  1. This! While there are certainly some Texas haters in the media, in broad strokes the media loves Texas mostly because of a huge fan base that engages/reads/reposts their content. Also, because Texas is a big brand and that itself draws a similarly huge hater response group. The same can be said for all the helmet schools, and a few upstarts as well as also rans. So writing about Texas or an Ohio State, Bama, Michigan is going to get clicks, shares and engagement whether that content is positive or rage bate.
  2. Science!!!! Play hard and win all your games is how... You win games and championships! Who knew?
  3. Well, in pure speculation I think all this combined @Wulaw Horn point plus 5 other items potentially play into this never ending narrative. First, aggie has hired HCs that for various reasons get the attention of media. Next, they are always, constantly spewing propaganda about how much money they have and this appears to be supported by some of the coaching hires. Reporters mostly suck today and they aren't digging into the aggie budget. Also, they do actually have some money just none they can spend elsewhere due to the coaching choices. Third, they rarely dip into a losing record. They are know for 8-4 for a reason. A big part of it is 3 of their 4 OOC are nobodies at their stadium, but again this takes looking at the receipts and sports Reporters are lazy. Fourth, Texas is a football state, and I firmly believe writers will generate a rivalry/heel for plot when one may or may not exist in a competitive aspect. Perhaps a similar reality is true for Miami in football for Florida. Finally, reporting sucks for the most part these days. If it isn't sponsored by someone, it's written to generate rage. Hate sells, it sells really well. So does envy. Social media influencers make billions off showing their great looks and "amazing life" and/or telling everyone why their lives suck.
  4. Sigh.. I lived a big portion of my life in short walking distance to Dirty's, Magic Wok, Grande Mart, Showdown, and Taco Shack. (And the rub and tug joint until it go shut down, not that I ever went in there) We don't know how good we have it when we are in the middle of it.
  5. Hate to question your sage logic there, but really, like Bama before them, aggie more lives vicariously THROUGH Georgia rather than fictionally beating them. It would end in a magical moral victory if they did play them though.
  6. Dude Billy ain't no ladies man either and at least Graham ain't sportin' the chin beard.
  7. It's know to end careers by October in 9 out of 10 aggie QBs.
  8. When is aggie gonna get my boy Graham on the god damn gravy train. He's more than towing the line and uses big words to sound smart.
  9. Well Josh, lets pull of the receipts shall we... So... you lost to all but 1 ranked team you played and dropped 4 out of 5 to end the season if we include the loss to 9th place B1G team USC who needed the W to break 500 on the season. The soul victory being New Mexico State at home. And Josh before you start waving your Tiger flag around end of season is how you measure a team. A champion is measure on how they finish. You wanna call 8-5 winning, well shit Josh, I gotta bullshit. That said, I absolutely support your propaganda regarding the upcoming season. Get them on the roller-coaster!
  10. 4 QBs in the first 10 picks? I'm well known to be an idiot and certainly not an NFL draft guru, but isn't that a massive number of QBs in the first 10 picks? 2024 (5 in first 10) is the only year I found 4 or more in the first 10 picks going back to 1980 but again, my search skills suck.
  11. There are a few really good ones, but fuck is it difficult to sort them among all the chaff.
  12. You tell me that seeing Kreul in an Ousux headband, sportin' a mullet and tossing a Neenja star wouldn't make you think Krull.. I call you a liar to your face.
  13. It's not particularly relevant to this show or case, and probably belongs elsewhere but it ties in at least. Homicide detectives are measured on their close rate, just like anyone in sales. So, I'm going to use that as an analogy. (Please note this is gross oversimplification) You have, broadly speaking, generally 3 types of sales folks. You have longer term relationship builders that get a few big accounts and successfully milk them (relational), you have the grinder/closers that are always building their pipeline through networking, cold calls, referrals (grinders), pressure sales and some luck, then you have the guys that manipulate the system through a lot of different ways and coast until they are uncovered (weasels). (There is the rare relational grinder but they are absolutely the exception) You find the same in detectives. The relational tend to use existing contacts, spend time and move a little slower. Grinders tend to find a ton of possible suspects, pound pavement and investigate tons of leads. Then you have weasels that are, essentially just trying to pin it on the easiest culprit and will use immoral and often illegal tactics to "close the deal". They tend to be boastful and full of shit. Here's the thing, its not limited to Homicide detectives nor city/state but expands to federal. If you're ever called for questioning, get a lawyer, 100% of the time.
  14. I thought it was goofy, pretty stupid and funny as hell at a few point. I still don't know why the line by Grubbs' son: "Of course I'm never coming back you fine ass English Hill billy" killed me. Reggie Bush and Eminem cameos were fun. I also get not liking it, but don't get hating it at all.
  15. I quit on it. Not enough hate to fuel me and too predictable to keep my curiosity. Sucked!
  16. I said way up thread Kreul gave me the Krull vibes. If he starts wearing a mullet and throwing NeenJah stars all will be right with the world.
  17. I'm arguing with @Had Enough that we agree. Also, I'm admitting some personal preferences in my dating choices, but in a subdued manner. So, I'm not really sure.
  18. This thread has really gone potatoes up with all the veggie puns.
  19. Well put yes, that and reliving the John Mackovic era is bringing me fucking down.
  20. No man, you seem to continue to miss MY fucking point. Which is, when a player gets the nod over another in a starting position or a position, it does NOT necessarily mean the that player is more or less capable. There are lots of factors at play. Hence, just because Arch didn't get the nod over Ewers doesn't mean Arch is less capable than Ewers. Further, it was initially just a talking point when someone brought up Sanders and Thurman as a comparison that happened at UT. Seeing as this is a UT board I thought it relevant. Dunno why that concept is so difficult and not sure why we are arguing it as it appears you are agreeing with me. But by all means have the last word, I'm moving on.
  21. True, but some stupidity has a much higher chance of collateral damage in the fix.
  22. Right, you're correct. I used carries when I should have used touches. Semantics. The fact remains, in 1995 Shon Mitchell had equal touches to both Ricky Williams and Priest Holmes, combined. Both of who were superior running backs to Shon Mitchell. But Shon was running back and Ricky being used as a FB. The point of the entire discussion was backups being better than starters. Its was just a simple comparison point when Thurman and Sanders were brought up. This place will argue about any fucking thing.
  23. If you can find video of the Hawaii game early in season I think you'd disagree with your take on Ricky's ability as a freshman. He was the highest rated RB in the nation before he got here iirc and he was killing it. Just know you are now arguing on behalf on the vision of John Mackovic. while I argue agaist. Let that sink in.
