  1. I can't think of a single scenario, even a highly implausible one, that should allow for Beard to stay.
  2. Everything you are saying makes sense.....IF this were the regular dismissal of a regular state employee. Optics matter in this case. Timing matters. Also, I am, very nervous (as each hour passes without Beard being fired) that someone is trying to workout a way for Beard to stay. If they have a video of her saying "I am going to walk into that room, break his glasses and start a fight that gets Chris fired. Screw him!!!" Beard would still need to go.
  3. I don't know. I am very disappointed that he hasn't already been fired.
  4. Burt M said "any scenario where Beard stays involved his fiancée being on his side, signing an affidavit of non-prosecution and posting a statement saying it was all her fault"
  5. You proposed a theory where Beard could stay and a key part of that was the fiancee accepting full blame. This would be meaningless to the University of Texas. It isn't about what actually happened in this case. It should be, but it isn't. Too many legitimate victims take the blame to stay on the gravy train. Everyone seems to know this except for you.
  6. I am open to the idea that CDC isn't the shot caller on those 2 hires, but, he will be the one with his ass on the chopping block if both tank.
  7. We're all different. 99% of my sports interest is in UT Football. I have always felt the Sark hire was a poor decision. The team exceeded my expectations this year but I think that was in spite of, and not because of, Sark. That is why I have a bone to pick with CDC. My apologies. I should have said going undefeated to the regular season and going to the CFB playoffs,
  8. This isn't about CDC predicting anything. I think their relationship issues were known and discussed by a hiring committee. Even if they weren't, when an important hire like this goes bad (and this is really bad), regardless of the reasons why, the person accountable faces consequences. When I bring up Sark, I certainly don't mean to be implying that he has gone off the wagon or has any personal or family issues. There is every reason to think he is being an excellent person. It is purely about performance. We've seen Aranda win the conference in year 2 and Dykes win the conference in year one. Sark has better players, more resources and isn't performing nearly as well. I do think that the people he reports to are very disappointed in these 2 (most important) hires of CDC. It doesn't matter why both went wrong. It only matters that they went wrong.
  9. This is where you and I disagree. A world of difference between paying players (which is now legal) and lying about Houston Nutt (likely at the direction of the AD now at A&M) compared to a Felony Strangulation charge against a woman.
  10. I've seen it as well, which is why I beat that drum. Also, just in my personal experience, people who blow important hires, regardless of the reasons why, take it on the chin. CDC's 2 most important hires have been poor. It doesn't matter why. These are high stakes with millions on the line. I am surprised that so many people here think there won't be consequences for him.
  11. My point is that CDC made 2 hires for his 2 most important positions that shouldn't have been made. I think the dirt on this chick was out there to be found. He either didn't look or ignored what he found.
  12. Was Urban charged with felony strangulation? As for CDC, well, if you don't think the way the Sark & Beard hires have turned out impact his standing with the people who control his employment, I think you are being naive.
  13. Tell me? No. It does, however, make it very clear to Chris Beard that any conduct (even if it is from a personal relationship) on his part that reflects poorly on the University of Texas can lead to his termination.
  14. My employer? No. I haven't signed a contract with any provision that allows for this. Chris Beard signed a contract with the above clause.
  15. I replied to this but I don't see that response. If this is a double response - my apologies. I am a regular guy in a regular nothing job. I don't make millions. I'm not a state employee. I don't have a contract. I think you knew your response was silly before you posted it.
  16. Our coaches talk publicly about our players' families and the impact they have. You don't think our AD digs deep on the fiancee of a possible employee to whom we will pay millions? If CDC didn't do this, shame on him.
  17. For a role like this, getting $5MM from a state position, CDC damn sure SHOULD have heavily considered all of this.
  18. They were together for 2-3 years before 2019 and still weren't married. Look, by itself, and with the Covid issue, the fact that he didn't marry her for 5 years isn't the end all be all of concerns. However, there was more than a bit of chatter, on the internet and elsewhere, that she was volatile and that the relationship had issues. CDC was likely aware of all of this. He made the hire and is accountable.
  19. Men hitting women is a huge problem. Women being abusive to men is a substantial (and unaddressed) problem. Rich guys with unlimited resources make poor decisions about crazy women and ruin their careers. We all agree on this. It is on CDC to look in to Beard's relationship with this lady and to figure it all out. When CDC hired Beard, he had been with this gal for about a half decade and still hadn't married her. Is that not a red flag?!? In 30 seconds on the Google machine I found this: https://247sports.com/college/texas-tech/Board/102952/Contents/That-other-guys-welcome-to-whornville-163694846/ "She (Fiance, Randi Trew) may have more to do with Beard leaving than some think. She was asked to resign or be fired from Frenship for abusing players. She would never get hired as a coach in the Lubbock area again. He asked Tech to hire her in the administration department and was told no. I suspect that was part of the agreement with him going to TU." Surely someone at Texas did some digging on Randi, correct? Someone must have talked to her previous employer. This woman and Beard were engaged, they were a package deal. The buck stops with CDC. I am not saying he should have a crystal ball. I am saying that I am confident he found out this relationship had issues and he still pulled the trigger.
  20. If there is one thing I hate its portal talk.
