  1. Stone Temple Pilots last Tuesday night was a really good show. Saw them at revention in Houston. Crowd was a bit thin honestly. THey have a new premium bar called 40 below, and we had access to that. They had Blantons for a reasonable $13 a pour. The show was great. I thought they were better this time than they were a year ago at CWMP. I really think Gutt does a fantastic job leading the band. He's not Weiland, who is, but he's certainly good enough that you don't really miss Weiland too much. The Demeo brothers clearly still love what they are doing. If you're into 90's nostalgia acts that are still performing at a very high level and offer an energetic show and still have passion for their music I would highly recommend it.
  2. pfffffttttt ain't nobody got time for that.
  3. took an offshore trip out of panama city last week with the kid. we only went about 1o miles off. 100 feet of water. luckily a very calm water day. We tore it up in number and variety. Caught several king mackerel, 2 Spanish mackerel, 3 mahis, 3 or 4 red snapper (out of season), grouper, bonita, black snapper, 2 triple tails (by far the best tasting fish) and a small red. the guide we hooked up with was fun, but dude was all freaking business about his fishing. will see if I can get some pics loaded up.
  4. that bats are a serious problem at the moment which makes the decision to start verlander even more absurd. That was simply a horrible decision in every way. He is historically bad he entire career staring on short rest. This was going to be no different. it ended exactly how I thought it would and now the rotation is fucked for the next series even if they advance. For a team that is so data driven they went against data hard here and it bit them in the ass. there was no data that indicated verlander should have gotten the ball there.
  5. the Porsche PDK's are just unbelievably good, reliable, and take an absolute beating with an absurdly low failure rate. Oddly enough the manual boxes they used in the early 997's were one of the very few things in those cars not made in germany, but japan and they have pretty high failure rates. knocks on wood......
  6. I think it’s hard to beat the atmosphere at lagasse stadium at the palazzo. They have a book in there, cool stadium seating, private sitting areas and great food. You probably need a reservation but I think it’s the best place to post up and watch sports for many hours.

  8. im only seeing 6 there, but either way it's a really kick ass rig.
  9. Supposed to be delivered to the dealership this past weekend but looks it comes in on the 11th. Then several more days to get the tint/satin coat. Pissed because I am going out of town this coming weekend and it really worked out perfect before. And so it begins before it even begins. Peace be unto you.
  10. bwwaahaahahahahahahaahahahah. you're making a huge leap in thinking the tune was the reason.
  11. Drinking another one right now, bonanza. The Wagner reds are crazy. Doesn’t matter if it’s caymus, caymus special select, quilt, 1858, bonanza, belle glos CLARK and telephone, they all literally taste the same.
  12. You know the country is in a bad place when we have people trying to gloss over this. It’s not the worst thing anyone has ever done, but it’s absolutely reeks of cronyism and impropriety. There should be 100% agreement on that. I’m not calling for the mayors head or anything, but i am glad to see the media doing its job.
  13. Has dan Crenshaw proven to be a corrupt, contemptible piece of shit? Has Crenshaw had anyonenin his office dox opposition party operatives, be convicted and serve prison time? No? Then I guess Crenshaw would be fine. As would any number of others in the dem party who are high character individuals serving the public. Sjl is a full on piece of shit human.
  14. the guy rolled with Sheila Jackson lee and you see that as a positive, but KPRC and Buzbee are trash? Dear lord. Buzbee may be trash, but you're clearly part of the "party before anything" morons if you think working for or associating with the likes of SJL is anything other than terrible.
  15. corruption in politics is huge issue locally and nationally no matter which "team" has power or which one you're on. Principles matter, and things will never get better until people stand and vote on principles regardless of party.
  16. I have no idea, nor do I care if he is or is not. I know he's certainly corrupt, and also think he has done a fairly decent job given he was handed a pretty rough situation with the pensions. like most things though, he is beholden to bad ideology. If he really wanted to do the city a solid he'd break the public sector unions and really re-do, cancel out those absurd pensions rather than a band aid. he won't do that, and I understand why.
