  1. And you're right about a track. Zero shot any of these cars keep up with a super car around a track with a turn. Funny moment in ep 2 is at the end the rich guy, Iranian real estate mogul, at the end says, "I have a new appreciation for sheet boxes", which is the term for all these homemade cars. he didn't say it with any malice, but with proper deference to these beat up homemade cars cranking out 1,000 HP.
  2. anyone watching "Fastest Car" on Netflix? Pretty cool show. Season 2 is out there now. For those not in the know the show pits 3 home made drag cars against a super car. It's funny to see how the home racer people react to the "rich guy". the "rich people" have been all over the map. Episode 1 the rich guy is a total douchebag of epic proportions and a total dick. All he does is crow on and on and on about how rich he is, and how much all his $hit cost and anyone not rich is a loser. Episode 2 and 3 were my favorites. Rich guy number 2 was pretty cool and definitely approachable. RIch guy 3 was "redneck with money" guy, and he was awesome. The 3 street racer guys definitely liked him, and he was basically "one of them". Rich guy 4, was a hot blonde chick who owns a car performance shop in LA. She was pretty cool too. Haven't watched the last 3 episodes yet, but its a pretty fun show. These home made dragster folks build some incredible performance with the resources they have. Most of the rich people with the super cars cannot drive them at all. Out of the 4 episodes I have seen only 2 of the supercars were driven to their capabilities, and honestly one of them didn't really do that either. None of them know how to properly work their launch control. Actually, one of them does. anyway, check it out. it's fun.
  3. the problem here is the owner of the Texans is a longhorn alum and played for coach royal on a national title team. cannot put the aggies on him like that (note NOT A TEXANS fan)
  4. Thing is this confession if no more nonsense than that of dassey. We know beyond any shadow of a doubt, 100% verified the murder absolutely, positively did not occur in the manner in which dassey claimed. There is not a single piece of forensic evidence to support that farce of a confession. Not. One. It was so absurd they came up with a different story for the second trial, but of course, that one doesn’t match dasseys bullshit confession either. That’s the issue with their whole case.

  6. if avery talked about building a rape/torture chamber there would need to be some evidence that such a place exists or it's simply jailhouse propaganda. There is no such evidence of which we are aware. that isn't to say he didn't have one, and I am not saying he didn't say he had one. maybe he did. to date, we do not know of any such corroborating evidence of it. Like I have said countless times, I believe 100% SA is a psychopath 100% capable of committing a violent crime and murdering someone. Based on the poor defense and proven corrupt police, and lack of consistency in the prosecutions attempt to prove the murder (they told two different stories of the murder one of which is 100% proven false) I cannot say that avery was proven to have murdered Theresa halbach. I firmly believe he at a minimum deserves a new trial as does Dassey.
  7. we went to doris metropolitan this weekend, and the steaks were incredible. We did a sampler platter where we sampled 4 of their best cuts including some a5. This steaks are phenomenal. They may have been the best steak house steaks I have had in the city. every cut was spectacular On the down side, their sides just are flat out underwhelming and boring. They're not "bad", they're just clearly not a focus or they're simply trying to appear "different" with their sides, but they just miss that mark on them for what is expected of a great steak house. I am all for "different", but theirs are just pedestrian. Their wine list is also by a very very very long measure a huge weak spot. The somm there is new, and I am pretty sure I would have been a better hire, and I do not claim to be a decent somm on any level. She told us they were about to start focusing on pouring the restaurant profits into the wine program so they obviously are aware their wine list is far from meeting expectations of a steakhouse/fine dining situation. Coppa has a far superior list just to name one place that gets it right with their list. we had 6 people and our bill was 1800 before grat which also seemed excessive given none of our wines were more than 180 and we only had 3 bottles. Basically, it was a mixed bag. Epic steaks, but everything else left a good bit to be desired.
  8. Anyone been to the Bird Haus over in the conservatory in downtown? I have been a few times. The hot chicken isn't really all that hot, but it is flavorful and cooked nicely. I will say I think they do need to fry a bit hotter as their chicken is most certainly on the greasy side. They have good fried pickles too. Since the spicy isn't all that hot I decide to try the Reaper once. Mother of Hell that mother*cker was so overwhelmingly, unrelentingly, unquestionably lava hot I only got two bites into it, and had to give up. I went and got a regular spicy. In the meantime my mouth was on absolute fire to the point I couldn't talk and breathing hurt, and then things got really bad. THat shit hit my stomach and it felt like I had consumed a large hunk of white hot charcoal. I thought I was going to yak everything up, but held on and went to the restroom where my body started sweating profusely for a few minutes. THings settled down and I went back and ate a few bites of the regular chicken when my second and much much much more intense attack hit me. I ran to the shitter again, didn't yak anything up, but again got a bad case of the sweats and pain in my digestive tract like lava was running through me. I started sweating to the point I was dripping and my shirt was soaked through. THis lasted 3-5 minutes where I honestly thought I might need to go to a hospital or something. It was unreal, and the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. I eat spicy shit all the time. That said, NEVER have I had anything as spicy as this nor have I ever had anything close to that kind of reaction. I had two more similar episodes, but they were much less severe in both intensity an duration. Bottom line, check this place out, but unless youre really into harming your health stay the f*ck away from the reaper level of spice. Dear God. I am afraid when the final exit comes my anus is simply going to melt.
