  1. I am actually with you and I question the "normal" numbers and have often wondered if being outside the norm is really world ending? I certainly want to avoid statins at all costs and would like to get off the metformin.
  2. Ok, i cant figure this shit out. Went for a physical 9/2017 and my #'s were: 231 lbs (i am 6'2", 48 years old) 7.6 a1c 222 total chol 35HDL 222TRI 150LDL Doc put me on metformin (1000mg/day). Havent been super religious about it but take them 5-6 days per week. Cleaned up my diet a little bit and added some weight training. Went back in Jan/2018 and #'s (good improvement across the board): 228 lbs 6.9 a1c 206 total chol 43HDL 153TRI 135LDL Went last week for another follow up (this stretch of time i was much worse with taking the metformin due to stupid work schedule, getting the flu twice and pure laziness). However, did eat better and exercised a lot more...as you can see, dropped 22 LBS but #'s went way south. 206 LBS 7.6 a1c 255 total chol 41HDL 208TRI 177LDL Also started taking red yeast rice 3-4 months ago. I cant figure out the cholesterol numbers and the blood sugar uptick surprised me. Diet is decent, not strict, but keep carbs low, havent had a soda in 6 months, drink 100oz of water per day. I really dont want to lose any more weight, 200 is about perfect for me and the doc agreed. I just want to get the blood sugar and cholesterol numbers down. Doc suggested i go see a nutritionist, good idea?
  3. Since i know you live near me, i have a place that will do a pre-purchase inspection (mandatory for used imho). let me know if you want the info.
  4. men-oh-pause you should get a his-ter-wreck-to-me
  5. Representing the non fat people/non apnea folks who just snore. Did the sleep study, no apnea, just snore. Got fitted for a mouthpiece and that pretty much ended snoring. It was a $$$ one done by a dentist and lost it so i replaced it with one off the internet and it works just as good. I use the PureSleep brand. They run $100/2.
  6. I admit i wasnt familiar with him either till the Ticket discussed it this morning. Read up a little on the guy, pretty interesting. He got his start when a Mad Ave exec asked him to write a song to help his kid with math. It took off from there. This song is an earworm (in a good way) for me
  7. Liver and onions....uugh. My mom would cook liver and onions ONLY on the nights charlie brown was on. I couldnt watch until I cleaned my plate. A close #2 was her tuna casserole. Noodles with a couple cans of 'chicken of the sea' covered in mushroom cream sauce.
  8. He grew up in Plainview and went to UNT. And I'm not even going to attempt to post a video.
  9. Circling back... Had a good trip, enjoyed the concert at Carnegie. Turns out 15 year old boys would rather hang with their buddies, not their lame ass dad so I had 2 days by myself to wander around. Really enjoyed myself. My list of eats: -Angelos pizza. Wanted NY pizza but didnt want to travel and angelos was around the corner. Solid marg pizza. -Times square deli. My kid was staying at the Crowne Plaza at TS so took him there for b'fast. Ok. -Dinner at Patsy's. Excellent. Shitty old fashion but good food. -O'Hara's near 9/11 museum. Really enjoyed hanging out at this bar. Decent burger but cool people and atmosphere. -Empire Steak House. Not bad at all. Blue Point oysters, better than average steak. -Iguana. Looking for a good beer and it was across the street from the hotel. Legit mexican food, people there were trainwrecks so that made it interesting.
  10. My kid is in the air now on his way. He is really excited to see the place, although the weather looks like the suck today. I am heading up tomorrow and having dinner at Patsy's then I have the rest of the evening with him. Any cool things to do 7-10:00 pm around 54th/7th? Figured we would just walk around and check out some stuff. Also, he has time sat and sun mornings for breakfast, where should we go in that area for breakfast??
  11. The show/plot is ok, however, I have never seen a more miscast character in my life than David Strathairn. His shitty accent is killing the show for me.
  12. 2 fridays in a row. did you see what my buddy did? awesome.
  13. In collin county. Got my first estimate....$4k+
  14. Went to login from another device and i guess i forgot my p'word. Decided to change it but when i go to p'word it requires me to enter my current p'word...which i forgot. halp.
  15. guys, its a rule of this thread that thermostats are not to be discussed. its been scientifically proven that there has never been a woman who can figure those out.
  16. Ok, I'm lost. Dude gets hit who was mourning his friend and then the video jumps at 1:02 to dudes attacking a police car. wtf?
  17. my wife cannot figure out light switches. we are year # 13 in our current house. in the main room there are 4 switches together on the wall (1 main light, 2 light over fireplace, 3 ceiling fan, 4 light over stairs) in that order. if i ask her to turn on the ceiling fan she will hit switches 1, 2, 4 then 3 every time. Time to turn off the main light? well that means she will hit 3, 4, 2 and then 1. I used my superior intelligence after day 2 of moving into the house to figure out which switch does its assigned job.
  18. Severe shit lining up for this weekend....and bad weather too?

  20. left mine assembled. also, i just put the new on the bottom because i was being lazy. it so much thicker than the OEM the weight of the lid seals it tight.
