  1. Seriously. Bunch of woke aching c unts around here. Take the joke, pussies.
  2. Hope Lina get whatever help she needs. Don’t really care about her job as judge. Her covid policy was overly aggressive in spite of the data. Like most in Harris county her ethics seems pliable at best. It’s just who we are here. She’s not the worst we’ve seen. She’s not great either. Pretty ineffectual. Seems unorganized and easily rattled by anyone questioning her. Not a surprise she’s having issues, but I hope she finds whatever peace she needs.
  3. No. He only played travel ball this summer. None of our intermediate team that won state in 2021 played all stars this year. That was the post covid year where lla stopped at state. No World Series that year and our kids basically said no more. Most of the kids on the team this year was their first time to be all stars. They still did really well.
  4. that was a cheap slippin jimmy episode not even a saul episode. it was ceratinly the BCS version of "the fly"
  5. the fact that you think people/businesses keeping more of the money they earned is a "government overspend" is certainly proof you need to refrain from commenting on anything regarding finance. You're a fucking imbecile plain and simple. My point remains that we have not had a true market interest rate since the Clinton admin. You either understand that, or you do not. Based on your last response i will assume you do not. it's okay, that bast majoroity of americans including many in congress and on the finance committe don't understand it either. That shit was going to come back to haunt us at some point and here we are. Unfortunately we have a demented imbecile in the white house surrounded by ignorant igealogued who have no idea what action could be undertaken in this situation.
  6. We haven't had a true "market" interest rate since the Clinton administration. all the folks who claimed the deficit and debt didn't matter are being proven wrong. Again. You know shit is bad when the fed no longer can play the currency shell game in order for the government to overspend on votes.
  7. This is a a very insightful observation with regard to Tom, Padma and Gail. They all truly seemed to be going though the motions this season. Tom just didn't seem all that engaged, Padma seems to want to be more an activist and is simply doing TC for the money at this point, and Gail was more or less a non factor. They have been doing this a long time now so i can see where they're over it. Problem is when we all notice it, the audience will be "over it" soon as well.
  8. It ended as it should have. Budha was the clear favorite and best of the lot. That said, it was a really weak season of chefs involved. They need to up their game on level of competition because this just was not that great a season. At least we were spared the corny over the top texas stereotypes that were so painful to watch on top chef texas. Of course, they seemed to replace that with some form of wokeness in almost every episode until the final two. I thought Damarr had a shot at the title early on, but he really faded. The southwestern theme of the semi finals was just not a good fit for him, but he seemed like a great dude and very talented chef. I would definitely go to his restaurant if ever in Minnesota.
  9. By all account Guy is a great guy and extremely charitable and has used his platform to help others in need. Sure his "act" can come off as douchey, but i never got the sense he was not a genuine guy at all. Not sure why Bordain felt the need to shit all over him.
  10. Intersting to me Alex isn't competing this time. Agree with Texzilla on Giada. She's terrible on these things. Zero respect for her judging skill on these shows. Surprised she's never fixed that beak of hers.
  11. add 4 days out to that list. totally agree with you on everything too. Love BCS, but any idea it's better than BB is luncacy.
  12. Attended Georgia James in their temporary space in the church saturday night before the LSU game. The oyster appetizer is insanely good. I had the ribeye that was cooked as perfectly as a ribeye can be cooked. THat said, the seasoning was really uneven. Way too salty in some parts, and not enough in others. All sides were exceptional. Only issue was wine. Their list is a bit abbreviated since they're in a temporary space. Fine. I get it. That said they had the ultimate wine issue that drives me freaking insane. Had a 2015 vintage on the list, and bring out a 2016. Goddamn it. How hard is it to understand your vintages and put the right ones on the list? That is a decision point for me, and often an incredibly important one.
  13. Austin's Clark's seafood and oyster is going to open on the corner of Montrose and Alabama. I'm a fan of this move.
  14. Perhaps try J bar M over on Leeland that recently opened. I have sampled it 4 times in the 3 weeks that have been open, and will put them at the top of the houston bbq heap right now. it has been consistent in it's excellence so far.
  15. I hit up L Bar M BBQ twice this week (Friday and Saturday), and i have to say it is freaking spectacular. Brisket was deeply smoky, tender, juicy and just flat our perfect. My 13 year old son who does not eat that much red meat at an entire pound of lean on his own. THeir portions are way generous. We had the regular and the jalapeno cheese sausage. They're both very good. Nothing life altering, but more than solid. We ordered both of them both days. Good enough to order again, but i wouldn't put it up there with lockhart style sausage. Nobody else gets it quite right. Ribs were okay at best one day, slightly tough tbh. I got a smaller portion on day two to give them another try and they were spectacular. Highly recommend. The turkey was done as well as turkey can be done. I would buy one of their turkey's for a thanksgiving dinner and be done with it. You're unlikely to find a better version. I hate turkey. I like their turkey. Side sampled were all great. I am particularly fond of the cauliflower gratin. The beans could have used a but more flavor. They weren't bad, but kind of bland which was surprising to me. THey had lots of stuff in them. will try again. Cream corn was fine. Mac and cheese was really stand out. THe building is new and really a comfortable and great place to hang out. I will absolutely be back, frequently. I encourage all of you to get over and support the place.
  16. The journalist senorita makes this season all worth it. mucha fuega
  17. this thing was a mess imo. the premise wasn't really bad as over the top world destruction and bond saves the day goes. Making M a pathetic old man was very much anti-bond. the new 007 was not good in that role at all. Craig seemed old as well, and most of this whole thing seemed forced. The villain was an all time weak version, and bordered on absurd while having a very thin plot. So far remove from LeChiffe who was a fantastic villain and realistic more or less. his reason for being in deep shit was crystal clear and realistic. this didn't really resonate. Bond's end made no real sense either. liked ADA, love Moneypenny, and liked M until this movie. Not sure where they go, but if they proceed with the woman 007/bond replacmeent and there is no more "james bond" in the franchise then that isn't going to be a money maker.
  18. you can still get almost everything that was on the DOlce menu at Vinotecca Rosa just down the street.
  19. fucking assholes let me know at 10:40pm on Sunday night that my 6:00am flight had been cancelled. I had a very important meeting at 10:00am in Houston so this was an absolute disaster for me. I had to drive home from Florida in my rental car. Cost me an extra $300 to return the rental at the HOU airport rather than Florida airport. absoutely unacceptable.
  20. it is probably my favorite expensive California Cult wine. It is exceptional every vintage and does not require 20 years of age to drink great which is kind of their target. they wanted to make a cult cab you could "drink now". Of course, they age well too, but generally there is not need. I had a 2016 recently that tasted like it had 15 years of age. it is simply exceptional juice. Wish it wasn't so damn expensive.
  21. pepper brooks
