  1. Well, I actually thought about it after Chad's post. Using a lot, hundreds, of big mylar balloons, with grenades attached, and a small drone type of fan to drive it generally in a direction along with prevailing wind.. it could cause the Russia air defense to react. Read the reactions and rope a dope with some drones from the flank targeting big air defense after initial response and potentially expensive missile launches... This is where my brain goes the Wednesday before college football.
  2. Yep. I'm a full blow regard but that's not news to many.
  3. There are a lot of games that interest me more for the back story aspects than the national championship picture. I actually picked Miami to play in the ACC championship, and I think Miami is a mediocre team with mediocre coaching. That should tell you my level of respect for the ACC generally. What happens against Florida will be a strong indicator of whether or not I had a clue, which, I openly admit I probably don't. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised by pretty much anyone winning the ACC, it's that messed up top to bottom, imo. UGa's game has much a bigger impact on Texas and as such will be the game I focus on outside of CSU. I've already noted my lack of respect for the ACC. I have to go against some here and lean toward Georgia my SEC champ pic. However, I do think this game is a lot closer than it appears to be by most. I'll always turn on UNC in hopes of seeing Mack Brown lose. That's a also ran game and neither are going to make any big impact this year. Finally, I fully admit I'm turning on the CU game in hopes of a dumpster fire of some sort. Lots of interesting games this weekend that will clarify a lot of things for me regarding the bigger picture this year.
  4. Good point and it's a bonus Ukraine didn't try drones held afloat by hydrogen ballons.
  5. As a bit of a student of combat, I openly confess my absolute intrique with what's happening over the skies of Ukraine/Russia. There really is a guerilla air tacts aspect to this fight and the militarized "consumer" drones is absolutely a change that I suspected was coming, but not to this extent, these levels of success and this soon. The Russia v Ukraine conflict while already important historically for a lot of reason us putting several chapters in tactical guerrilla aviation warfare books. Intriguing and great for them against the would be oppressor that is Russia.
  6. The CS era of Texas football followed by the hiring of Mensa lead to me giving up season tickets after 31 consecutive years during which I missed a total of 4 home games. (Mostly missed being early season shit teams and shitty at the time Baylor) If that doesn't tell the story of how lost I believed the program to be, I'm not sure what does. Thanks CS!!
  7. I wonder if he's aware that it is possible to visit South Bend when your team isn't playing a game in South Bend. This weekend might be a a perfect time to do so, as it won't be very crowded and he can probably catch the aggie game on TV at a bar with some locals. Win/win
  8. It was Bogota.. security was doing coke with the drug dealer and his hookers in the "executive lounge".
  9. Well, if young Brisketexan and family were on the way to Oregon and ended up at Carlsbad, someone had some really shitty navigation skills.
  10. I bet the number is surprisingly high. You're in Texas for a hot minute before hitting New Mexico and depending on the route some major cities could be in the mix. I would hypothesize the number at 10. Legit looking place in Denver
  11. Thanks for the clarification, missed it, and that certainly tracks.
  12. Good to see DPS getting in the NSA game. I'm sure it's for the children and not related to the WOD.
  13. I'll just point out, there was a single individual primarily leading this "man hunt". I suspect Greg felt a social pressure to voice his concerns given the realities, but he made a single comment based on what I'm aware of currently. Aside from "she's fine everyone".
  14. I don't know an exact number but for clearly unstable, intoxicated, perhaps drug addled 20-30 somethings in love, one of which is facing jail time, probably a lot more frequently than you appear to suspect.
  15. I'm counting on Surly in this regard for the regards from the regard.
  16. I'm really not trying to slam you man, but how do you come to the conclusion she never planned to return. It's not unreasonable to think that MIGHT have occurred or been the plan, but this really looks more like an impulsive choice by 2 not so logical people who were "in love"for a road trip prior to potential court issues. It was hers. It wasn't stolen.
  17. You know man.. it's starting to seem like Greg had a pretty solid plan for having some fun prior to his time in the clink. Didn't put miles on his car, free one way ticket home. Rude company for a beautiful road trip. ...I'd have some begrudging respect for him were it not for that whole woman beating thing.
  18. If the witnesses isn’t willing to testify/press, DA will often walk away unless third party witnessed. There are a lot of mitigating factors involved. Generally, in a more conservative state/county/city without the witness prosecutor isn't going to waste the cycles as jury will acquit. But I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on Surly threads. Legal firm position for more detail
  19. This too. For all we know the father had the children throughout per a custody agreement. Maybe dad has full custody.Maybe mom was watching then, grandpa, who knows. We don't.. that's who doesn't. Grumble grumble
  20. Dad of daughter was pretty quiet about it too. The vast majority came from mom, who aligned one of her child's autism to vaccines.
  21. Was the daughter acting out of character? That's a pretty big logical leap.
  22. Turning off phones would be a typical reaction to an intrusive parent. Mom, understandably, is probably very much against the relationship. Daughter, as is sadly typical of abusive relationships, is still in "love". Couple of drinks in, they came to the "logical" conclusion to road trip to the coast or wherever together. Mom reacted a bit hysterically, but debatable on over reaction, reasonable or hysterical given the assault. Knowing the situation with the children would clarify a planned run away or drug/booze fueled escape from crazy mom. Best guess is drug fueled "love escape", but children situation tells a big part of the story. (Not giving up on that point as it matters a lot)
  23. This.. I pointed out it was never clarified many times. But here we are..
  24. Amusingly enough REI was started by a group of guys looking to acquire climbing gear at a lower cost than the available retailers in Seattle. So, I mean, hypocrite much? Also, were the fuck am I supposed to get my Olu Kai shoed without REI?!?!?
