  1. I don't think the portal shits out quality starters and future NFL 1st round draft picks. I'm not even saying that these guys are average college football players. They could be terrible and still be an upgrade for us until the talented freshmen are ready.
  2. Are Karic & Jones better than these guys? https://pokesreport.com/s/2476/cowboys-land-two-offensive-linemen-from-weekend-transfer-portal-visitors
  3. These coaches all turned things around quickly at Baylor. Think about all of the scandals and madness that have happened in Waco. All of it deserved. Still, Baylor has won the Big 12 3 times since our last conference title in football. Look, Sark is a millionaire and I'm just another keyboard warrior. Perhaps he is right, and rolling out basically the same o-line and LBs this year that were atrocious last year will work out for us. I guess people like me should shut up and stop complaining about it. It seems to be happening no matter what.
  4. Multiple times, I've seen people here post things like, "With our incredible skill position talent, if our o-line could just be functional, if it could just be average, we could win 9 or 10 games." I agree with that sentiment. We don't need all-american or all-conference o-line play from potential transfer portal additions. Baylor didn't need it from their transfer portal linemen when they won the conference. I don't have unrealistic expectations that we will find future NFL 1st round picks in the portal. I just want functional o-linemen who can make our o-line average. If we roll out roughly the same o-line as last year (less our best o-linemen from last year who is now gone) we won't be close to an average college football offensive line.
  5. No, that isn't the only thing they did. It was arguably the most important thing they did in going from 2 wins to conference champs.
  6. Kelvin would be at least a 3-year starter at any school in the country...including Bama & UGA. He will get NIL money anywhere. I think he wants to win and a 6-7 win Texas season would likely compel him to leave.
  7. I would like to believe they know talent too. As for playing it out and seeing what happens.....we did that last year and it was a disaster. Now, we will likely start pretty much the same crew with the best of the bunch no longer here. You said maybe no one hit the portal. They did last offseason......Baylor took multiple linemen from the portal and went from 2 wins to conference champs. If you don't find that point to be compelling, and a serious black mark on the talent assessment capabilities of Sark, then I don't know what else to say. ...and, if Sark wanted a kid and couldn't convince him to choose us over Baylor, he is definitely the wrong man for this job.
  8. You can be hyperbolic all you like, but if we have a poor season, Kelvin could leave.
  9. Please answer my question. Okay Is portal season over? No No more OL or LB are available or will become available? More could be available. Are we not adding anymore players between now and fall camp? Based on Sark not adding any O-line & LB transfers that are difference-makers last offseason and so far this offseason, I don't think so. He signed the number 1 OL class in the country, including two five stars who are likely to be better than many of the options available in the portal. I don't think they will meaningfully contribute this season. I am also worried we will have a poor season and many of the highly touted recruits will leave. Baylor added multiple linemen via the portal after a 2 win season and then won the conference. Miss me with the "he's made no effort to rectify the weakness on the team and just sat on his ass the last 4 months" bullshit. He hasn't done it for this season. If we suck again, and lose a lot of these freshmen, how will you feel then?
  10. Sark chose not to improve our O-line & LBs last year through the portal, and that more than anything else, led to a 5-win season. He has made no effort to rectify that mistake so far this offseason. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong, but for some surreal reason, he (wrongly) has confidence in the crap show we will roll out as starters at these position groups.
  11. This really isn't fair. Our coaches chose against immediate improvements at O-line and LB. I hope we don't ever go full-aggie and get mad at people for having legitimate concerns.
  12. I would be pleased with a 7 win season. I hope we can get it done.
  13. We needed a couple of o-line starters and LB starters from the portal. Neither happened. 7 wins is our ceiling. I don't think we get there. I think we improve to 6-6.
  14. Want to play a fun game? Go to Google and type in "Florida Man" and the day and month of your birth. There are enough crazy Floridians to have multiple wacky events for every day.
  15. I am too depressed about our o-line to go full offseason optimistic psycho, so I am channeling all of my irrational optimism into Ja’Tavion Sanders and what will surely be a first team All American season.
  16. Losing to ULM and UTSA is unthinkable (not impossible) and beating Bama is unthinkable (and impossible) so our season really starts 9/24 at Lubbock. I'd rather be naked and roll down a hill of broken glass than lose to Tech. Still, I am very worried about this game. I think you are going to see our o-line get manhandled by a bunch of 2 stars and JUCO transfers. Will that open the eyes of any of the irrational optimists on this board? I doubt it. There will still be time in the season to improve!
  17. I'd like to end the offseason thread with one last complaint about Sark not getting a couple of quality o-line starters from the transfer portal. Now, on to the spring!
  18. How many massages can a guy get for $230,000,000?
