Last year we each had 0 or 1 holding calls against our opponents in big 12 play. I’m sure some OU twitter person has it for them.

Holding is the worst, but I’d like to see data for all non-procedural penalties.

OU fans aren't thrilled with officiating from Big 12 for the past two years either and have the same complaints we have.

I’d like to see a side-by-side comparison of penalties called against Texas and OU since the announcement…and for years prior to the announcement. Who wants to do this for me?

There were people who said he knew how to box, so it's...complicated.

And it says the one child he had was the daughter (who is alive, and has a son/his grandson).  Sounds like he tried to keep the paparazzi out of his life.

He was definitely quiet about his marriage. The more legit and less legit sources both say very little is known about his first marriage, and the circumstances of her death are foggy. IMDb doesn’t provide sources for their trivia, so I guess we’ll live the rest of our lives wondering.

You’d think his agent and attorney would get stuff that could be libelous off IMDb.

Random facts I'm just reading-published author, playwright, stage actor, U.S. Marine, and boxing champ of said Corps.   Wife died when he was just 34 after 1 child together.  Never remarries.  Ran NYC Marathon in 1984.  I'm sure his long stride helped.  Survived by daughter and grandson.  God bless 'em

Another random fact is that his wife murdered a second child, their son, with a kitchen knife in a park in Queens. She was acquitted (insanity).  She died of overdose in a psychiatric hospital.

According to IMDb, but not mentioned by Wikipedia.

IMDb also says his boxing accomplishments are based on his own “claims.” He also claimed to have a 17-0 professional record, but said he fought in aliases, so no one really knows. I guess IMDb is saying he was very, very modest.

And then she slept her way across the west. Humping the dude while the twister passed directly over them was the high point of idiocy. I’ve never rooted as hard for a character to die. And the slow, painful death she got was what that character deserved.
I don’t care if I spoiled it for you. 1883 is dumb.
1923, on the other hand, was good. The British chicky is annoying and Harrison Ford can’t act his way out of a paper bag, but it’s a good show. Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford in every movie and show he’s in. This is a good casting of him. And Helen Mirren is outstanding.

The main issue I have with 1923 is that the stupid girl from 1883 is the narrator.

Eh, I have zero issue with other people being into fantasy sports, it is no less lame than other hobbies. But people who talk to others about their fantasy teams, poker hands, or sports bets need a kick in the ass.

I think that may be his point.

I have seen exactly 0.0000 seconds of Yellowstone itself. However, I watched 1883 and actually enjoyed it.

Interesting. I thought 1883 was ridiculous on so many levels. One of the first was when this teenage farm girl from Tennessee who probably grew up riding plow horses or oxen goes out and rounds up wild Texas Longhorns in the brush.

I’m pretty indifferent to Spencer Tillman, but Brando knows we hate him and continues to blatantly disrespect us. Not unlike the Big 12 commissioner or fans of schools not named Oklahoma. They’re glad to take the money we bring to the table, but they continue to make us out to be their Great Satan. Fuck them all.

You’re only indifferent to Tillman because his “partner” is even worse.

I think fox is in on the fix. Or at least Brando and Tillman. No discussion all game of the massive holds, or that play. Nothing to the tune of “they got away with one there” at any point. Barely any replay that showed anything. Then the absolute certainty about the forward progress at the end and befuddlement.

anyway, since when is it ok to go through a receiver to make a play on the ball?

eta: fix is too strong a word and implies an attempt at creating a final result. This is more like a thumb on the scale. Make it harder for one side. If they can overcome, so be it.

Befuddlement is one of my favorite words.

Our secondary has not been good, they seem lost at times and a few of them just seem slow.  It is a bad combination when you couple that with the fact that the Big 12 is simply not going to call a holding penalty on the offense of our opponents with any regularity.  That wouldn't fix the secondary issues but it would certainly help them.  You get a holding call or two a game and all of a sudden as an offense you are way behind the sticks and it's just not easy to overcome on a consistent basis. Not to mention once you call it a time or two all the offensive lineman are a little less willing to engage to the degree they are in bear hugs, headlock and all the other stuff we are routinely seeing that is completely negating any kind of pass rush.   Pass rush and coverage is complimentary and when one is completely negated and the other is mediocre it's not good.

At this point not even gonna bitch about it.  It's gonna be what it's gonna be.  Sark and PK have to understand this and figure out what they can do to work around it.  It's kind of like when the ump is calling pitches a ball off the plate outside strikes consistently.  Yea the first time you go up to bat it sucks but if he's gonna keep doing it any coach is gonna tell you, "you know what his zone is.....adjust".

I agree, except where is the evidence that Texas can bear hug with impunity. I guess we can FAFO.

didn't think AD deserved to be bailed out by the refs after that shit route he ran, fucking play was wide open

It’s okay to mug a receiver who ran a bad route?

I swear we can't get a holding call in our favor to save our life.

The RT for Houston had about 10 holds that didn't go called.

Right, #72 was grabbing on for life.
