  1. It being a “special week” and all how about you hook us up with a pastrami one day?
  2. Looks like Porsche just dropped the mid model re-fresh of both Macan and Panamera. Off as it seems like both of those models just came out a few months ago. The Panamera refresh is odd to me. It sort of looks more like the 2010-2013 inaugural Panamera. Seems like a step back, although I always thought the MK2 2014-2016 front end of the Panamera was their best looking front to date. The back from the b pillar beyond was so awkward from the side view.
  3. Im not really an audiophile so I never have the higher end sound system unless I buy something a couple of year old that is equipped with it. Porsche does a Burmeister sound upgrade that is a 7,500 option. no way I would ever do that in a car. pretty sure you get nothing back on that when you sell. nobody is going to pay a premium for that in the used market. Same with the carbon brakes at 9,000. those things add virtually nothing on trade/resale.
  4. circa 1988 New Edition, Al B Sure and Bobby Brown in Shreveport/Bossier City. Pretty sure I was the only white person there. Great Show.

  6. If you have a chance to go see the cult sonic temple tour, do it. Amazing. Those guys are so damn good. They play a ton of stuff spanning their entire catalog that you won’t ever hear again, but should
  7. show is pretty tight. great season to me although it does need more display of cool cars and hot chicks. I am actually enjoying the Bobby/Chuck team. I am sure that is going to turn at some point and things will get ugly again.
  8. they have a dish at Kay's called "I drank too much last night". It's basically a bacon, chicken fried steak, cheese and cream gravy omelet. Crazy too is the whole kitchen is made of copper. It's such a non-descript building in a one horse town, and you walk in to this gleaming copper kitchen with amazing food. I haven't been out there since 2014 when the oil crash hit. We used to have an office just across the street at a block northwest of Kay's. That office was an old creole looking building that badly needed a remodel, but when I would go there I could take my lap top out into the center court yard and bask in the sun and perpetual 74 degree sunshine.
  9. interesting I did a 99 Harlan/screaming eagle taste off circa 2012. I'd previously had the SE years before when I got hooked up playing golf with a guy at pebble who had it in his golf cart and offered me some. In 2012 the Harlan outkicked the hell outta the SE. We did this in Orcutt, Ca on a business trip. Place called Far Western Tavern. An utterly absurd wine list for a restaurant in Orcutt, Ca. Also featured in that town is the best breakfast restaurant on the planet, called Kays. I don't know if it's due to the amount of drinking we would do the night before or it's just that good, but Kay's is just one of those special places. oddly, I had a 1999 silver oak not too long ago that was truly incredible. I felt like 1999 was one of those special vintages worldwide. https://farwesterntavern.com/ https://www.kayscountrykitchen.com/
  10. ousr was due to a wedding. guy was going to marry his stripper GF and decided to do it on the cruise. chick ended up in rehab thus cancelling the wedding, but since we weren't getting refunds we decided to go anyway. It was allegedly a "nice" cruise. I might do another one in Alaska or something, but I am definitely in the "not a cruise" person camp.
  11. I find that you're either a cruise person, or not a cruise person. Only way to find out is to go on a cruise. I went on one once.
  12. critical error. you will learn quickly if you're not on excursion there is nothing to do on the damn boat aside from drink and watch the fats gorge at the countless buffet and food options.
  13. have my 20 year anniversary in a couple of weeks, and am trying to acquire 1999 bottles for our celebratory dinner. So far, I have been able to acquire a 1999 Rudd Baciaglupi Chard (now known as Edge Hill Baciaglupi). This one is extremely special because the winery only has availability from the family library, it is our favorite Chard, and 1999 was their first release of this wine. The wine was labeled as Rudd back then, and I know these bottles are special to them because they bare the Rudd family name. Why is that so important? Mr. Rudd passed away last year, and I know those library bottles that are labeled under the family name are no doubt special. I was really honored and touched they agreed to part with some. They offered me 3. I only accepted 1 as I didn't want to take that many from their library. 1999 Shafer HSS. I expect this to be pretty damn good. will report back 1999 Insignia. Probably have to shut it down there as we won't be able to function past it. I am still searching for others, and can hold some back for future anniversaries if I can find more bottles that sort of fit what we were into wine wise back in 1999.
  14. i really loved my steak whenever I've gone to Doris, but I didn't find any of the sides appealing at all. They pretty much are all a boring afterthought, and appear to be on the menu so they can simply say they have sides. That said, their steaks are fantastic, but so are the ones at every other place. In the end atmosphere and sides kinda separate them, or at least make you lean to one over the other because we have an outright glut of top notch steak houses here. I don't go there much because those sides are lacking. I do like everything else about the place, steak, atmosphere, wine list. Problem is, that knocks them back from B&B, 48, Pappas, V&A, Del Frisco, Mastro's for me.
  15. I loved season 2 from the jump, BUT a huge part of that was it was actually season 1 for me. Somehow I didn't even know about the show for season 1. I picked it up at season 2, episode 2. I watched season 1 after I completed season 2 so I was hooked from the beginning. I still love season 2 and rank it as my second favorite behind season 3. for me, season one is actually 4th to me. season 5 doesn't really exist.
  16. No it doesn’t. Good grief. Biden is a fucking moron, and seems have a touch of the racism (anyone recall his comments about Obama being “clean” and “articulate”), but nobody today owes anybody anything for what happened 300 years ago. It’s just dumb, like most things we try and convince ourselves are “issues” each election cycle. It’s moronic bullshit meant to deflect the fact that we are in financial peril, and no one has any treasonable idea nor plan to even curb the problem much less actually make a dent in it. There are no votes to be had in actually fixing any real problem, and no brains in our government to make it happen if any of these useless fucks had the balls to even admit they wanted to try.
  17. i actually like it. Not a total departure from a classic design, but a mild update. Nothing wrong with it, but certainly not really moving the needle either. I prefer the old one. it was timeless and im not sure it was in need of an update. That said, it could have been way worse. Still hate the AA livery change.
  18. this tax cut did nothing for anyone. It makes you think you're paying less due to lower rates, but limiting more deductions ends up being at best a wash, or moderately worse for me. I pay a slightly lesser rate on higher taxable income due to phase outs and limitations on deductions. It's nothing more than a mirage that there was a tax cut.
  19. Biden is a moron, nitwit. unimaginable anyone would think this is a good idea when there are way better candidates who are not functionally retarded on the Democrat primary ticket.
  20. Had to take my wife’s car back again to get them to re-do the alignment that wasn’t properly done, and they had these beauties on display. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Went to a birthday dinner at steak 48 last night and I can say the bone in strip I had was one of the top 5 steaks I e ever had. It was unreal. Love that place.
  22. From the profile it has a resemblance to the jaguar f type. Nice looking rig
  23. I got it inspected yesterday, registered it on line last night, and got pulled over for expired/no sticker (I peeled it off yesterday) by a south side place cop today. I could hear his disappointment when I told him I renewed yesterday and showed him my receipt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. thought that was the case. I saw him in potente a while back.
