  1. Is it expected to be an all at once kind of deal or slow release over a period of time?
  2. Thinking more about Yasmin’s story, she is the most interesting character to me because we get to see a pretty heavy internal struggle with her. The rest of the characters seem fairly straightforward and one dimensional in terms of their motivations and their chosen paths in life. On the one hand, there’s a version of Yas that looks like she could be happy with a guy like Rob, and leave all the financial mess and the tabloid drama behind. I sympathized with that version of Yas and rooted for her. Unfortunately, there’s also the other version of Yas that shares her father’s blood. She may not be the sex abuser that he was, but she struggles with relationships and she needs the money and grandeur and power. She needs the social status that comes with those things. I strongly disliked that version of Yas. This final episode highlighted this conflict and it felt like watching an alcoholic trying to resist a drink. Yas resisted Henry’s offer to stay another night and resisted his apology at the door to her room, but she broke down when his uncle appealed to her and offered her family and protection. Rob was the guy trying to make a name for himself, driving a rental car, and playing scratch off lottery tickets. Muck was the guy with an inherited fortune, and he may not be much himself, but he could immediately cover every other need that she has.
  3. Wow, what a finale. It felt like it should be a series finale but I think the show has been renewed for season 4, so curious how that will go now that the main characters are scattered in all directions. I could see the Yasmin and Rob heartbreak coming from a mile away and it was a gut punch I don’t normally expect from this show. When it’s just her and Rob, she’s a completely different person and looks genuinely happy. Sad to see her throw that away because of her fears over her dad’s fallout and what that will do to her image. Sad to see a shitty person like Muck exploit her vulnerabilities and see how easily money and power can make that happen. Yas never stood a chance in life. Makes you wonder how often that type of stuff occurs in real life. Rob seems like a survivor and something tells me he will turn out ok, maybe more ok than everyone else on this show. The scene in Rishi’s apartment was crazy.
  4. I would pay for the smaller field only. You had the expectation of getting grass to grow, you presented this to them and followed their recommendations at every step along the way. You expressed concerns and they shrugged them off. They basically delivered a faulty product that failed to meet expectations, and they’ve made no effort to fix the problem. It sounds like they don’t have the money yet. In a worst case scenario, what are they going to do? A sod company is going to take a little league to small claims court? How is that going to look for them? In a small town, consider your business ruined at that point.
  5. Every time Harper appears to be pushed out, someone new and important develops an unexplainable interest in her and pulls her back in the game. She uses everyone around her to her own advantage and stabs them in the back whenever it benefits her. Maybe that’s more apparent to the viewer than the characters in the show, because otherwise I don’t see why anyone would want to work with her.
  6. I’m personally rooting for Rob and Yas to find a way out of this. Eric and Harper are beyond redemption.
  7. I liked The Wager much more than KOTFM or LCoZ. Agree heavily with your last comment.
  8. I’m not sure I follow unless you’re suggesting the State of Texas is giving the Feds a proportional cut of the $200 EV fee. I’m assuming that is not happening, in which case the federal gas tax is irrelevant.
  9. Just renewed the registration on my wife’s Tesla and I see the state of Texas has now added a $200 EV fee to registration. I guess it’s supposed to make up for lost fuel taxes, which is $0.20/gallon. So that assumes the EV driver would otherwise buy 1,000 gallons of gas in Texas per year. At a modest 25 mpg average, that’s 25k miles per year driving within the state, which seems absurdly high. In a state with a strong O&G industry and lobbyists, the $200 EV fee certainly seems punitive against EV owners.
  10. Going to Glass Animals this Friday in Dallas.
  11. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but if Laura Loomer is First Lady, then America as I know it is completely dead and it’s time to look elsewhere for places to live.
  12. Yeah but some of his friends thought the assassination “joke” was funny so I guess we all just had to be there.
  13. Didn’t Eric interview in that conference room at one point? Unless I’m misremembering, I liked that tie-in.
  14. That was a fantastic episode. Marisa Abela is doing some incredible acting this season.
  15. I love The Bear but it should definitely be in the drama categories. It felt like season 3 tried to give more screen time to the Fak brothers to support the comedy designation, and that was way over the top and hurt the season.
  16. It seems plausible from what I remember. She has been distraught all season and we only saw bits and pieces of the time on the boat. I could picture a situation in which he went after her again, especially if they were both fucked up, and then she pushed him off and never told anyone. More of a self defense than a cold blooded murder.
  17. Perhaps she pushed him off the boat and his body finally washed up somewhere? There’s not much to pull off in that type of scenario.
  18. Haven’t read this thread in a few months but…fuck. This is gonna happen for a long time.
  19. Was this a new episode on 60 Minutes? I skipped over it tonight because I felt like I had seen it before.
  20. This show is really good right now. Rob and Yas are my two favorite characters and the plot is revolving around them in a great way.
  21. Finally saw it yesterday. I was entertained and would give it a B+. The action sequences were a lot of fun. The only thing that kind of bothered me is that it felt like it was written by someone from CA who has no idea what it’s like to live in a tornado area. At multiple points in the movie, people were outside doing stuff (rodeo, baseball game, town fair) when a tornado struck in under 5 minutes. Calm skies to total destruction with almost no warning. Also, the local people seemed to have no idea how to respond when tornadoes hit. People running everywhere with no apparent purpose and thank god a group of tornado chasers showed up to explain to get indoors, away from windows, and find a basement or low ground.
  22. I watched this tonight and really enjoyed it. Agree with a lot of the comments here - fun movie, strong resemblance to Inglorious Basterds, hints of Tarantino, gratuitous violence against Nazis will never get old, and finally, yes, Eiza Gonzalez is pure smoke.
