Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Lol, my insane brain caught a glimpse of Sark rolling out 12 personnel for the first possession. As they take the field, Sark finds a camera, stares right at it and gives Texas fans one of these:

Yeah, NIL dramatically altered the landscape in a lot of ways. Some very positive in that former doormats like Vandy and also rans like Tech and ASU do have the capability to run with the blue clippers, to a degree. I think, broadly speaking, it's created more parity across a select group. I do think that group is bigger now for a chance to complete. That said, on the down side the haves really have and back door deals that Saban and Alabama lived on just don't exist like they did prior. Mainly because you can stack talent 3 deeps who are college starters much less NFL caliber, particularly around the lines where Saban and Bama always dominated. Saban saw the writing on the wall and GTFO while he could. I don't think hed come back because there's a very real chance, no matter where he went, for his legacy and mythos to be tarnished. Add to it, the additional strain and work required with PR and such for the HC, I dont think it would even interest him. A HC isn't or really shouldn't (imo) be an Xs and Os guy anymore. The consistent winners will, I firmly believe, end up being the OSU model. HC manages the program and "character" of the team, not what happens on game day. I mean, perhaps I'm misreading, but it seems like we are largely in agreement save some minutiae over opinions we'll never be able to settle. So... I'll just tip my cap and say I really appreciate the logical, non-rhetoric based discussion.- The 2025 CFP Regular Season Is 3/4s Finished - What Do You Think?
No you said: I said from the start: You brought in deserve based on their schedule. We've not disagreed on making the CFP, we've disagreed on merit of it based on schedule and performance. You moved the goal post and avoided my question.- Texas vs. Vanderbilt - 11am on ABC

Well, Texas inconsistencies and struggles against lower teams is my hesitation. The big * your comment above about Texas over ND come down to simply "when Texas plays well". I am very strongly of the opinion that the bulk of Texas issues the year have stemmed directly from offensive play calls. I agree with your assessment in broad terms about Texas being better, but for me proof is in the pudding and Georgia will tell me if Sark continue the Vandy/OU/2nd half MSU game plan. If so, I do think Texas is very capable of winning out. Georgia is very good but currently beatable. I agree with your hero ball take on Vandy and in broader terms as well. I've admitted my soft spot bias for GT with you prior, but in counter point I've watched them a lot. They got a lot of heart and grit. They are absolutely a team effort group and have a belief they can win. I've seen that go a long way.- The 2025 CFP Regular Season Is 3/4s Finished - What Do You Think?
Notre Dame has beaten: Purdue (2-7) Arkansas (2-7) Boise State (6-3) NCSU (5-4) USC (6-2) USC and NCSU have peaked. Boise State is a MAC team. And lost to Aggie Miami (6-2) and they'll like drop 1 or 2 more. I'd take Utah, Georgia Tech, and Vandy to beat ND. I don't love Vandy either. I put Vandy and ND on a similar level. I would put GT and Utah (lost to Tech and BYU) ahead of ND based on record, schedule and body of work. I also think Louisville would challenge ND and I've openly pooped on the ACC. I think resume wise right now, Texas is a half hitch below ND but its really close. The Florida loss is the variance in favor of ND.- The 2025 CFP Regular Season Is 3/4s Finished - What Do You Think?
We're not in disagreement, but the 10 win ND deserves to be in arguments don't past muster with me. Not in and of themselves using their schedule to defend it. Edit - Don't take that to mean I don't think ND will get in the CFP with 10 wins. They 100% will.- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?

There are just so many. Before I leave this world, when I'm extremely old and super grumpy, I look forward to reading the War and Peace length book of his failures in a public park. The schedule ranking metrics don't agree. Among all the polls the highest ranking of their schedule is 13 in Sagrin and usually in the 20s. In fact, in most polls aggie out ranks them in SOS. You gonna look me in the eyes and say a 10 win Aggie team is also deserving? Would you say both are more deserving than say... A 10 win Texas team? I have a lot of love for Wisner, and have had fingers crossed for CJ for 2 seasons now. Cj just can't stay healthy and as much as I love Wis lner we really need an RB that require opposing DCs to scheme around. Of course, all of that also requires a competent, well developed OL capable of executing on front of them. Safety concerns me most after OL.- The 2025 CFP Regular Season Is 3/4s Finished - What Do You Think?
I think Pitt is capable and pray to baby Jesus to make it so. I said early in the season any 10 win ND team gets in the playoffs regardless of the 2 losses and rest of their season schedule. That isn't changing and its truly frustrating.- The 2025 CFP Regular Season Is 3/4s Finished - What Do You Think?
I'll see your B1G and raise you ACC. We've discussed it on several threads but there isn't a school in that conference, not one, that would concern me like Georgia. I say that and note, I don't think Georgia is even that good this year. I'd give up our bye week to play Virgina and be confident with a win. And if you're familiar with my work, I'm not a sunshine pumper by any measure.- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Zero chance. Only a big pocket blue blood with a good NIL and money situation is gonna even peak his interest. I think he will eventually get plucked but its gonna be really lucrative and big time. None of those aspects apply to Auburn. (Sorry Surly AU fans)- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Setting aside Cignetti who's already got his pound of flesh, I really think Elko and Kiffen stand to profit the most out of all this insanity. Others will too, but I think both their current employers are likely to go all in on contracts to keep them. Both can leverage that power to stay put or move on.- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
