  1. This July will mark 15 years of my 2005 997 C2S. It now has 62,000 on the clock. There is no question it has been far and away the best car I have ever owned. Nothing else is anywhere close. I still drive it a couple times per week, and while it was a fully loaded car some creature comforts like satellite radio and blue tooth were not even available back then. Crazy to think about now as those things are must have standards. While it show some sign of age as it was a daily driver for about 10 years, I am still amazed at how well it has held up. The interior still is tight, the leather still soft, supple and has held up well. The leather dash could probably use a little touch up as it has faded in a spot of two. I still love it every time I get in it. The sound of the engine, exhaust is still exciting. the way it drives is still so damn much fun. aside from tires and oil changes I have probably spent less than 5k on any other repairs over the years. I did replace a water pump about 5 years ago. It has the carbon ceramic brakes so Ive never changed the brake pads nor rotors, thank god. I hope to keep this thing for another 15 years.
  2. It does stand tall against anything in Napa, and at its price point compared to Harlan, SE, Bond, etc it is quite a value as is Joseph Phelps INsignia and AO Era.
  3. I wouldn't get too worked up over any of it at that age. If you can make it enough fun where they all play again next year then you have done your job. Most important 3 things: 1. Make sure none of the dip$hits cracks anyone with a bat 2. Make sure they have enough fun that they all play again 3. If they happen to learn something about the game and get better that is a bonus. Whatever happens to them in 4-6 year old baseball is not going to affect their ability to be drafted in the first round by the yankees 12 years from now.
  4. I have 3 tickets for rice next Tuesday. I am in Houston, and cannot make it. Let me know if interested. I will have to check and see where the seats are located. I think they are pretty decent. Let me know if interested.
  5. Nobody. I have done 4 pairs of boots in Houston. I have done 2 with JP at sun and ski, and 2 others with different people. I haven't felt like any of them were really all that great. I did the surefoot thing a few weeks back in deer valley, and that is 100% worth the extra money to do that whole custom fit process. I will never do boots any other way again. ever. The variance in comfort between the shit liners that come in off the shelf boots and the surefoot liner/process is as vast as the mind can comprehend.
  6. never really understood the hype on the original ninfas. it is better than all the other shitty ninfas, but it shouldn't be topping any "best of" lists.
  7. Baller. Well done. Love the exterior color. It a huge fan of the cocoa interior, but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me either.
  8. anything that limits a managers ability to employ whatever strategy he needs to win a game is stupid. Anyone even considering telling teams they cannot shift, cannot change pitchers, cannot do x,y, z needs to reassess.
  9. I had a mongoose "supergoose" very similar to Rip's. it was a bit lighter than the ones with those mag wheels, but still pretty heavy. Damn I loved that bike. I bet I put 500k miles on that thing riding it to school and all over hells half acre in east texas.
  10. Nah. He’d rather stay sitting down to pee
  11. not that quiet. both balls barreled up like shotgun blasts. dude can hit bb's with a greased coat hanger.
  12. that is how you treat a hanging curve ball. goddamn he got every stitch of that.
  13. The trop is not a place the astros have had much success at. Terrible place.
  14. was that one of ours they just showed in the stands with a Longhorn shirt and Astros hat?
  15. don't get running yuli there. it's basically conceding you think there is a better than 50% chance chirinos grounds into a DP.
  16. that thing was barreled up all the way.
  17. totally agree. T1 wasn't exactly what i'd hoped for, but snell is a beast. can't imagine getting a bat on the ball against him.
  18. ha. my bad. I read that incorrectly. JM in CF. duh....
  19. Jake is playing LF, Bratley in Center and Springer in right. 2017 Jake was having a career year offensively before his injury. If he can just be an "average" offensive player then he's a bit better than Reddick against LHP. If he could give you a line of say .245/60/15 with his ability to steal bags and makes every play in any outfield position you'd take that all day from a 9 hole player.
  20. I said last year corlabia has the rep of being a gaping axe wound. That reputation is well earned. I think i'd consider trading him now while he still has value. no way I would invest long term, big dollars into him at this point.
  21. i'm kinda the same on this. the standard look of the mid sized sedan just doesn't have exciting lines to me at this point. I am well aware Fat's A7, CLS, my Panamera bodies are not for everyone. I didn't really like any of them when they were first released. Over the years they have grown on me to the point I find them much more interesting and preferable to the standard mid sized lines. And I am well aware my 2016 Panamamera GTS is utterly atrocious looking to many, especially the side view. At least mine is the 2.0 version without the bubbly rear window and had a mild rear makeover from the 1.0 version. That one still looks shitty even to this Porsche bias fanboy.
  22. Ara is a friend of a friend of mine. I had dinner with him and my buddy at Trinity one night a couple of years back when he was first starting Harlem Road. That dude knows the history of BBQ like the back of his hand, and has had an interesting career for sure. I have never had his BBQ, but I have to imagine it's pretty good. He certainly seemed to have a ton of passion for the craft. He's invited me out there several times, but I have never been available. I need to go check it out at some point.
