  1. Turkey sucks. I made one. It was fine. Juicy, edible, but frankly sucked compared to this: Smoked over very low heat/oak in a tejas stick burner at 180 for 4 hours. Put it in a 450 oven for 10 minutes. It was awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Was there any actual country music at this event?
  3. Yeah, busting in Jewish Barbie was probably worth messing up how already beyond fucked up relationship with crazy chick. He had basically nothing to lose.
  4. Well fuck. I was going to get some for lunch today.
  5. Love this. This may have been my favorite season. It was so well done and i liked both villain and hero. What I can figure out is how this is so good and well done, and the production level so high, yet Chapo pales in comparison as far as acting, production, etc.
  6. dang. that stinks. It's sooooo worth it. Best Pho ive ever had. THe broth is so rich, and that rib just takes it to another level over the typical meat in pho.
  7. I bought an extra prime shirt rib pho from les noodle the other day. Took it to work for lunch today. I’d strongly urge you to go get some of this. It’s about a pound of meat and that broth is the most rich I’ve ever had. It’s limited time menu special. And quite special it is. I may go back for dinner again today.
  8. I use Rabidoux andouille as my base. Brown that off, cook the onions, celery, garlic in the grease, and go from there with the cornbread, stock, herbs.
  9. Solid and interesting live twitter action today from Zellner. Lays out lots of new evidence, theory, and a pretty solid timeline of when Halbach was murdered. New evidence on the Rav 4 battery situation is interesting in that they have apparently proven the battery was replaced in the car after the murder. It was replaced with the wrong size battery, and one that would be used for...….a crown Victoria.
  10. agree with all of this. 25 is waaaaaaaay too big for smoking. Hell, it's too big for pretty much any preparation. I try and stay 12-14 pounds, brine in gin, juniper berries and citrus for 2-3 days, smoke at 325 over cherry or peach for a few hours, try and get thighs to 160. Oh, and I grind up a pack of bacon, with orange zest, sage, thyme and butter, and rub all that under the skin of the bird.
  11. I realize I should have known better. I had hoped when the Otto's moved over to Penzoil with the new location that maybe they'd defy the odds and possibly offer something at least resembling edible bbq. Nope. Not even close. I know....I know, I know. They've always sucked and I should have known better. I had very low expectations, but basically gave it one shot due to it being in my building. There is ZERO shot any of that meat has ever been in anything other than a gas powered oven and maybe has had some bit of liquid smoke spritzed on it, but it cooked off during the roast. My God, despite my incredibly low expectations they managed to not come anywhere close to meeting them. How does this place remain in business? I have no idea. Utterly horrific.
  12. love the show. I am now reading all the books. I am on Trunk Music which is one of the books that has been made into the Amazon series. Not sure ho wi missed these books all these years, but I am glad I found them.
  13. I nominate the dude who played Opie in Sons of Anarchy, or maybe Liev Schriever. I also think Cruz did a fine job as Reacher, and enjoyed both movies. THat said, he was clearly mis-cast in that role. The whole Reacher aura and mystique is physical stature, and while I think Cruz captured the essence of Reacher's personality and wit, he could obviously never bring to the screen the physical presence and intimidation so necessary to make the Reacher character feel authentic.
  14. My german cars have been all over the map. Ive had a couple of great BMW's 1998 540i, 2004 335i the wife had was great. Had some ok BMW - 2006 X5, 1996 318ic, and some absolute dog turd BMW's. The shitty ones are more recent, and have ensured that brand is dead to me. No more. Of my Porsche vehicles I can say they have all been fantastic. That consists of 2 911's (still have one, but it's recreational at this point), a 2012 Cayenne S that was absolutely awesome for the 100K miles we had it. The daily drivers we have now are relatively new and still under warranty, but so far so good on them. On the Panamera gts I have only done the 20k scheduled maintenance so far. Nothing else has popped up. The Cayenne we now have was acquired back in September so that one hasn't had anything going on yet other than burning an absolute ass ton of gasoline. Hoping they all work out as well as the 911 and former Cayenne. If so, we will continue to be satisfied customers. I don't know that many people who drive Mercedes so I cannot say much about them. SIL has an S class, but it's brand new. It's beautiful. HAve several friends who have Audis, and they generally seem happy. I had an A4 for a short period of time, and enjoyed it. Nobody seems to be having any major issues. I really love the styling on the current Alpha Romeo cars. I hope yours is one of the good ones. They all certainly pass the eyeball test. My BIL has an old mid 80's AR Spyder that he has had for probably 25 years. It's awesome. He did a minor restore on it several years ago. Great looking car, and fun to cruise around in on a nice spring or fall day.
  15. Not new, but prime beef short rib pho at les noodle. Good god almighty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I have had a few arrivals this week. QUilceda Creek Estate cab, Shafer Hillside Select, Edge Hill (Rudd - Baciaglupi) Chard, and shipping notice from Promontory. May have to sample some over T-Giving.
  17. We hit Eunice last night. Neat place. Samples the duck poppers. Execution on these was a bit of a miss. The bacon wrap on some of them was grossly undercooked. The crisp boudain was phenomenal. THough, they should just call it fried boudain balls. That's what they are. They were exceptional. The bbq lobster was another highlight, and the beed duo was pretty flawless. I would definitely go back, and recommend.
  18. what we need is to get rid of career politicians. Badly. By resetting the age to 55 you would get people who have likely been very successful somewhere in the private sector who can then transition into public service as a way of giving back. That is how these jobs were supposed to be, not career jobs leeching off the taxpayer and being bought by the highest bidders. Making the age 55 ensures some level of experience, wisdom, and success, and also to some degree gives us "term limits" by the simple fact that most will quite after a few terms not wanting to spend their elderly years in the shithole that is Washington. We do not need fewer old, we need fewer career politicians, and relics who have been there for 30-40 years playing the game.
  19. term limits, and reset eligibility age to run to a minimum of 55.
  20. I walked by there the other day. If they're opening Dec 3, they best get their ass in gear.
  21. absolutely unreal. You can feel this guys a$$hole clinch that seat cushion and turn it into a freaking diamond when he's caught in that lie. It's so damn obvious. I think the defense attorney did a pretty poor job of going for the jugular there. He had him by the nads, and basically softballed the thing. He needed to realize his jury pool was not a bunch of people who were going to process a subtle hint of impropriety here. They needed to be beaten over the head with it.
  22. Sessions leaving is not bad news for sure.
  23. Couple of shitty photos, but my 2005 careers s and panamera gts. I’ve had to 911 forever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I have a pair of their belly cut gator customs with French toe and walking heel, and longhorn logo in gator on the vamp. To say I love them would be a gross understatement. They're probably the most comfortable pair of footwear I have owned outside the adidas ultra boost, but the boots fit way better. To me it's totally worth the time and investment. THat said, while I do not have any Tecovas boots the reviews on them speak for themselves. Appears they have hit a sweet spot in the market with price, comfort, quality and customer service.
  25. Is that Bobby’s vehicle? If so, it has been crushed and disposed of according to zellner.
