  1. I saw him Sunday night. No opening act. THink he hit the stage around 8:15. HArd to believe he's hanging it up. Father time gets us all. Great show.
  2. Berkman and Oswalt are not HOF players. I do think Wagner is. Guy was flat out dominate for a long period of time.
  3. well probably because there is exactly zero proof Clemens ever PED, and I don't believe any proof on Sosa either (but I may be "mis-remembering" on sosa). The real question is how you vote Pettitte and not Bonds. Pettitte was not only a know PED user, but also caught lying about it when his dad announced on Houston radio that he had picked up the delivery of steroids for andy. odd that he seemingly gets a pass. Tragic that Harold Baines got in. Good lord. it isn't the "hall of pretty good for really nice dudes who played a long time". Crazy it took this long for Lee Smith. That guy should have been in looooong ago. I have no idea the rationale on some of these votes.
  4. this right here. probably my all time favorite.
  5. Bought this bad boy for my son for Christmas. Pretty excited to see how the kickoff stock works, and if it really does reduce kick by 70% as advertised. Anyone else have, or shot this gun? Didn't buy it here, but this is the gun. https://www.cabelas.com/product/null/1821617.uts
  6. Good deal. I didn’t make it, but will get by there soon.
  7. OHMSS is one of my absolute favorite Bond movies. It's top 5 for me. Lazenby is panned for being somewhat rigid, but I think the guy captured the Bond aura from the books quite well. His fight scenes are amongst the best in the franchise history. it's absolutely worth the watch.
  8. diamonds are forever. such a great book, such a steaming pile of diarrhea of a movie.
  9. Dwight is always awesome. My favorite country artist of all time and it's not even close.
  10. agree. That place and Local Foods are the same to me. They make high quality food, but its generally flavorless and lacking in proper portions of protein.

Went to Irma's Original today for a work lunch. I didn't pick nor pay. I had "Larry's" special which was a cheese, chicken, and beef enchilada with beef fajita meat on top. It came with rice, but no beans. WTF? Anyway, I have to say it was really good. There was a great ancho chili enchilada sauce that made the dish. I would eat it again for sure. That said, I still don't think it's a place I would choose if it was up to me. THe guac was really good too. Also had queso. It had great flavor, but was way too runny.
  12. ducks taste good.
  13. Christmas came early! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. kinda leaning towards going the "buy something nice that lasts a lifetime" route here. The Beretta A400 Xplor with kickoff stock. It's lighter than the gun he's been shooting, and I think with the technology in the Beretta and the kickoff stock I can get him a 12 that he can handle. He's a strong kid already.
  15. Good call. I do believe I want to get him an auto.
  16. wow. I appreciate this a ton. I am not in Austin, and I can't see being able to get there anytime soon. Thank you for that offer, and the advice.
  17. he should go to the Wonka factory and get "juiced" by the oompa Loompas like they had to do to the chick who became a bloated blueberry.
  18. I saw MC back in about 2008ish at Toyota Center, and he was horrific back then. We left way early due to how utterly $hitty he was.
  19. Anyone got a good recommendation on a shot gun (probably 20 gauge) for a soon to be 11 year old? Need something he can shoot now, but also something he won't outgrow in a year.
  20. Take the win, Surly!
  21. Supposed to go to Tribute (new Houstonian restaurant that used to be Olivette) tomorrow night. we will see if that holds. will report back.
  22. I didn't see it on the app, but saw it when I logged in on line. It is a banner at the top. you can click on it, and donate your points. thank you to all who have done this.
  23. Pretty much any combination of citrus, oil, spices works (should have some form of sugar and salt). Thank god we have made it 6 replies and no one has mentioned Italian dressing yet. we seem to be making progress.
  24. Right now you can donate your opentable points to provide meals for hungry children. Come on surly, punt those points for a good cause. It costs nothing and can make a huge difference to children in need. thank you all.
  25. wow. I was just there last Thursday for the Cowboys/SAints game. I know the owner, but haven't alked to him in a while. Didn't hear it was closing. Not surprised. The never ending construction on bissonett is absurd. I think these road projects that disrupt business should have some pretty strict deadlines whereby they begin making up for lost revenue the longer they exceed their deadlines. There is just simply no reason this shit should have gone on this long. Youre flattening dirt, and pouring pavement. jesus. Not at all surprised by Acqui either. as my review said earlier in this thread, when we went we had an okay experience but certainly nothing that would make us go back. A huge part of that was the server who totally missed the boat on what we wanted which was interesting considering we flat out told him "we have never been here before, we want to try as many of the signature/best dishes the chef would like to showcase". That seems pretty clear to me, yet after a hard sell on the special of the night, which sounded amazing, he failed to include it in our meal and we had to add that ourselves. Stupid.
