  1. Are these jokes? Well spoken? Guy was a mumbling fool who had a very limited vocabulary and looked at the floor more than the person(s) he was addressing. Respectful? The guy threw the race card on us as he was about to get fired after 3 losing seasons they included losses at Iowa state and Kansas. He was neither well spoken nor respectful.
  2. If Charlie has any self awareness he’d take two weeks off then quit all together. The guy is just a horrible coach and absutely horrific evaluator of coaching talent. His ability to hire extremely shitty assistants is unmatched.
  3. I got some from the picos tamale stand outside the Picos restaurant on Kirby the other day. they were f*cking terrible. They were pork, flavorless dry pork, and really gummy dough. just utterly awful. the ones at goode co taqueria with the smoked pork are pretty damn solid.
  4. I'm having low tide from the new Finn Dining Hall. The she crab soup is really good. Super rich. cannot imagine more than a cup would ever be possible. I am also having the beer battered fish, and while just a touch too greasy, is really good as well. PLace is definitely solid. would go back. While I was waiting on Low Tide to get my food ready for pick up I went over to the coffee place (Amaya). There were 4-6 girls in line. I was going to get a coffee to go. Solid fail. I waited about 10 minutes and never made it to the register. How can it be that hard to order a f*cking cup of coffee?
  5. I made it through two seasons pretty easily. I am about half way through season 3, and honestly kinda bored with it. I like the characters, but the story line to me is already pretty stale.
  6. well done! that silver is beautiful. I bought my wife's cayenne at Park Place up near DFW. Insane dealership. Enjoy!
  7. I think heavy inbreeding is that county's worst nightmare, but Zellner is definitely going to expose the corrupt underbelly of it all.
  8. this is going to be the closest bbq to my house other than Feges, but Feges is only open for lunch. You vouch for these guys and their bbq?
  9. I get that dassey's "confession" had things left out, but what does it matter? We know with 100% certainty the murder did not happen in the manner he confessed it happened. There is not one single fiber of forensic evidence in support of his confession. Not. One. so who cares if they left out huge swaths of his confession. It is a work of fiction led by dirty cops looking to place the murder at the hands of a guy they had wrongfully imprisoned previously, and who had just won 36 million from a dirt poor county.
  10. Colburn getting cross examined by Zellner and opening himself up to discovery by her team is most definitely a bold move.
  11. people tell me all the time they find great Argentinian at really inexpensive prices. I have yet to find one that I thought was "really good", but it may simply be a matter of style. I am pretty conclusively a California "big cab" guy so im probably considered a "new money" wine pallet. I am fine with that. based on that I cannot say I have found an Argentinian wine yet that I would drink or buy again. That said, I haven't spent much time nor effort trying to find ones that might fit my profile. I just go with what I have always found most pleasing at this point.
  12. fair enough. I wasn't attempting to make the claim that their wine would necessarily age, and was worth being a "library wine", just offering one counterpoint that perhaps one could be aged if need be as I had a real world example of one that was aged with positive results. I frankly, don't know that much about SO other than it generally is pretty tasty young.
  13. I had a 1990 Silver Oak Napa Cab about 4 years ago that was absolutely spectacular. Of course that was time when Napa made very different cabernet. I think it was about 13% alcohol. Maybe 13.5. It had that signature prune like pallet, but very silky balanced and smooth. It had aged remarkably well for a Napa Cab, and from a fairly unheralded vintage.
  14. you guys must have the same boudain source. it's exactly the same as at Buck's. In fact, I would say you guys are producing very similar product at least with brisket, ribs and boudain. your ribs are a bit different in flavor profile, but a similar style. Brisket pretty much identical. That is a compliment to both of you. I would be happy to eat at either place any day of the week. I'm never really at greenway so I doubt I eat there much. definitely recommend to anyone in the area. oh, I think both your greens and beans are better than theirs, and theirs were both really good.
  15. I had feges yesterday at lunch, and it was incredible.
  16. I’ve been trying to acquire this for about 4 years and finally got it. It was the initial vintage of promontory, but was never released publicly. I have begged, pleaded and offered to buy some from the winery for years. I finally had an opportunity to acquire this one. It was important because 08 is my son’s birth year and I now have a bottle of every vintage for the collection I will turn over to him in about 20 years. This is probably the crown jewel since it’s an inaugural bottle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. maybe it is to them. I don't know. They can make fun of me all they want, but that shit was so crispy on the bottom, salty and chewy on top. Maybe it's the NY equivalent of dominoes, but gotdayum if it's not the best dominoes of all time. for about $4.00 it was the best value food I think ive ever eaten.
  18. Goode Co Taqueria has tamales around the holidays. They're great as they smoked the pork on the pits over at goode co bbq, and make tamales out of that. theyre smoky, tender, and really good.
  19. yes. gordy and sons. the nicest outfitter shop I have ever seen by a yuuuuge margin. The damn gun inventory they have in there will blow your mind. THe shit they have in the big bank vault room is absurd. Neat fishing pond out front too.
  20. find a ray's pizza joint and get a slice there. I think we ended up eating there about 4 times in 3 days. not sure how such cheap pizza and be so damn perfect and good. I think it was the best meal we had there, and that includes some of the most highly acclaimed restaurants in the city. Yet, Ray's Pizza stood tall against them all.
  21. I wanted to try it the other night, but the boss lady said all of her friends who have gone said it sucked something fierce. That had more to do with the pitiful service and general chaos of the place than anything, but the food reviews from them were not all that great either.
  22. that is very good news!
  23. We went to FM Kitchen for breakfast yesterday and came away pretty impressed. I went full fat and had the CFS and eggs. It was fantastic. Definitely will go back. Good menu overall.
  24. not true. there was proof in court he used steroids. They couldn't prove that he knew he was getting steroids, but there was proof of steroid use.
