  1. I'll just point out, there was a single individual primarily leading this "man hunt". I suspect Greg felt a social pressure to voice his concerns given the realities, but he made a single comment based on what I'm aware of currently. Aside from "she's fine everyone".
  2. I don't know an exact number but for clearly unstable, intoxicated, perhaps drug addled 20-30 somethings in love, one of which is facing jail time, probably a lot more frequently than you appear to suspect.
  3. I'm counting on Surly in this regard for the regards from the regard.
  4. I'm really not trying to slam you man, but how do you come to the conclusion she never planned to return. It's not unreasonable to think that MIGHT have occurred or been the plan, but this really looks more like an impulsive choice by 2 not so logical people who were "in love"for a road trip prior to potential court issues. It was hers. It wasn't stolen.
  5. You know man.. it's starting to seem like Greg had a pretty solid plan for having some fun prior to his time in the clink. Didn't put miles on his car, free one way ticket home. Rude company for a beautiful road trip. ...I'd have some begrudging respect for him were it not for that whole woman beating thing.
  6. If the witnesses isn’t willing to testify/press, DA will often walk away unless third party witnessed. There are a lot of mitigating factors involved. Generally, in a more conservative state/county/city without the witness prosecutor isn't going to waste the cycles as jury will acquit. But I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on Surly threads. Legal firm position for more detail
  7. This too. For all we know the father had the children throughout per a custody agreement. Maybe dad has full custody.Maybe mom was watching then, grandpa, who knows. We don't.. that's who doesn't. Grumble grumble
  8. Dad of daughter was pretty quiet about it too. The vast majority came from mom, who aligned one of her child's autism to vaccines.
  9. Was the daughter acting out of character? That's a pretty big logical leap.
  10. Turning off phones would be a typical reaction to an intrusive parent. Mom, understandably, is probably very much against the relationship. Daughter, as is sadly typical of abusive relationships, is still in "love". Couple of drinks in, they came to the "logical" conclusion to road trip to the coast or wherever together. Mom reacted a bit hysterically, but debatable on over reaction, reasonable or hysterical given the assault. Knowing the situation with the children would clarify a planned run away or drug/booze fueled escape from crazy mom. Best guess is drug fueled "love escape", but children situation tells a big part of the story. (Not giving up on that point as it matters a lot)
  11. This.. I pointed out it was never clarified many times. But here we are..
  12. Amusingly enough REI was started by a group of guys looking to acquire climbing gear at a lower cost than the available retailers in Seattle. So, I mean, hypocrite much? Also, were the fuck am I supposed to get my Olu Kai shoed without REI?!?!?
  13. Just keep REI inventory out of the mix and I'll support your proposed boycott. It's all ethically sourced and manufactured after all. Hence the obscene pricing.
  14. We are now debating the various drive time hypotheses. It's what goes on here. Fucking noob!
  15. Don't judge me... I mean him. That's the original formula jack ass. Anything else isn't authentic!
  16. It's never ceases to amaze me the wreckless abandon with which man will wreck the environment for military gains in conflict. Whether the gains are perceived or real, no fucks given in regards to the damage short term or long lasting. Agent Orange, always comes to mind along with a couple of bombs dropped on Japan.
  17. A very anticlimactic ending, while is a rare and extremely pleasant surprise. Which... I guess makes it climatic? Dammit. Glad she's safe, I remain curious about the specific details. Yeah. "There's more to the story"
  18. **Soda chat not going away** This place kills me...
  19. I'm pretty sure we made a bet on a brand new corvette and you never paid up, jack ass. I'll swing by Chicago after the Michigan game and pick that up. It better be the Z06. Wait... did we agree on the 2025 Z51? That would explain your delay, sorry.
  20. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you've never had an over bearing MIL that lives in a different city.
  21. This is all plausible. It's also plausible that this was kicked off by a fight "a couple of weeks ago". The reality exists in domestic abuse cases, purely verbal or otherwise often times the parent reports it. I still haven't seen confirmation of the claim, by the mother, that said warrant exists. It's also possible daughter shared argument fight with mom. Mom escalated it from argument to abuse and attempted to file a report. Lots of possible conjecture here without a lot of facts. That line of thought, whatever the specifics, could be a perceived overbearing mother "interfering" in a grown woman's relationship. You add drugs to that mix, all the more likely. Daughter just moved, we don't know why. I still haven't seen anything regarding where the children are currently. With their father, a baby sitter, or parents. Just don't know. There is a very reasonable line of thinking that daughter and "ex"boyfriend (domestic abuse and drugs or not) decided to "escape" mom. Daughter met "ex" out a bar. They took her car. There is a note. Tons left to be discovered. I would say right now, based on what we know 50/50 running away from mom and/or responsibilities/murder.
