 season and get back to me. You're suffering from memory loss. It might not be specifically "make this throw or the season is over" but it sure as shit was make this play or our season is over for both VY and Colt on those seasons. I already noted 3 for VY in 2005. And if we're talking make this play or our season is over, our D had fucking 4 of them yesterday. Again, I'm NOT taking away from Quinn at the end of the game nor OT but there is already revisionist history from the game yesterday and Quinn hasn't even gotten to the National Championship game yet.
  10. Here's my take on history. You have to wait until a chapter is finished before you know how critical and historical certain moves/moments/plays were in them. Think VY during Kansas and the shift that sat a future NFL LBer on his ass or @ OSU in 2005 then.. of course THE PLAY OF PLAYS vs USC. The 2025 season/chapter is not yet finished. I'm taking nothing from the clutch that was Quinn’s pass on 4th and 13. It was amazing and fantastic. BUT... before we start saying he or that play are Colt level.. MAYBE we should see if we PLAY for a National Championship first. Not win, but get to one. Little bit of a speed bump prior to that goal.
  11. You were correct. But it happens to hold true for architecture as well.
  12. Yeah.. Beck's play has been pretty hit and miss this year at times. When you add that to fucking a social media star 10 and driving a Lamborghini it's gonna generate some hate.
  13. FSU was in trouble and Jimbo saw the writing on the wall. Plus, I've also been to Tallahassee, while markedly better than College Station (what isn't) it's not Tempe nor ASU campus by an extremely wide margin. AND Dillingham is 34 and graduated from ASU. He's no Elko.
  14. People are going to be taken back a bit at the ability of Georgia's back up Gunnar Stockton. He broke the HS records of some pretty well known QBs both running and passing namely Trevor Lawrence and Deshawn Watson. He's the son of a good college player and has been in the Georgia system for a while. Smart has known him basically his entire life. He doesn't have the name recognition of Texas' back up, but he's got an impressive HS resume. Does it mean he'll perform, no guarantees, but I certainly wouldn't say that Georgia is "without a QB" Gunnar Stockton Bio
  15. We won't, but it's a nice dream which I would like to share. Sark hasn't made half time offensive adjustments all year and he's not starting the next game. We have to hope our D keeps it close and we get a couple quarters of Michigan Quinn. Oh... and our special teams isn't required for points and doesn't bend over AGAIN on a fake punt. Cause there is nearly a 100% chance OSU is going to run one.
  16. And last time I checked Texas was 0-2 this season against one of the teams remaining in the bracket not named OSU.
  17. You riffed this line from me in the ASU game thread and you know it. But plagiarism is the most sincere form of compliment so I'm giving you some rep love.
  18. I've on campus at ASU. I've been to College Station. There is no world in which you'd get me to move from the gloriousness that is ASU campus to the shit hole that is aggie.
  19. Yeah, people who weren't alive or following sports will never really understand the build up of Texas vs USC. I believe it remains the only time in history #1 and #2 held those positions all year and their met up with 3 Heisman candidates/winners in opposing back fields. Not two helmet schools from the "fly over territory" in a CFP semi-final.
  20. Their comments about Desmond being hyped about OSU winning might just be a little racist.
  21. Another few inches and I'm a porn star. Another couple of feet and I'm a college basketball player.
  22. This Leavitt didn't play a shitty game, Texas D fucked him up, bad.
  23. 3 ASU fans? Was my call accurate?
  24. At this point it doesn't matter and it isn't changing. Quinn made a goodly amount of mistakes, Sark made way more throughout the game. We're gonna get stretches of Michigan Quinn (2 times today) and stretches of mediocre at best Quinn. We are not going to make half time adjustments so 3rd quarters are going to continue to suck. A lot. Today we got Michigan Quinn when it mattered most and it won the game. He was aces and I'll own i didn't expect it but I'm extremely happy about it. We'll be fortunate and that will be enough or it won't, but it's going to be exactly what we'll see for the next 1-2 games. I'm here for the ride and have been all year.
