  1. I think Lalo is killed and disposed of in the underground future meth lab and Jimmy never finds that out.  Or, maybe that's too easy.

Howard's investigator is going to find some shit on Kim in his tailing of Jimmy and she goes away.  Again, maybe too easy.

  2. This front office is a fucking beating.  So they finally decide to send DeJong to Memphis, but instead of bring up Gorman, they opt for Kramer Robertson.  Who the fuck is Kramer Robertson, you ask?  Well, he's a 27 year old that's been tearing it up in Memphis hitting .225 with 3 home runs and an OBP of .380.  DeJong will probably hit .400 in Memphis and pop 15 home runs in 2 weeks and they'll bring back up so that he can resume his flirtation with the Mendoza line.

  3. I hate the Mets almost as much as I hate the Cubs. Gallegos cost them the game tonight. They finally get Scherzer out of the game tied, get a 2 run lead, then Gallegos fucks it all up. I don't usually get upset about 1 loss in the regular season, but this one is just stupid.

  4. Counting this year's full salary, PD is owed at least $18M on his current contract.  If someone snatches that off the waiver wire, we should send them a nice fruit basket.
I agree, but they don't think like that. Exactly why Matt Carpenter was sitting in the dugout for 3 seasons while not contributing. The smart play is to get rid of those guys, but they rarely do

I will say, parking was an absolute shit storm.  I pre-paid for parking in the Trinity Garage using the link the Moody Center provided.  I waited in a super long line to get into the lot, and when we were near the front they closed the garage because it had reached its capacity.  Either they were letting in folks who didn't pre-pay, or the pre-pay system didn't keep track of the number of spots available.  Hopefully they get all that ironed out.

How the hell do you capture a Helicopter?

I was kind of wondering the same thing.  I was also wondering the difference between "abandoned" and "captured".

Maybe some Ukrainian farmer just hooked it up to his John Deere and dragged it off of some forward location.  They are definitely some resourceful folks.

Probably as an officer near the front, he needs his helmet but it has to be able to accommodate a radio headset?  Who knows?

If their supply folks are anything like ours, then he just got fucked over and they gave him the Mongo sized helmet.  Probably doesn't happen to officers like it did to us enlisted scum, though.

  8. Yeah, sorry about that.

Back on topic...  My Lai, in my opinion, was a failure at many levels.  When I went through Marine boot camp, we were taught that you not only have an obligation/duty to obey lawful orders, but also to NOT obey unlawful orders.  That training may have been a result of lessons learned from My Lai, but I'm fairly certain that unlawful vs lawful orders have been a known thing since well before Vietnam.

Edited to add:  The courage that it took for Hugh Thompson to do what he did is incredible.

Edited to add pre-existing officers that make it to flight school, which is a somewhat unusual path, unless something has changed.  The Army used to draw extensively from the enlisted ranks for helicopter pilots, but much less so today.  And I think they encourage college graduates who sign up to go directly to flight school and emerge as warrant officers, rather than OCS, some other officer billet, and then flight school, where you would remain a "commissioned officer."

The Army has a handful of fixed-wing aviators, too, which is what I meant by few.

Ah, the old Sherpa pilots.  I think they do have some warrants that fly Sherpas, at least the last time I was around the Army, which was about 10 years ago.

My buddy's son, after graduating college, he went to OCS and then flight school at Fort Rucker.  Not sure what they call units at the platoon level in Army Aviation, but he was either a "platoon" commander or company XO and also a pilot.  I think he was flying a Kiowa at the time.  I think those are out of service now, but he's flying something.

For the record:  all Army helicopter pilots are Warrant Officers except academy graduates.  Maybe the few other Army aviators, as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by "few other Army aviators", but there are many helicopter pilots in the Army that are neither Warrant Officers nor Academy grads.  Buddy of mine, his son is an A&M grad and is a company commander within a CAB and helicopter pilot.  Maybe that's what you meant by "few".

  11. Yeah, Matz was disappointing yesterday.  I don't want to read too much into pitching just yet.  They take a bit longer to hit their stride, especially starting pitchers.  Early season coupled with a very abbreviated spring training makes me want to give it a little more time.
