  1. I might consider mayor Pete. Zero shot any of these other low functioning imbeciles have any shot at my vote. And that doesn’t mean I’d vote for trump. Didn’t vote trump last election. Might this one. Depends on who the dems nominate. If they go with Bernie, Biden or one of those imbeciles, warren, morning going libertarian, write in or trump. Pete May have a shot with me. I’d need to see and hear more about him.
  2. that is the 718 boxster/cayman and the macan. not every customer can start with a 2 seat roadster.
  3. I am in a mamba green macan loaner. just had my Panamera gts first issue. think one of the air suspension arms has died. seems to be a pretty common occurrence on these cars. anyway, this green color is pretty damn loud and popping. I don't think I would buy it, but it is very cool. This macan is base model 2019. it only has 200 miles on it. I have to say it has to be the most fun to drive suv on the planet. the thing corners like a 911, and is just a ton of fun to drive in the city traffic. it is comfortable, quiet, fun as hell, looks great, and has enough storage/utility to be user friendly. I can see why they have sold so many of these things. it's just a great package as an entry point to their brand. The turbo or GTS model with a real engine would be incredible. that is the one thing on the base model, that 4 banger just isn't really moving the needle.
  4. Spotted in river oaks on my way home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have a buddy who has one, and swears by it.
  6. this is truly the best answer. so simple, yet so perfect every time.
  7. it's a tough thing. you want to make sure you're son is working hard and you're teaching him to "earn" time, but your coaches sound like f*cking morons frankly. they clearly are not thinking long term greedy and developing players. we used to get our asses kicked all the time when we first started. we have ended the last two fall seasons ranked in the top 2 in the nation for usssa. we have developed pitching and developed players over the course of 5 years. we don't give a shit about seed games other than using them to develop. we are more than happy to be a bottom seed. that usually means we get to play the one seed at 10;00 am or noon rather than playing in the 4v5 game at 8 am. we can throw our ace the first game of the day when he is most fresh and move on from there. cannot ever imagine being on a team that doesn't roster bat. so many of these jackasses just get it wrong on so many levels. i'd definitely try and scout a better environment. this kind of shit will ruin a kid's love for a great game at an early age. what possible reason could anyone give or make up to let all but one player bat? what a f*cking choad.
  8. it has been a great experience for these kids and parents for sure. Find another tournament ball team that hasn't lost a single player in 5 years. it's pretty unprecedented from what I can tell. we have people asking all the time if we have any spots and to let them know if we ever need a player.
  9. this is bullshit. our team has never not roster batted. we have played probably 300 games, and not once have we ever even considered not roster batting. that is one of our mandates. one time for a one day tourney we took 12 kids to an event, and still roster batted. they're on the roster, they show up, they're batting all day, and no one ever sits out two consecutive innings. we chose the players, they're playing and we coach them up to get better.
  10. we have a team that sort of has combined daddy ball with for profit ball that has worked out extremely well for the kids on the team. All of them play in our neighborhood little league. From that we took the best players available. From that group we asked the 3 guys with the best 3 players on the team to form an oversight committee. we then hired a professional coach with some very clear guidelines. 1. you will not play or not play kids because they do, or do not take lessons from him. it is a meritocracy, especially on sundays when we want to win 2. you play the kids infield and outfield on seed game day, and let them rotate a bit to keep them all engaged 3. every kid will pitch. some pitch only on Saturdays, and then we have bracket pitchers for sundays. that has served us very well 4. we structured his pay based on games played in tournaments. this ensures he puts the kids in the best places to win on sunday. the more games we play on sunday, the more money he makes. this really has kept daddy ball and coach bias out of the process. 5. we picked players based on ability, but also their whole family. our team will have been together 5 years this fall, and we have yet to have a player leave. it's a great group of kids and familys. no animosity, no pettiness. we don't play much in the spring due to all the kids playing little league. we play a ton in the fall while encouraging the kids to play other fall sports, and get our Saturday seed games scheduled accordingly. we saw select ball done with "pay to play" coaches and with "daddy ball". inevitably those teams fail, and have lots of turnover. we had a unique opportunity to assemble and run a team a bit differently, and I am glad we decided to do it. our costs structure is basically we pay dues that cover field rentals for practice, tournament entry, insurance, and our paid coach. they're nothing more than "cost".
  11. whatever your reason for going to Galveston id make sure to hit Farley bucks.
  12. as much as I love the Ford gt. it just isn't the same without the V8. I don't care if the 6 performs as well or not. the car absolutely should have a V8 in it. that is the heart, soul and heritage of it. you have a v8 in all the premium mustangs, but not in the super car? Gtfo.
  13. this is the kind of thing we need. there should be some basic principles on which we all can agree that would make this a better place. this is one of those examples. Hope they can get it done. if they would add term limits to it these two would solve untold number of problems we face as a country, most of which is foisted upon us by career politicians who have no idea what it is like in the "real world".
  14. went to Glorious Sons at HoB bronze peacock room last night. it was such a great show. love that band. one major concern I would have as I was watching the lead singer reminded me of brent smith (lead singer of shine down) circa 2008 in that it appears he's go serious drug issues. I once watched the shinedown "somewhere in the stratosphere" live performance on palladium, and smith was pretty bloated, sweaty, and clearly using. He later admitted his struggle with heroin during that whole tour. Glorious singer's appearance and mannerisms and lack of balance reminded me very much of smith at that time. Maybe it was just part of his act, but if an act he's going to win an academy. that said, great show, lots of energy and I love almost every tune they play. it was neat to see them in such a small venue, and I am pretty surprised they're not playing much bigger venues by now.
  15. they're listed as one of my all time "best worst band" ever. although I did enjoy their live show i attended circa 2008 or09.
  16. I quite agree with this take as well, and to top it off on Radiohead they seem so hell bent on denying the greatness of those records and insisting on deep cut type stuff that their live shows aren't even enjoyable because they don't play much if any of the hits that made them great. I love some of their music, and I kinda get a good bit of it that maybe isn't for me.
  17. Sort of the opposite of the underrated or ignored album thread. We list bands/songs that people drool over and proclaim to be awesome that you just don’t get or flat out think is dog shit. My current two: 21 pilots billie eilish. I dont get the pilots. And eilish is just flat fucking terrible but I hear people, mostly radio hosts crowing about her greatness
  18. There is an exception to every rule. This would be the exception.
  19. There’s an exception to every rule. That is the exception.
  20. And the reality will set in that the answer is the kind who can go drop 300k in a weekend for a pair of cars, and then realize they are just jealous. I always find that it says way more about the person who judges one based on the cars they drive than the car says about the owners.
  21. The exhaust note on the gts is a work of art. I was concerned about that when they put the turbos on the gts, but it appears there is no issue there. Beautiful machines. Enjoy!
  22. Tax revenues are up and employment is full. There’s not a revenue problem. It’s a spending problem. Outspending cash flow by one trillion isn’t a revenue issue.
  23. Dayum! Way to blow 300k on a Saturday.
  24. That’s what mine has and it’s freaking awesome. You should definitely get the guys too. That turbo has sick power.
