  1. The fuck does that have to do with Mack Brown and his performances against OUsux?
  2. Exclusive: Putin doubts potency of Trump's ultimatum to end the war - Reuters Link So a few thoughts. Assuming the first offer from Putin is true, giving up air in this conflict is the same as just conceding the whole fucking thing to Russia. Despite what Russia or more specifically Putin is claiming I think there is more concern than they will admit about further sanctions or tariffs. If Trump doesn't see this as just more bullshit from Putin, I don't know what to say.
  3. Well, you idiot, simply ship the energy back to earth via Tesla batteries.
  4. So I took a minute to internalize and process some of the underrated and overrated @closetojumping were discussing. I started with the basic reality that Coaches polls, as I understand, have always been shooting from the hip sort of deal. These coaches or whoever is filling in the votes are in the middle of summer camp and the last thing they give a shit about is ranking teams much less looking at depth charts or schedules. So, they are going to vote on the things they know, historicals and sometimes for or against certain teams given bias or favoritism toward or against teams in their conference or for other reasons. See the voters in spoiler below, their teams and these biases will start to solidify. Big XII 6 voters B1G 9 voters SEC 8 voters ACC 7 voters (I own I may have missed some or got them incorrect) Taking a quick examination of the Arizon State and Indiana University, what you have is 2 historically under performing schools that BOTH lost their most high profile and arguably most productive players to the draft. They aren't names in their conference nor historically. Their coaches are not well known historically either. They both had 1 really good year that caught the attention of the nation. So, knowing those facts, without looking at depth charts nor schedule, I could see it being extremely easy to dismiss them both, throw them somewhere in the top 25 and call it a day. In a interesting similar aspect, while Deboer and Bama are both known, they also lost their starting QB and so that aligns with the logic of them being at the lower end of top 10 in this less than in depth thought process of coach voters. I'll point out that Washington and Georgia Tech are simply lesser known and as such probably just skipped pushed to the lower end by non-ACC or B1G coaches.
  5. Knee-jerk reaction When used metaphorically, "knee-jerk" describes a response that is quick, instinctive, and not well-thought-out. It often suggests a reaction based on habit, emotion, or ingrained biases rather than careful consideration.
  6. What a POS. Yes, allowing dogs on others property is problematic, but it happens often and 99.9% of the time a verbal response will send them running. There are unfortunate times when lethal force is required but this sure as hell doesn't sound like one.
  7. Spoilered below are my responses in italic I'll come back later on Iowa State, Missery, Nebraska and Louisville. Of those Louisville is the easiest sell, IMO.
  8. Zeno, never forget about Zeno. Not that I knew who Zeno nor any of the other names were, but Zeno is a funny name so I'm hoping he becomes the new savior in Oct after Reed is either knocked out (NOT hoping for injury) or walked out as yet another failed savior.
  9. I like QBRD better. QB revolving door, but we can sell it to aggie as Research and Development
  10. Here is my response to your picks. Green means I think they are underrated. Yellow means I need to look more at their schedule or don't know enough to call. Red mean I think they are over rated or should not be in the top 25. There are 4 glaring ones to me. ASU, Indiana both possible top 10 aggie and Tennessee that only belong on a list of also rans.
  11. Well, I knew it FSU was gonna be extremely young, but I wasn't aware of just how grim it was so, thanks. I still never love giving a lot away with brand new QB on the road, and recognize my hypocrisy with Arch at OSU. I'd counter Arch isn't brand new and a different level. The line opened Bama -11.5 and has already grown to -13.5. Based on both what you just said and the Bama reputation I anticipate it will grow a goodly amount prior to game. If I was going to take it, I'd take it now and as noted, think it's a good bet.
  12. I can get behind your first point, but I think it's a full on punchers brawl and Arch having a tad more experience thus composure than Sayin or whomever OSU ends up trotting out and Texas D ends up being the difference. For Bama, I think giving the points at 13.5 is probably safe, but I still wouldn't place that bet.
