  1. Some quick screen grabs and a quote from Reuters
  2. 9 pm central Trump will speak per Reuters.
  3. Being Chuckles he may well have intend Bristlr or Feeld, incorrectly assuming all dating apps are the same and therefor bad.
  4. I mean... you're not wrong.
  5. Story isn't that simple and I think you know it. So this happened about 30 days ago in Iran: Today’s protests across more than 20 cities showed a people no longer pleading but demanding. Retirees robbed of their futures, farmers robbed of water, and workers robbed of dignity all cried out with one voice. The slogans ringing through the streets— “Only in the streets will we win our rights,” “Death to this injustice,” “Enough is enough”—made it clear: this was not just economic unrest. This was a call for liberation Iranian People Riot But today they are in the streets with signs that are pics of the Ayatollah in full support of him?!?! NTY Protest Coverage Doesn't that seem a like a massive sudden shift? Couldn't be that at least a part of it is a totalitarian regime "encouraged" such protests right after all their military leaders were taken out and US is flying bombers could it? Here is a more complex discussion about the issues: Iran's divided opposition senses its moment but activists remain wary of protests - https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/irans-divided-opposition-senses-its-moment-activists-remain-wary-protests-2025-06-19/
  6. I would be shocked at this point if they didn't move forward. Despite the protestations of big parts of the Maga empire, if no US troops are involved (which I TRULY hope is the case) and only air/sea, it can be spun by Surly's favorite leader as "Bring Peace to the middle east (dispite being Persia)", "Stamping out terrorist" and "Saving the world from Nukes" all while he gets to flex the US military. Ego and Legacy would both be well served. But... it is Trump "blind dart choices" are still in play.
  7. Agree that this is more far complex than US wanting access to their oil. There are obviously potential downside issues with the down fall of Iran's current regime. However, @956 Worldwide spelled out really well what could happen if they got nukes. Beyond that, while many disagree with it occurring, I firmly believe in the potential for the people of Iran to produce a functional, modern country with far more individual freedoms. Is it likely, maybe not, but possible which is positive. Next, it definitely pulls an ally out of the Russian rolladex which is good for Ukraine and bad for Russia. I'm absolutely in favor of that part. Who knows maybe it is a dominoe that aids in Putin's demise, we can only hope. Finally, the people of Iran may hopefully have some autonomy over their oil, I don't care if it comes to the US, but I hope they price gouge China for being quiet supporters for the current Iranian regime. Because fuck China.
  8. Mostly agree. Internally yes keep all parties out of government formation. However, use US and European logistics a via non-involved intermediary purely for supporting new regime in their nation building plans. Things like infrastructure good for damage, food, supplies and any non-military items.
  9. B-2 bombers moving to Guam amid Middle East tensions, US officials say Reuters Link
  10. I am guessing they are moved to within a 8-12 hr strike window, maybe closer. Then the reading of the current winds by US leadership of internal and international, follwed by conversations with ME OG and Israel.
  11. Chuckles and blind squirrels.. who knew.
  12. Let be fair, not to discount the leadership but our corporate oligarchs creating rabbit hole content feeds to whatever agenda the crazy person finds themselves diving down also plays a massive part in the equation. Then there is personal autonomy. That's often offset by a lack of any efforts to help folks with mental illness even when the signs are clear, if there is money to even pay for it.
  13. I already posted it in the Apple thread but I'm loving it, but my expectations weren't high. I'm repeating myself, but its a sci-fi sitcom based on a self aware robot that's on spectrum. It takes shots at both liberal and conservative tropes. It has really good dialog, great internal monolog, and is just silly. I enjoy the hell out of it for what it is.. so.
  14. I really loved it for all the various dynamics of cast, story and dialog. It address some serious issues but wasn't afraid to have fun in the process. Some truly fantastic chemistries between various actors.
  15. And no fucking twitter
  16. Go ask the people of Kentucky their thoughts on an all expenses paid 3 week vacation to Boston and get back to me. Edit - Great now I'm thinking about Appalachians occupying Boston and the all the conversations that would be occurring. This actually would make for a hilarious sitcom.
  17. Fair, and he's absolutely entitled to his opinion, but it doesn't seem like his fellow countrymen agree. (I was really tempted to light another CR/fire..... I resisted, you're welcome)
  18. Not as of 5 years ago per the research below and not based on my Taiwanese national friends and his medical doctor wife who left Taiwan to come to the US based on concerns regarding China. Or... the rest of his family who now lives in the US. Link Or this one from 3 months ago CFR article Or this one from the BBC 6 months ago BBC Article Or this one from Reuters: Taiwan president pledges peace with China but says island must strengthen defences - https://www.reuters.com/world/china/anniversary-taking-office-taiwan-president-reiterates-willingness-talk-china-2025-05-20/ I could go on. And if you think there are no dialect differences between Chinese Mandarin and Taiwanese Mandarin, I'm sure you think people in Boston speak like people in Kentucky. That's before dismissing all the other dialects found in China. But you're right, officially they speak the same language. This fucking place.
  19. There is the military logistical and capabilities reality, which is problematic. Potentially as big an issue is the hatred between the two. They make speak different dialects of the same language but culturally they are vastly different. This isn't a recent divide either. It's not China/Japan level hate, but it's real. But... that's a different thread.
  20. Then the entirety of the ME OG would send as much money as they felt needed to achieve goals they felt needed achieving to partners they felt capable of achieving it. Iran/China could succeed but... China might see a pretty big increase in oil cost, Iran would absolutely cease to exist under current leadership and Russia wouldn't get any help from them as they're a little busy plus Russia is a really shitty partner. China is crazy, but they aren't stupid. Don't bite a hand that feeds you.
  21. My friend told me most of them have pretty big social media accounts. According to him, while you don't get full content there's enough on those account to achieve your goals of.. ya know, getting to "know" them better.