  9. they are playing Minute Maid Park in Houston next August, and have played large stadiums at times in the past. I wouldn't say they're a perennial stadium band, but certainly they can play those venues in certain markets.
  10. I am going against the grain here, and I don't hate this at all. I also think American Idiot is a spectacular piece of work.
  11. this weekend I had a 1986 Medoc Chateau Saint-Saturnin at a dinner. It was quite underwhelming in most ways. Pretty "young" still, but also very flat and one note that I find more typical of burgundy than Bordeaux. It was definitely the most boring wine of the weekend. Others I had included a 2016 Dumol Chardonnay Chloe that was spectacular, 2015 La Jota Cab that way outkicked it's price point. I also took a flyer on a new budget wine from the Wagner (Caymus) Family called 1858 Paso Robles. It was the "wine of the year" at total wine, and for 31.99 after the 6 bottle discount I have to say it is about as good a daily drinker food wine as you could find. It is definitely on the fruity/jimmy side as most of the Wagner wines are. It is unmistakably a wine made in their highly concentrated style, but a bit more smooth and subtle than CAymus or Quilt or some of the others. Strong recommend on it for it's price point. I also had an Adaptation Cab which is the Odette entry level wine. FOr $50 it is also a strong buy, and pairs great with food.
  12. would depend on where theyre located. if theyre in your closet or somewhere dark and cool naturally a 12 hour power outage is meaningless. If they're in you garage and you live in texas, a 12 hour power outage likely turns them to vinegar.
  13. they have a new co-op program with united. if you have united presidential card you get a pretty good discount, and can add family members to your account for $50 (this may not be discounted), but the regular yearly fee is discounted for sure. totally worth it IMO.
  14. Guys available who had better resumes than Charlie, and I am not AT ALL saying they turned out to be better in their jobs, nor am I saying they would have worked out better at TExas. Chances are they would not have, but the list included: Briles Malzhan (he openly stated he wanted the job) Mora Jr - they interviewed him and moved on quickly David Shaw - turned down the job twice mainly because he had his dream job, and we didn't offer him enough to make texas his new dream job Harbaugh - was a really hot name to return to CFB. he was waiting to get the UM job, but for the right price likely would have taken the Texas job (according to someone who would know) CHarlie Chris Peterson - we didn't even consider him Hindsight, it would seem Briles would have obviously been better, but we would have been really embarrassed. Malzhan would have been exponentially better than CHarlie, but im not sure he would have been a great long term fix. My guess he would have been about like Mackovich here. Mora likely wouldn't have worked, but then again who has worked out at UCLA? He still a better football coach than Charlie, but probably not a long term solution. the rest, meh...in the end we checked a non-football box with Charlie, and got a guy I think we are relatively happy with as of now. Recruiting has picked up dramatically, toughness and playing hard has picked up dramatically, and we have developed a QB after 10 years in the desert.
  15. saban had agreed to a contract he was ready and willing to sign (this is 100% true). he mandated it be to his desk by the Friday before the red-banquet. mack and powers got word and blew the thing up.
  16. I was fine with the hire at the time as long as he hired a great staff. The moment he brought shawn twatson along his tenure here was over before it started. you cannot bring a guy to run an offense in an offense driven league who was fired from two of the worst offenses in the conference previously. it also didn't help that he brought a DC who'd been fired for sucking as DC at Okie Aggy. Charlie was doomed to fail when he hired his staff. Never mind he was also dumb enough to kick off to start both halves of a game and decline penalties when the opposition had made a first down.
  17. you know wha tis so funny though? we were on the hook for only 2 years. Had they fired him last year his buyout would have been the average of what USF has paid in him salary x remaining years. they paid him like 500k. they could have fired him for 1.5 mil. This year they're paying his full salary so they will have to pay him full freight on two years when they run him off after this season. hahahahahaha. should have pulled the plug last year, dip shits. like the old saying goes, never put of until tomorrow what you know should be done today.
  18. if you're in a short interest position this morning...yikes.
  19. Embarrassing that people know so little about hunting, guns, second amendment, tyranny, etc. they think confiscating something from From someone else is an effective exercise of government power without realizing the liberties lost and the danger of it. Calling an ar 15 a “military weapon” is beyond idiotic. No military on the planet would Go to battle with that gun. But they look scary and really the left just wants to ban all guns. They really do want to turn the us into Venezuela. Do any of you really think the second amendment is about hunting. Surely none of you think that, right?
  20. This tough guy is going to take some guns, eh? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I drove around 500,000 between a 318, a 335, a 540i, and then I had 3 x5’s. One 4.4, and 4.8 txt and a x5m. Every one of those was various levels of bad. The xm was a demon nightmare. I keep thinking it’s due to the x5 being made here vs the others being made in Germany. Idk.
  22. do you have SUV's, or just the M cars? I cannot recall. I think you actually had an SAV X5M too, right? Count your blessings.
  23. at least you will be well trained in dealing with terrible service and cars that routinely break down from your time with BMW.