  13. Well, based on what I've seen from him he loves Allar and as for him thinking Frankling will not go full Turtle Tom.. Gamblers Fallacy maybe?
  14. Me or Klatt? Never mind, doesn't matter the answer is yes, multiple times for both. Otherwise, agreed on all aspects. I'd even give Michigan and Oregon the coaching nod over PSU and I don't have a ton of faith in Moore.
  15. Well, with Macovick a big issue with the players was he was the opposite of a player's coach. He was stiff, uppity and better than. Given that Elko went to Penn coached at 2 Catholic Schools and some other sort of elite type schools all while being from Jersey.. the personality gap may also be similar to the Texas player's. Then he's also mowing down Dixie Chicken meals like Beowolf.
  16. Sigh. Yes fixed.
  17. Given the Elks personal background and despite all the yuk yuks he puts on in front of a camera it wouldn't surprise me if the aggie players weren't sold. In fact, I could see more of John Mackovic sort of reaction/relationship with players. Sure he was the coach but on a pure human level, of the multiple players I knew, all agreed they hated Mackovic as a person.
  18. The truth is like poetry, and most people hate poetry. Everyone, deep in their hearts, is waiting for the end of the world to come.
  19. There is nothing in Deion's history as a player or HC that indicates, at all, that he's genuinely a good person. None. I'm not calling him evil, but he's a grifter and narcissistic. That's why I, and many others, love to hate him. While I wish him well in his health, health issues won't change my take on his personality.
  20. Well, I don’t want to turn this into yet another MB hate thread so I will just add this and move on. Mack never, ever, coached the team to putting the foot on the throat of opponents. I almost never felt confident a team was done because once we had the momentum or lead, it seemed to always swing. I think that stems from a truth in what MB said way too often that permeated the players, fear. VY was a force, without fear, as was Colt and their leadership propelled the rest of the team despite our HC shitting his pants on the reg. Now back to PSU, I think there a similar problems at the HC with even worse results. Day has clearly overcome his issues and they are stacked. Texas is stacked but I firmly believe part of the issue last year was faith in the offense and particularly the QB from the rest of the team. I don't want to rehash that topic and instead will turn to this year. Arch will provide the sort of faith that VY and Colt inspired on their teams. Further, I think Arch's abilities will let Sark finally go full Sark offensively. It's going to take a minute for our OL to fully gel, but I think our D might actually be better this year which, I know, is a crazy prediction. I have a pretty crazy prediction for this year which is we beat OSU, lose to Florida, obliterate ou sux, struggle against UK then we start hitting on all cylinders and wreck everyone left on the schedule, including Georgia. It's going to be a very tough year for aggie and pig. Will it be enough to win it all... we shall see, but I do a room reservation in Miami. Hence my take that Texas and OSU should be 1 and 2. I don't know why Klatt continues to out faith in PSU or more accurately it's head coach.
  21. @SL Xpress You're welcome and at this point I'm searching not just for you but to confirm whether or not my old man memory is getting worse. Further, while I disagree with some of his takes and disliked him at CU, right now I firmly believe he's the best in the business. He occasionally has what I think is a controversial take, but always backs up his logic even if I find it flawed. He certainly knows a lot more anout the game than me and I like that he does not dumb down his content for mass consumption. It's extremely refreshing in today's sport broadcasting world.
  22. Well, it was on YouTube on Klatt's show and I found the following but I'm putting hold on what I claimed was his take. I might have confused it for his take on Ryan Day. I'm reviewing and will confirm one way or the other and apologize if I remembered incorrectly. In the interim, here is his take post the loss to OSU. Amusingly, he predicts the ND game... accurately.
  23. Hmm.. I see one minor issue that may arrise with a nuclear reactor on the moon. The Nuclear Energy Institute estimates that one nuclear reactor requires between 1,514L and 2,725L litres of water per MWh. It equates to billions of gallons of water per year, and all this water requires filtering somehow. Link from water conservation advocate
