  1. This is pretty much the thread ender. Kap is a moron, Nike is pandering and the rednecks faux outrage is expected.
  2. I did an overnight brisket that is done and rafting in the cooler for late afternoon lunch. Should be great.
  3. easy to do when it's so easy to focus on how utterly ignorant she is.
  4. german engineers gonna german engineer.
  5. the correct hotel is the Grand Del Mar. that place is unreal. Addison restaurant there is probably the best meal I have ever had.
  6. gosh those 993 cabs look awkward
  7. why would any big hitters want to go and spend 2-4 years hitting in what amounts to the astrodome as far as being hitter friendly. If you're a power hitter or a guy who drives that ball you're not going to want to go play at the Disch at 345 down the lines. That simply isn't a good business decision. all these guys think they're going to play pro ball. they don't want to not be able to put up ample power numbers compared to their peers. From that perspective DF field is a net negative. Quite the opposite for pitchers. we all hated the "small ball" that relies on pitching and defense, but that is the way our park is set up.
  8. crazy and historic what this 21 year old dude is doing. my goodness. Will be interesting to see the moves they make when Springer and Corlabia return.
  9. my post wasn't in jest. I actually do enjoy both of them as commentators. I know everyone hates on Galindo, but the guy is a good homer, enthusiastic and entertaining. Yeah, he can be a bit awkward at the wrong moments but the guy does his job with passion, and loves the Longhorns. I enjoy that.
  10. I feel like we have found a way to combine the best of little league and play tournament ball with the best players from our little league who want to face better competition. Every kid on our tournament team plays in our neighborhood little league. 12 of the 13 play multiple sports. You're totally right about not knowing a ton until they're 14/15. Some kids are going to grow into beasts. Some will stall out. some will decided it's not worth the sacrifice to continue. Some won't have the vision to track the ball once guys start throwing 75+, etc. We play a lot, but we do not subscribe to the kind of rigor Don Johnson has described, and his post is absolutely accurate for most of these teams that are select ball only type programs. We have found a way to be highly competitive and win at multiple classification levels of USSSA without multiple practices per week, and without running kids off who haven't developed the way we wished, or have stalled a bit. We did heavily recruit family's, and this fall will be our 5th year together and we have not lost a single player in 5 years. e had one family last year who's kid was by far our weakest player. They reached out at one point and talked about possibly quitting because their kid was behind and really struggling to keep up with better pitching. PAart of it was, for whatever reason, they switched hitting coaches. That plan did not work. Anyway, my question to them was, "does he still love playing on the team, is he having fun despite struggling a bit, does he look forward to the tournaments"? The answer was yes to all of them. I explained we do not care if he is struggling. The point is to have a team where he can struggle but still enjoy the game and not feel a ton of pressure that he is going to not get to bat, or not play the field at least 3 innings per game. that just isn't what we do. We frankly win more with pitching and defense so struggling at the plate isn't the end of the world.
  11. District tournaments have started. Good luck everyone.
  12. Yeah. I have a soft spot for the 993 and natural aspiration. I realize there are better performing examples available. I am just partial to the “S” version especially with the 993. The fact that they continue to escalate in price also indicates the market values them as well.
  13. The x3,5,7 are all the same sausage, different length. The new design is interesting. I vary between thinking it’s awesome, and thinking it looks like the less retarded cousin of tow-mater from The Disney Cars franchise.
  14. They’ve been stable to slightly up for years. They didn’t send many Carrera S models here back then.
  15. if only I had some extra cash laying around... https://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/listing/1998/porsche/911--carrera--s/2042998
  16. hhahahahahaahah. im not laughing at your predicament, but I am laughing at how familiar the "no key found" issue seems. they have clearly not resolved that system being a total POS.
  17. new 718 GT4 just dropped. damn, I really want one of these. https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/718/718-cayman-gt4/
  18. coming up I have: Train/Goo Goo Dolls (may have to skip due to baseball tournament) Rolling Stones Smashing Pumpkins/Noel Gallagher Social Distortion Stone Temple Pilots
  19. Mine was mostly electrical but some mechanical too. It was ultimately the electrical that could never be fixed.
  20. isn't it time to face the fact that out of the 10 W movies we have to date, 7 of them are basically terrible. the prequels are terrible. no spinning it. all of them are terrible. of the middle 3 (original trilogy) Empire is fantastic and ANH is really really good. ROTJ is entertaining, but not really good. TFA was nothing more than a remake of ANH, but with a "BIGGER" death star. Fail. hard fail. It was better than any of the prequels, but it isn't good by any stretch. TLJ is straight trash. That leaves Rogue One which is great. Really great. I liked that one a ton. it was a worthy prequel to ANH. was it actually a prequel, or a supplemental parallel plot line within ANH? Either way, it was awesome. I didn't see Solo, but the trailer was so bad, and it following TLJ I simply wrote it off as awful. There was plenty of data of the franchise making epically awful movies to reach that conclusion. I will probably go see this last installment since im this far invested in the story, but my expectations are it will be terrible. I guess if you bat .300 in MLB you're gold. If you're billion dollar movie franchise and you're .300 you're just not doing a very good job.
  21. they've been trying to "work out the kinks" on all this stuff since Gen 2 X5. it's a shame what has become of BMW from a reliability and user standpoint. They just cannot be trusted. They're still fun to drive and they continue to push the envelope with design and technology, and their engines are generally awesome. that said, I cannot tell you how many people, myself included have said verbatim, "my X5 is awesome when it works". my last one I had for 18 months. it spent 9 of those months in the shop. literally.
  22. I have a pretty expensive shun Damascus “western chef” that doesn’t hold an edge all that great nor does the handle really fit my hand well. I have a set of some cheap ass “culinary institute of America” branded knives that I use all the time and get the job done. I’m over the “expensive chef knife” deal.
  23. You can’t take that big ass trailer down there and smoke in your parking lot?
  24. hard to disagree with this. that is one of the fines looking automobiles ever created.
