  1. "honorable mention to Addison Russell for the nacho incident" Oops.
  2. I'm personally a fan of multiple contractions. Couldn't've Wouldn't've The more the merrier. If you're thinking that couldn't've's not a word, you can go fuck yourself.
  3. "Sorry for taking 27 years away from you. Here's a check for the balance in you canteen account." This stuff makes me ragey.
  4. Well, I don't live in Austin anymore, but I know that if I was still living there I wouldn't want a bunch of Sooners invading the city - not even for one weekend - ever.
  5. Wife (no pics) took our 15 yo to the dentist the other day. When they were leaving there was a kid in the waiting room eating from a big bag of Cheetos and drinking a Mountain Dew. Yeah, he was there to see the dentist. Oh, and the kid's mom was sitting right next to him. That's rural Missouri for you.
  6. "Dammit, Hamm! Will you leave me the fuck alone? I'm at home trying to eat dinner with my family."
  7. "Again, not once did that talk happen and I would have never gotten involved with a group who felt I needed to be on a "one-strike" rule when I had the business/talent they were pursuing." Sounds like Hamm really had a ton of opportunities. He must have been sitting on at least a dozen job offers at the time.
  8. 1 of 2 things happened here. 1. His version is totally fabricated. 2. His version is true, but his employer was looking for a reason to shitcan him and he handed them one on a silver platter. Either way, he's a shithead.
  9. Or when the crawl gets fucked up / stuck. Sits on "NFL" for a solid 30 or 40 seconds or so before it kicks in again.
  10. See, we're gonna break this guy out of prison, see.
  11. I'm kind of ashamed of myself for watching this train wreck and enjoying it.
  12. Agree, but in my opinion they are trying to take that instinct out of the game. I have had kids playing some level of football every year for the last 18 years. What they are teaching now versus 18 years ago is vastly different.
  13. But they leave it open to interpretation. It really is stupid, but there is the catch all that allows the refs to use the “if there is any doubt” crap.
  14. Uh, okay tough guy. Nowhere did I say that I agree with the rule, but whatever makes you feel internet tough, pussy.
  15. I think that the “heads up” tackling that they are teaching now is what leads to hits like this. Basically, they are teaching kids at the youth level to tackle chest to chest. The days of putting your face mask on the ball are over. I agree with all that are saying that it was textbook targeting based on how the rule is written.

  17. My dad was born in 1931 in Northeast Mississippi. He stayed there until 1949 when he joined the Marine Corps, which was right after the military was desegregated. He fought in the Korean War and after getting discharged, he went back home. He stayed there until 1969, when shortly after I was born, we moved to Kermit, TX. Anyway, my dad would say the n-word, but the way he would say it was never with hate or malice. It just came out casually when talking about someone that was black. He would talk about his n-word buddy from Marine Corps that he served in combat with. I really can't explain it, other than it simply being the way he was raised. He also grew up on the 'black' side of town, as his dad ran a 'grocery' (more like a convenience store/illegal sale of alcohol) store there (where we are from was a dry county and may still be so). My mom, who was also born in the same town, never once used the word that I heard. Then again, she was also an Army brat and was raised for a bit outside of Northeast Mississippi. When I was about 12 years old living in STL, there was some busing going on and there were some kids from the city that were coming out to our school. Our heavyweight on the wrestling team was one of those kids. One day during practice some white kid called him a "stupid n-word" because the black kid ran into him when we were running sprints. I was very surprised that the white kid didn't get the shit beat out of him. When I got home, I told my parents the story and my dad, who used that word as casually as you may call someone by their first name, said that the black kid should have beat the shit out of the white kid. I guess what I'm getting at is that although my dad was ignorant about the word, I honestly believe that there was no hate there. Edited to add: I guess the addition of "stupid" in the above is what crossed the line in my dad's mind.
  18. No so-and-so has checked in safe from North Dakota yet for Florence posts yet?
  19. And for the wives and the smart things they do thread: Wife takes the rest of the kids home. She's done for the night while I am sitting in a parking lot.
  20. But at least it isn't something disgusting trying to be something else that some find disgusting. Yeah, I am extremely bored. Sitting in my vehicle at my 2 oldest boys' high school football game. Raining a lot here in the STL area. 2 minutes left in 1st quarter when they go into weather delay for lightning. 30 minutes pass and they start to come back out. About half the team is out and there is another strike. Everybody back in. At this point I am just waiting for them to call it so I can take them home. Getting surlier and surlier with every passing minute.
