The joke is that aggy actually believes that if another school had offered Jimbo more money, Jimbo would have turned them down because his dream in life has secretly always been to be "the Bobby Bowden of Texas A&M."

Make that “the Bear Bryant of Texas A&M.”

    Uhhhhhh... nevermind.

Or for the love of Christ none of y'all who keep bringing this shit up give a flying fuck about any of it except to make some point about how Democrats are incompetent and black people are bad.

    And your point is...?

Y'all should hire Chris Klieman from NDSU. That guy knows how to win.

I didn't read past this post on page 1, but if I were calling the shots at a struggling FBS school, I'd hire a proven FCS winner over some FBS assistant.  He or she doesn't even have to be the hottest FCS coach, just a consistent top 5 to top 10 FBS coach.  By consistent, I don't mean a one-season wonder.  I might give the nod to one who is 50ish years old because by the time he turned things around, he might be just old enough to be less attractive to other FBS suitors.  Desperate times and all.

  4. Not exactly something MY kid said, but I was in Austin in April to clear out my recently deceased dad's house.  I came across a note that I had written him in 1972.

"Dad, I made 151 out of 300 free throws today!  -  ImissWallyPryor"

And I thought he was complimenting me when he said I could have played for Rick Barnes.

You really need to use one of the phone barcode scan apps that crawls and compares prices for each item before you buy.

My list probably pre-dates any sophisticated barcode scan apps.  It has sentimental value, and I exercise my brain by doing mental math.  Besides, what would I do if I found out that another store was cheaper on one thing and a third store was cheaper on the other?  The choices seem clear, either spend my day store-hopping or let it eat away at me that I could have gotten something cheaper elsewhere.

  6. I keep a list on my phone of almost 100 items that we commonly buy at the grocery store. I have the unit price for each at Sam’s, WalMart, and Target. Sam’s is consistently 20-40% cheaper than the other two with a few odd exceptions, those being whole wheat pasta, canned white meat chicken, kcups, glucosamine + condroitin, and flax oil.

Why does the message seem to be working more effectively with oos kids than in-state ones?

Partly because oos kids don't get their panties in a wad when Texas isn't one of the early offers.  They probably understand that schools from halfway across the country don't always hear about them until after their junior seasons.  That, and Texas hs players are more coddled than those from most other states.

  8. My wife does this, as did my sister (RIP):

When we are in separate vehicles, and I’m leading her somewhere, she drives like her engine is in limp mode. I’m constantly having to slow down or even pull over so she doesn’t get caught by traffic lights or lose sight of me. But, if she’s leading me somewhere, she drives like a bat-outta-hell crazy woman.

Either way, I think she’s trying to lose me.

I can't stand this noise. It makes me ragey when a waiter hard pours my water like this.

I can’t stand the sound of ice cubes clinking around in a container - a glass, tumbler, or jug. Fill that fucker with enough ice that it doesn’t sound like a baby rattle.

Wilson sounds a lot like Shipley.  His measurables don't blow you away, but he's still always open.

Does anyone know Shipley's 100m PR in HS?  I'd be shocked if it wasn't well under 11 seconds.

  11. I heard an interview with Scott Frost before their Spring game. I texted one of my Husker buddies, asking him if he thought Frost was the real deal. His response didn’t mention lunch pails:

“Frost is the real deal. Going to bring back physical play and blue collar attitude.”