  17. was there anyone other than a party loyalist who didn't know he was corrupt? I actually think he does an okay job, but I never had any illusions he wasn't as dirty as it gets going back to his city council days. he's virtually a living caricature of a city politician from the wire.
  18. In Texas, there are four types of criminal homicide: 1) murder, 2) capital murder, 3) manslaughter, and 4) criminally negligent homicide. Here is a breakdown of the four homicide crimes in simple English: 1. Murder: You commit murder when you intentionally and knowingly take someone else’s life, or when you intend to commit an act that is clearly extremely dangerous to human life and in effect, causes death to another person. Murder is usually a felony of the first degree. 2. Capital Murder: There are different ways to commit capital murder. You commit capital murder if you kill a fireman or member of law enforcement. You commit capital murder if you intentionally kill someone while committing arson, kidnapping, robbery or burglary, terroristic threat, obstruction or retaliation, or sexual assault. Capital murder is a capital felony. 3. Manslaughter: You commit manslaughter if you “recklessly” cause the death of another person. Manslaughter is a felony of the second degree. 4. Criminally Negligent Homicide: If you are criminally negligent and you take someone else’s life, it would be considered criminally negligent homicide, which is a state jail felony. Some “accidental killings” fall into this category. For the most part I saw this as scenario 4. The 911 call and her state seemed to at least lend some credence to her honestly thinking she was in her own home, thinking it was an intruder, etc. That said, not much else seemed to indicate deadly force was the go to reaction here. The neighbor who shared the wall also seemed to corroborate that he didn't "attack" her, at least not that she heard. All that said, the cross exam of her was brutal to her case so I can see how they got to the max charge. I don't know that I would have gotten quite there, but I know I am certain she should serve jail time regardless of whether I think she's guilty of murder, manslaughter or negligent homicide. Point being, I think she is guilty of one of the above no matter what, and I please to see the jury "get it right". None of that means shit to lost soul departed too soon.
  19. pretty shocked they got to "murder" here, but I would lean on saying that in this case if they were going to get it wrong on one side or the other I am more comfortable with murder than innocence. What I mean is "not guilty and walk" would not have been acceptable to me. You are responsible for every bullet that leaves your gun. I cannot believe this situation deserved not guilty. even if you made an "honest mistake" an innocent man is dead. that should not go unpunished IMO. On the other hand, I do not believe this girl murdered this guy based on what I have read and followed. Had I been on the jury I think I would have voted for manslaughter and 15-20 and somewhere near whatever the max is for the offense. I am still more okay with murder than not guilty, but I think murder is a reach.
  20. Last Blood was everything I thought it would be. Probably a bit too wordy. I do think Rambo went a bit too far to being a psychotic murderer as opposed to a military spec ops killer, but I get the whole revenge for the young girls thing. I can live with that. It is a Rambo movie here so the ridiculousness seems to fit well.
  21. this thing is crazy. you have witnesses two floors away claiming they heard a big commotion, but the girl with a totally different story who shared a wall. The girl who shared the wall has a version that seems to align with the 911 call, and seems to corroborate the police officers story more so than people two floors away. That said, I cannot see how any court could apply a stand your ground scenario here. The guy was in his own house! I'm not sure based on everything I have read I can get to a murder here, but I can definitely get to manslaughter and would definitely go for some jail time. This is sad all the way around.
  22. first place I ever stayed in Vegas circa summer 1992. It was the Ramada San Remo back then, and it was about as low rent, $hithole a place as I had ever stayed in my then 21 years of life. I think only a spring break trip to stay at the Days Inn in Destin Florida may have been worse. Pretty sure when hooters took over they did noting more than put up some orange paint. surprised hooters last as long as it did. Speaking of which, how the heck do Ecalibur, Tropicana, Luxor and even Bally's stay open. Those places are all absolute dogs.
