  1. Give him his own forum that he can't venture out from. Kind of like a caged animal.
  2. That's also a lot of liability to take on if you actually let him do things and interact with the public.
  3. A surl that owns his own business needs to hire Hamm but give him no authority or responsibility. That way we can get our fix, kind of like Dirtbike. Although Dirtbike actually has responsibilities and is probably quite a bit more stable than Hamm is.
  4. When I lived in Texas, even as a young teenager, I suspected that the Constable program was just a racket. I see my suspicions were warranted.
  5. They probably could, but then what would all those poor public servant Constable and Deputy Constables do?
  6. Hits close to 1977-80 home. We used to go to that mall when I was a kid living in Hoffman Estates.
  7. Larry the Cable Guy has fallen on hard times.
  8. I'm sure that this has all been hashed out and it's not funny, but oh well... When was EJ delivering pizzas or sandwiches? Was it in his youth, or was it after having been fired from every other job that he has had? I think most of us have had jobs that were fairly menial in nature. One of my first jobs as a teenager was working at the snack bar in Target. And, yes, I used to refer to myself as the snack bar boy, but that's been decades ago. I also used to clean shitters when I was in the military, so I guess I am also the shitter boy. Holy shit, I am old.
  9. It's apparently a Jeep thing and we just wouldn't understand.
  10. You are supposed fill your divot.
  11. I pulled into the QT parking log this morning and on the ground there are probably a few dozen cigarette butts. Some jackass just dumped his ashtray there.
  12. Well, the lady does say that the reason that she and her cousin can't be in the incestuous relationship is because she's married, not because it's incestuous.
  13. I was on 183 getting onto 35S heading to work when I heard about it on the radio. Office was just maybe a half mile away at that point. When I got there, we all gathered around the TV in stunned silence. Later that same day, I met my wife at her OB GYN and we got confirmation that she was pregnant with our first child.
  14. Your wife is cheating on you.
  15. Or maybe he's trying to look like shit. Look at me, I'm just a poor high school football coach, barely getting by. I can't even afford to get haircut.
  16. Yeah, not so much.
  17. Yeah, we have a radio in the coop, but the raccoons just walk right by it on the way to the deck. I did think about relocating, but decided that I didn't want to push the problem on to someone else. I think I'll relocate the hummingbird feeders. Oh, and yes, I felt like an asshole killing the thing.
  18. We live in sem-rural Missouri. Small town, about 60 miles outside of St. Louis. We are on 3 acres, so it's not like I'm out in the middle of nowhere without neighbors. We have had some raccoons start to visit us at night. They are coming up on the back deck and scrounging for bird seed. They also knock my hummingbird feeders down and drink the sugar water. We also have chickens, so I need to get rid of the trash pandas before the look for a new food source, our chickens. We got a trap and set it out. The first night, they stuck their stupid raccoon arms through the trap and ate all of the bait that way. Never set the trap off. Next night, we used bigger stuff and left the trap on safe to try to get them to think it's okay to go into the trap. They ate everything. Next night we tried the same approach but left the trap armed. They ate everything without setting the trap off again. The next night we used peanut butter spread onto a piece of cardboard with birdseed sprinkles for added enticement. We also put some boards all around the trap, leaving only the door available for entry. This time it worked. I woke up at 2:30 AM and sure enough, there was a raccoon in the trap. I left it out there until morning and then drowned the thing. I have to admit, I felt a little bad killing it in this manner. I think a bullet to the head would be much more humane. So, my question to the Surly hoard, what type of rifle/round will be quiet enough to shoot from inside a window without waking anyone up and kill the vermin from about 20 yards? If I can do that, then I'm sure that I won't disturb my neighbors, whose house is about 200 yards away. I've looked at some air rifles, but to get the killing power it looks like there will still be a fairly loud crack as the round leaves the muzzle.
  19. Yeah, he either is really good or really bad. Seems to be a bit more consistent the second half though.
  20. This sucks. He seemed like a down to earth person. Listened to him on the radio before the cancer came back. His day would call in once a week and the way they talked to each other was like it was just them with no audience. I feel for his dad.
  21. And the peanut butter for poor Norman.
  22. Watch your cornhole, bud.
  23. Just hang 1 of the old round ones in each room of your house but don't wire them up. Fun times ahead.
  24. Well, plus it's a peninsula, not an isle.
