  1. Just shut up, you middle-of-the-road-can't-make-up-your-mind so and so.
  2. I have a high school senior that recently played his last game of football. He was a varsity starter on OL for 3 years. Big kid, moves pretty well. He was being pursued by smaller schools (FCS and D3), so it's not like there would have been a lot financial help through athletic scholarships. Anyway, he signed his enlistment papers for the Navy last summer and completely stopped talking with the college recruiters. We just need to get through a few more weeks of wrestling and I'll be happy. I have a sophomore that also is playing football and wrestles. This one is smaller and plays DB. There is no way that this boy is going to get any colleges of any size interested in him for football. Kid plays football like he thinks he's the biggest kid on the field. I have secretly wished that he would just quit football and focus on wrestling. I know that there are risks in wrestling, but the violence of the hits that he is involved in with football just seem bigger. I have held my breath several times over the years with both of these boys on the football field. A few weeks ago the sophomore told me that he may just quit football all together and focus on wrestling. Inside I was relieved.
  3. Here the puppies are at 2 weeks. They are growing so fast. Their eyes are open, noses are changing color and they are starting to get up on all fours. They are also liking to be pet. This is going to be hard to let them go.
  4. Scene: Mid 1980s, at a party at some girl's house. We were at the dining room table playing quarters, I believe. I was at one end of the table and proceeded to projectile vomit the entire length of the table. My friends and I were encouraged to leave pretty quickly. No stones cast from me toward this guy, but I do laugh while at the same time empathizing.
  5. I never played a minute of organized basketball, but even I can see how fucking stupid his offense is.
  6. I'm not seeing those last 2 pictures.
  7. I'm having a hard time seeing good things from our front office.
  8. I want to believe that they adjust their cooking depending on the local palates.
  9. I think Carpenter would probably do well in Colorado with his swing. Unfortunately, he swings and misses far too often. I think I did read somewhere (or heard on the radio) that he wants to get back to line drives and hitting to all fields. Hell, maybe that's just me projecting my wishes and I never heard it. Maybe Arenado feeling 'disrespected' will help in getting something done. I'd love to seem as a Cardinal this year. Ozuna, Arenado, Goldschmidt would be one hell of a middle of the lineup.
  10. Our local middle school girls basketball coach is pretty good. Would be a huge step up.
  11. I live in a 'neighborhood' with an HOA, but the only thing that our dues are for are road maintenance (plowing in the winter). Other than that, they don't give a shit what we do.
  12. Yeah, I think he's going to have to take 1 year deal regardless of whether he's back with the Cards or any other team. He doesn't appear to be a clubhouse problem. He has been inconsistent with the Cardinals, but the homerun threat was a nice thing to have. I really want to see what Carlson has, but I'd hate to go into the season relying on a rookie. This team just has too much dead weight with Carpenter, Cecil and Fowler. They have been the poster children for giving bad contracts to mediocre players for the last few years.
  13. It's been a while since I've lived in a neighborhood with a real HOA. Are playscapes typically against HOA restrictions? That seems kind of stupid.
  14. Yeah. The rescue that we have worked with got 3 out of a total of 30+ pyrs at that farm. The story is that they started with one boy and one girl and they just kept on having litters. Never got them fixed. All they did was feed them. The three that our rescue took included the mom of most of them on the farm. Poor thing is likely never to be adopted. She just doesn't trust people at all. We met her when they first got her and were going to adopt her. The guy from the rescue actually advised against it and wanted us to meet Ladybird. The mom of all those puppies just kept having litter after litter with no recovery time. Her nipples are black and hanging about 5" below her belly. I'm fairly certain that she will be a permanent resident of the rescue.
  15. Yesterday morning our youngest boy had one of the puppies in his lap. The pup started to whine a bit and Ladybird came over and was trying to get it from him. She couldn't get her head into the right position though, so my wife just took the pup back to the whelping box. It's really fascinating to see the instincts take over during this whole process. Ladybird is eating so much now. You can see her belly and how skinny she is after the birth. When we first met her she was skinny, but now even more so. She gets some fresh eggs every morning and is really eating a lot of her dog food. She was rescued from a farm on the Iowa/Missouri border a little over a month ago. I'm amazed at how trusting she is of people. She did not have any interaction with people until the rescue got her. I think having Sadie here helped to get her acclimated to living with our family.
  16. Other teams are just not interested. The loss of a draft pick is just too much for other teams. I'd like him back, but I won't be too upset if he goes somewhere else. My biggest fear would be him going to another NL Central team and then tearing the Cardinals up.
  17. If he comes back to the Cardinals, I think it will be less than the original qualifying offer.
  18. Ladybird has had the puppies. There were 5, but the first one did not make it. She was born without a sac and had a cleft lip and palate. We tried, but she just could not get that first breath. The other 4 came out just fine. Mom is doing great. Our other pyr, Sadie, isn't quite sure what to make of them yet. The pups were born on Friday and mom did not want Sadie near them. This morning, mom was walking around the house and Sadie went into the whelping box to get a look/sniff. When mom came back, there were no growls or showing of teeth, so I think she is over that.
  19. Smells like a bag full of assholes in here. (I still use this one on my boys from time to time) Harder than woodpecker lips.
  20. Big hands, big feet something.
  21. I'm looking forward to having Mike Leach in our time zone.
  22. Was that wrong?
  23. Stop talking to my wife! No worries, I didn't respond.
