  1. They had 5 shots (2 on goal) to Nigeria's 0. That's not exactly parking the bus. They're just more tactical with their attacking than most teams. Parking the bus doesn't get you to the Quarters of Euro 2016.
  2. They get more out of their talent than anyone in the tournament, and it's because of the style of play. They can't play like Brazil and have admitted as such, because at the end of the day, they would just be a pretty bad version of Brazil. For a country that has a total population less than half the size of Austin, it's pretty remarkable what they've done. That's where the love comes from. Personally speaking, I'm partial to Iceland because I love their country and their people.
  3. Might want to see how Iceland vs. Nigeria plays out first.
  4. That'll do. Maybe add in an "enthusiastically" where you see fit.
  5. That's precisely what a move to Austin will do. Glad we're in agreement.
  6. The most obvious new stadium is Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park. You have to assume NYC for the final at MetLife and one of the semis at LA (either LA Stadium or Rose Bowl). I think Dallas and Atlanta will compete for the other semi.
  7. All of them. It's Omaha, man.
  8. I added the meal a la carte one way ($45) and did the snack bar the other way (spent $28). I didn't check a bag or select a seat (the other a la carte options). I have a spacious travel duffel on wheels that fits everything I need for a week. It helps that the overhead areas in the Dreamliner are massive. All in, round trip was around $600.
  9. I took the Norwegian flight in May, and it was at capacity outbound to LGW but probably 2/3 full on the return. That route is a God send for an affordable option to London on a Dreamliner.
  10. It holds 20,000, and they can sell beer. It's checks those two major boxes that no place else probably could.
  11. No. They would play 2019 and probably 2020 in a temporary place - probably Mike Myers.
  12. Did a 7th SEC team make it to the supers, and I didn't know it?
  13. Sadly, I grew up with the Amarillo Dillas and only knew of Gold Sox lore but never saw them play.
  14. Absolutely right about the AA Missions going to Amarillo under a new name. I think moving a AAA team to San Antonio was contingent upon a new downtown ballpark which to my knowledge isn't happening any time soon.
  15. Belgium because I'm half Belgian. And Iceland because I love their country, their fans and that they're capable underdogs.
  16. I think they usually announce the host sites on Sunday (in no particular order) and the full field on Monday.
  17. He's making a strong case for his second ASG appearance. NL Ranks OPS - 2nd WAR - 4th HR - 5th BA - 8th RBIs - 12th Among 1Bs, only Freeman can match his numbers so far.
  18. I've heard nothing but great things about the Berlin marathon. And I echo your sentiments to Clintonaldo. 1:42 is a killer time for a first half. It must be the soccer pedigree. I ran cross country in high school, and the soccer team was forced to train with us. Most of those guys were naturally gifted distance runners, but they mostly hated running outside of soccer.
  19. I ran my first international marathon last weekend (5/13) in Belgium/Netherlands. I finished in 3:37:52 which was 10 minutes faster than my previous marathon in January. The race started in the small Belgian town of Vise and went along the Meuse river. We crossed into the Netherlands, went through Maastricht and returned along the other side of the Meuse river back into Vise. The race was picturesque - I couldn't have asked for better surroundings. The temps were favorable too, and the course was mostly flat. I had some minor anxiety in that I wasn't sure how the hydration stations would work. They claimed that you needed to bring personal drinks (refillable bottles / camelbacks) in lieu of water stops. That turned out to not be the case. You had that option, but they had traditional water stops as well every 5 km. They also had "sponging stations," which I had never seen before. You got a sponge with your registration packet, and you could use that to sponge down at the water stops. I was impressed by the overall fitness level of the participants. It seemed like everyone took running seriously, and the majority of runners were affiliated with running groups or clubs. In the states, I see a lot of people who are just checking the box to say they've completed a marathon and don't really care about their training leading up to it or their time. That definitely wasn't the case with this race, and I don't know if that's typical of European races or if this one just drew a more competitive crowd. I'm taking a summer break and will resume a more serious training regimen this fall with Rogue. Looking forward to working with a coach for the first time and being around some runners that can push me to beyond what I think are my limits. And as always, I look forward to checking in on this thread and reading about everyone else's races and training.
  20. Anywhere. AT&T has absurdly great sight lines throughout the park. My favorite sections are 104-110 (lower box) along the 1st base line (visitor's dugout as well). You'll be looking out towards the bay from that vantage point. I'd recommend walking around the entire park especially along the arcade above McCovey Cove. You won't miss any action, and you'll be able to take in your surroundings which are pretty spectacular. If you can, find a way to get into the Gotham Club behind the scoreboard. Just avoid the 300s. It's cold up there even in August. That's the other thing - wear layers. It will be probably be cold unless it's a day game. Even then, you'll only be warm in the sun.
  21. You sure about that? I'm looking at his splits, and it looks like something happened around mile 19.
